Default Plateau - help

I'm new to South Beach. Did phase 1 for 2 1/2 weeks and lost 9 pounds. I thought it was great and I've finally found a diet that is easy to follow and gets results. However, since then I haven't lost a pound. The scale teeters up and down the same pound for the last three weeks. What's up with that? I've only added in one fruit and one grain on most days and honestly I've had three "non SBD" foods in the last three weeks - none of which were extremely calorie laden. Anyone else have these same issues? It is extremely difficult to stay motivated when the scale isn't moving. To make matters worse, I've been going to the gym between 3-6 time per week since I've started. UGH!!!!

I'm new to SBD too, so I can't give you a lot of specific help on it. However I've been losing (& gaining) weight for 50 yrs & I can tell you what I've learned about "dieting" in general. Drink your water. Eat all your snacks & meals. And sometimes, it's like your body takes a break, and it just needs to "catch up". Don't give up hope. It'll happen. It's nice to meet you....we grammies have to stick together.

Welcome Grammy!

This is always a hot topic. If you search the forum for plateau you will find quite a bit on the subject. A couple of other helpful links:
http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/sbd-...phase-2-a.html
http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/sbd-...ining-sbd.html

A few quick thoughts-
if you want to post a few days worth of menus people will give you feedback.

It is pretty common to see no or little loss when you first transition to Phase 2.

how much water are you drinking?

Are you exercising?

Okay, gotta get back to work

You could try entering all of your food into a website like fitday.com and seeing what your caloric intake is. Sometimes I use too much olive oil or nuts send me over my caloric limit and then I plateau, but I don't realize it until I look at each and every calorie going in my mouth.

Grammy!

Transitioning can be frustrating but don't use it as an excuse to give up! I did that with my first go at SB (I am on my 4th real try in 6 years) and failed miserably. Then I got a bit further my second go, and quit. Third time I lost 30 pounds in 6 months and felt great - until I used my sister's wedding as an excuse and it went downhill from there! I've been on since Jan 1 and though the weigh is slow to come off, I have to remember that it took time to put it all on too

hang in there and read those threads Cyn linked to!

We're here...
