Default Earth Grain Thin Buns

SLICE OF NUTRITION™
FACTS BASED ON ONE BUN
CALORIES: 100 5%
TOTAL FAT: 1.5G 2%
SODIUM 160MG 7%
SUGAR 3G *
FIBER 4G 16%
WHOLE GRAIN 22G
EarthGrains ingredients: Whole wheat flour, water, sugar, wheat gluten, oat fiber, yeast, soybean oil, cultured wheat flour, salt, distilled vinegar, guar gum, enzymes, enzyme-modified soy lecithin, Raisin juice concentrate, Wheat bran, Milk, Soy flour, Sesame seeds.

I love love love these thin buns. I like the whole thin bun concept, and was eating the Arnold's until Wendalyn pointed out the sucralose in them. I have since looked at every new one on the market... Pepperidge Farm = sucralose. Natures Own = sucralose (listed as a 'non-nutritive sweetener). Sarah Lee = sucralose. Even though they all say 'no artificial flavors' on the front of the bag they all have sucralose. Earth Grains is the only one that seems to really have no artificial sweeteners, and a shorter ingredient list. Available in Multigrain & 100% Wheat. Love them. the only problem is that they mold faster than some breads I've seen, so I'm thinking they need refrigeration...

I could only find them at Target at first, now they seem to be everywhere.

I just discovered these too and I love them! I put mine in the freezer and pull them out one at a time as I need them.

Why does bread have to be sweet, and have any sugar in it real or imagined? (especially two types). It blows my mind. But I am glad you found something that meets your standards...Thanks for sharing!

I liked the idea of them, but I didn't like the taste. Too sweet and for some reason almost plastic like. Mom and Jennifer love them though.

Suzanne - I've noticed that these are a little sweeter than some - I wish they made one with no added sugar at all. Amanda just told me about Thomas' Bagel Thin, no artificial sweeteners in those either, I'm going to try those too. Might not be sweet.

I've been noticing a huge "thin bread" trend and I love it. I'm thinking about substituting it out as a standard for the lower calories. I already eat Arnold's Sandwich Thins at 100 calories each and love them. (I'm not really concerned about Sucralose... should I be?)

I saw both the Thomas Bagel Thins and Pepperidge Farms Deli Flats.

I haven't seen Earth Grains thin buns but I will keep my eye open for them.

Just for fun I pulled the comparison information from the highest fiber thin bun alternatives for those who might not be concerned about sweetners:

P.S. I tried to provide you all the hyperlinks to product information but I don't have enough posts yet! Sorry.
