Hi,
I'm new here and ofcourse I'm trying to lose weight
Im 16 right now but I started out at 242 lbs(age 13) and am now at 212. So I was kinda wondering if there are any other teens here with weight problems. I could really use the support (and I will also support you) and i would love to make some weight loss buddies

Yeah, I'm 18 & I've been overweight/chubby/big my wholeeee life. I just recently got to a "healthy" BMI for my height, but I'm actually at a plateau and struggling to stay in the healthy weight range...but I'm really happy with my weight loss so far, eating 1200 - 1600 calories a day, walking & doing the 30 day shred (I really recommend it).

I'm only into my second week. I was feeling good about it until I got my period and the scale went nuts. I know my weight will drop down again next week, but it's still a bit of a downer. I know, I know. Patience. ;P

Right now I'm on the Atkins diet, and the only exercise I do is spend half an hour on the treadmill each day.

Hello everyone!
I'm Rachel, and I'm 15 but I'll turning 16 in three months (pretty excited). I've been overweight my whole life, pretty much. I've lost around 10 pounds so far but eating is a big stuggle. I won't depress the thread though.
I think all of you on here have made such great progress and that's super awesome.

Hi! I'm Sarah and I'm 18. I didn't become overweight until my freshman year of high school. I am on a mission to hit 20 looking hot and healthy! I've made attempts to lose weight in the past, but my head wasn't in the right place. However, something clicked for me toward the end of 2009 and now there is no looking back (except for motivation to keep moving forward)!

1 dancing carrot for every 5 pounds lost in 2010 (so far):

Hi rythm

to bad about THE whole period, i know it sucks!!! also to be honest i dont think the atkins diet is good for you, the diet kinda deprives you from other healthy foods. If it's working for you go on with it, I'll still support you if you see it working of let me know I'll have some tips for you

OMG that is so good!! I hope to get into the healthy BMI too, before the summer. Plateaus stink, im at one right now because i dropped my calories too low like a month ago, but the weight is coming off again. Started with p90x and lost 2 pounds this week. Im also doing insanity for cardio, really amazing dvd if you dont have it. I really recommend it.

Hi Sarah
I know what you mean, in may 2009 (after my birthday) I was like: I wanna have a birthday looking great and healthy and not big/overweight. Since then got the information I needed and got to work. So when I hit 18 (26th april 2011) Im hot and healthy as well

Just to respond to the 'what your doing' post atm I'm doing walk away the pounds dvds. They're pretty fun, actually, and it's easy to do right after school. And the biggest upside is I don't have to leave my house, I get so self concious infront of other people. I'm just wondering for anybody still in high school what do you do about gym class (if you have to still take it). I'm always super scared to take one of those classes because I'm pretty sure I look kind of weird trying to do some of the things that we're suppose to do in there.
