I just received The South Beach Diet Dining Guide yesterday and was looking it over. I see that it says that on Phase 1 you can have pickles on your salad. I just assumed they were sweet pickles and we couldn't have them. I'm glad to know that I can add them to my salad now!

The larger bookstores also carry the SBD Dining Guide.

When choosing a pickle, make sure the sweet ones are sweetened with artificial sweetener, as the sugar in the regular versions can really set off cravings.
Another thing to keep in mind: although pickles are allowed, they can also be very high in sodium, so it's best to limit your serving.

Thanks! I wasn't sure what made Subway pickles "legal" but was glad to see they were on the list of approved salad toppings.

Not sure what you have for stores around your area Lisa, but I got mine in our neighborhood Dollar Tree.

I got mine a while ago, but they had a few left the last time I was there.
