Talking easy protein breakfast???

I'm looking for something quick and easy to get some protein for breakfast. I'm new to the website. Any suggestions on where to look?

Egg Beaters! I bought some this weekend in a 2 serving cup. 60 calories for two servings. I ate mine with grape tomatoes.

Is that like the equivalent of two eggs? I've been eating a lot of eggs but at 90 calories a pop that adds up! I'll have to snag some egg beaters when I go to the store next.

Sunflower, natural peanut or other nut butters in moderation on whole wheat is good for some quick protein in the morning. I usually have hardboiled eggs cooked or scramble or "poach" and egg in the microwave. It is quick, doesn't need any oil, and is less mess. Some yogurts and cereals have a good amount of protein as well. I don't know how much protein you want to get at breakfast, but you can take a look at the labels! Light string cheese or a low calorie protein bar can be good grab and go solutions.

1/4 cup eggbeaters is the equivalent of one egg. I bet it would be good in an omelette with dry cottage cheese mixed in or a little shaved parm plus some salsa. I'm not an egg eater, but for ppl who like 'em, you can sure add a lot of stuff and get big bang for your buck!

morningstar farms has some soy sausage patties (haven't tried the links yet) that are OUT OF THIS WORLD. seriously, they taste like the real deal with no meat in it at all. i gave one to my boyfriend without telling him what he was eating and he literally did not believe it wasn't really sausage. they are low cal, low fat, and a good source of protein. pair it with some egg beaters and thats a pretty good breakfast.

I've taken to making eggs in a nest for breakfast. Mostly because I have a lot of swiss chard in the garden right now. But you can use any dark leafy green.

I remove the ribs from the chard, and dice them up. Saute them in a little EVOO, with some diced onion. Add the leafy bits, cut up. Some sliced grape tomatoes are a nice addition, if you like. Cook the mixture until softened.

Add salt and pepper, and a little parmesan.

I like to make a big batch, and divide it among some lidded bowls.

Then in the morning, I grab a bowl from the fridge, and an egg. I found if I wrap the egg in a paper towel, and put it in a small bowl, I can get it to work without it breaking.

Then, at work, I crack the egg into the bowl, and pierce the yolk a couple times. Microwave it for 1-2 minutes, until the egg is done the way you like it.

It's even better if you can get farm-fresh eggs.

Another option is breakfast quinoa. Make it sort of like oatmeal.

But unlike oatmeal, quinoa has a good deal of protein -- and complete protein, at that.

I like to add a little almond milk (unsweetened vanilla is my fave), to up the healthy fats and, the protein a little.

Like most of my breakfasts, I like to make a triple batch on Sunday or Monday, and just heat it up at work.

I recently bought some fat free cottage cheese. 1/2 cup is 70 calories and 13 grams of protein. I have had it twice. Once I cut up a banana in it and the other time I put in chopped cucumber and dill. Yum!

I microwave my egg beaters in a small round dish and then put it on an english muffin with a laughing cow cheese wedge and whatever else I feel like (hot sauce, turkey bacon, tomatoes, etc)

Lots of protein and ready in 2 minutes!

I get a 3 pack of egg beaters and a 24 pack of english muffins for around at costco for around $12 total. I also get a jumbo thing of a laughing cow there too for around $7. Breakfast for over a month!

I also keep boiled eggs in the fridge. Or even a glass of skim milk (I don't do this often enough though.)

I just posted about this, but I love tamagoyaki. It's a Japanese style omlette, and I can make one in less than three minutes. Instructions are here and I make mine with 1 egg, 3 egg whites and 2 tbs of water and splenda. It comes out to 132 calories and 17.5 grams of protein.

Morning star is VERY VERY processed, and is very unhealthy for you, plus they support factory famrs and GMOs, so I would avoid them

nooooo... but they're so yummy!

I knew how processed the products are (they actually taste like meat.. which is not normal), but i figured it was better than eating crappy meat. i tried switching to more natural meat substitute products to help me transition into vegetarianism.. but they tasted horrible.

I'll definitely be phasing out morningstar products though.

Egg, canadian bacon, and cheese omelet.

2 - 1/4 cup servings of "liquid eggs" (I use the Wal*Mart brand!)

60 calories, 12 g of protein, 0 g of fat, 1 g of carbs.

1 - 1.8 oz. Canadian bacon (Brand dependent, but shouldn't vary much!)

60 calories, 9 g protein, 2 g fat, 1 g carbs.

1 - Slice of Kraft Singles: Cheddar Sharp 2% Milk

45 calories, 4 g protein, 3 g fat, 1 g carbs.


Total: 165 calories, 25 g of protein, 5 g fat, 3 g carbs
