Ok so everytime I have dieted in recent history I have always stopped after getting to about 256. I am 254 right now and can't wait to make it out of the 250's. I will do it this time! Ok so I realize this post is kinda pointless but I just felt like putting this out there.

GO KmbRN!!!!!!! I NEVER thought I would get out of the 250s. It's a huge milestone, and you ARE going to make it this time.

congrats! very satisfying to make it past mental barriers! when I got below 240 (my 250) I felt like I'd made a HUGE victory for me.

had some things happen in the interim that have required my energies these past couple of months, but I'm ready to get into the weight loss saddle again.

Nah, not pointless at all. Sometimes we have to officially declare our intents to the universe to help keep us accountable to a goal. You can do it!

TOTALLY not a pointless post - please don't EVER THINK THAT.

I am going into my 3rd week - I always stop my excercizing, etc... after the 2nd week - so we have to celebrate milestones - SERIOUSLY

GREAT JOB!

You are well on your way having already made it past your previous low. We can do this!

Oh I so understand this!! I can remember posting something similar to this last summer, so I went back and found it. It was in a thread about someone who was sick of the 180's, but to me the 180's sound like a fairytale as I was close to entering my dreaded 250's again:

I posted that on 7-1-09, but I didn't get out of the 250's back then. I let them get the best of me once again and I went off plan until the new year. On January 1st, I weighed almost 254, but I decided to give it a good shot and one day the scale said 249. Wowza! I realized then that I could do it; I didn't have to be stuck in any "decade" and I've made a lot of progress since.

So I hope you can find some motivation in this because I really felt the same way, you just have to keep going forward - you will break through!

Good luck!!!

on the Biggest Loser this week, one of the contestants talked about his "electric fence" number, and that every time he tried hitting that fence, he'd end up bouncing back off with a shock and not even try again.

I think many of us do get the block about certain numbers, maybe because those milestones are such tangible reminders of how much we are changing our lives and change can be scary even when it's good.

Just hang in there, you are in a great place to get support from those who are in the same place or who have BTDT.

Hey I hear you. I'm in the 250s too, been gaining and losing the same 5 pds for a month and a half..Ive gotten to the 250s a couple of times before,I was going to say I got derailed.Truth is I derailed myself if that makes any sense.Every time the weight loss stalled I would get fed up and go off plan, sometimes for years. So this time I'm not going to let the 250s stop me.240s here I come.

Definitely not pointless! Many of us have gotten stuck at a certain number and thought it would never pass. For some reason for me it was always 233. My body loved that number and would have stayed there very happily if I let it!

The 250's will be history for you before you know it!

Sooo not pointless. Ugh. I felt like I was stuck in the 250's forever. And then I found 3FC. I swear, this site has some weird powers... You can DEFINITELY do it. Come join me in the 240's and we can help each other get of them asap!
