Can I join?
I've just discovered that I now have 100 pounds to lose. Whew. Somehow, when it was 70, it seemed like so much less. Then I stepped on the scale today, and hmmmm. 242 pounds. How did that happen? ok.. so I know how it happened. I ate all the wrong stuff. I'm a hugely picky eater. I'm a junk food eater. I'm an emotional eater. I'm a bored eater. etc etc etc.
I spoke to a friend of mine today, who was telling me that she has gained 10 pounds the past 3 months, and needs to lose it. I don't want to minimize her pain, but I just couldn't relate. She then went on to tell me she knew how I felt, starting this diet. That's when I realized.. she didn't have a clue. I once had 10 pounds to lose. It was vastly different than this.
Hope I'm not barging in guys. I could use some support. Some people who really do understand.
So.. that's me in a nutshell.
Sandie

hello =)
i'm still relatively new, but i found this to be a great place! we have people trying all the different weight loss plans here, giving out support, chatting like old friends, etc.
we cheer each other on through weigh-ins, gossip about dates and cute guys (sorry matt!), and give online hugs when needed.
jump in and join our challenges, and post a profile so we can get to know you better. plus you can check us out in there too! and pictures of us in the other sticky.
hope you like it here!

Greetings Sandie. There's lots of us here who can understand exactly where you are coming from! Unless you have a weight problem like that it is hard to relate to the affect it has on your everyday life.
When I think back a few years ago when I had 20 or 30 to lose I can see now that I really didn't have a weight problem then like now. I would love to wind back the clock and be that weight again I can't believe I thought I had a problem then!
Welcome and join in You'll find lots of support and encouragement here...
Regards Anna

Thanks for the welcome ladies. I appreciate it. I should set some mini goals too, eh? I went ahead and posted a profile. Thanks for the advice to do that.

Hi Sandie!
That's why I joined this group, too - because I couldn't relate (and was getting a little hostile) in groups with people who needed to lose 10 pounds for their high school reunion.
So, I'd say you're in the right place.

The best part.. (or worst ) is that we are all going to be here for a while.. we are pretty close and we LOVE seeing new people here to give and receive support. Post often!
BTW (by the way) I'm a canuck living in the states!! I go home this Saturday. I am soooo pumped. But scared too - there is soooooooo much food I want to eat that I can't get here. As soon as I cross the border I'm off to Tim Horton's!, then Swiss Chalet and then Licks..
I guess I shouldn't tell you this... but it's been 4 years since I've been home. Can you tell I'm excited? Also a fellow scrapper here too!

Hi Sandie,
I'm fairly new here, but I'd like to add my welcome and say that the folks here are great!
And ... although I sort of intro'd myself in the first post, I've never done it on the pinned thread, so I'll try to add mine there when I get a chance.

Welcome aboard. I know what you mean about being upset with people who think they are fat at 10lbs overweight. But, then I have to stop and remember that I always thought I was fat, even when I was 10 lbs underweight (yes, at one time in my life that was true). It goes back to a discussion we were having about being fat in your mind. But I do get tired of the skinny minnies complaining about their weight when they could put their whole body inside one of my pantlegs.
