Its 1/2 way throught Monday so I thought I'd start us clean for the week. had a quiet day yesterday - after the church dinner last week, we decided to skip services yesterday. There was a guest speaker - usually those are not the best services. I did go to the Y yesterday and again this morning. From a calorie burn I did 670 yesterday and 702 this morning. I'm hoping to go again tomorrow, but I may not have time. DD is supposed to go to gymnastics camp for the morning while I go get my stiches out. The problem is she is sick today -- woke up last night around 1am with a fever and dizzy. She's been on the couch all day -- still with a low fever (around 100). So, unless it goes away by this evening she's home again tomorrow. So much for school vacation. At least I'm home today for the holiday and tomorrow's my regular day off from work. DH will need to either be home with her tomorrow when I go to the dr or he'll have to take her. If she doesn't go to camp, I may go to the Y at 7am.

Vickie -- HUGS to you. I know it was a difficult weekend.

Rhonda -- sounds like you had a fun weekend with your nieces. I'm sure they'll be looking forward to visiting Aunt Rhonda again.

Well, got to see if I can get DD to take a nap. BBL

MOVED MY POST TO THE NEW THREAD

Thanks PAULA for the new week.OH NO!! Sorry about your daughter being sick, hope she feels better soon. My GC were sick last week also with some kind of a stomach ache.

Good Morning Ladies

Nothing new, except I lost a pound and was surprised with all the going out to restaurants this week.I also made some chili and put it in a bread bowl for last night supper.

SANDRA-The antibiotics must be working as my cyst doesn't hurt anymore. Was lucky that doctor took me right away.

Sloan-I'm warm at toasty as we have a gas insert fireplace when the outage occurred and the down stairs the temps were in the 80's and up stairs is was in the 70's.

Nancy-Sorry about your bad feeling about Valentines Day. I went to the cemetery yesterday and put some red valentine flowers at his grave. It was sad to go there, but I manage to go.

VICKIE-You too lost some one on Feb 14th. We all take death differently, its got it bitter sweet memories.Sorry you had to go though this twice. Sending you way.

RHONDA-I have a exercising question for you. I haven't been near any form of activity since Leo passed away.I like to start up again with Leslies WATP's walking tapes and would like to know, Should I start with 15 mins a day and than switch to 30,or do I stay on the 15 mins for a week than change or should I stay on for 2 weeks and than move on.TIA

Have to start my dinner.

Hey Chicks! We are home and DRAINED. I ate healthy for breakfast but WAY WAY bad at the funeral luncheon. Polish sausage, sauerkraut (core :-P), mashed potatoes, dumplings, stuffing.....getting the drift? Comfort carbs. Oh yeah....and two kolachkies. Only thing I can say for myself is I didn't have a lot of anything; but what I did was awful. I'm going to try not to eat anything more except veggies today. OMG.

I'm off to veg on the couch. I'll be back tomorrow....good as new. I feel I was a good friend and that gives me joy.

Talk to you all tomorrow.

P.S. Angela, what you are describing also happens during menopause. So, you will experience it again some day. Sorry to tell you. But.....keep friends older than you and you will always have someone to talk to on Facebook in the middle of the night!

Hi Everybody:

I did personal training with Todd, 20 minutes on each of the elliptical and recumbent bike, then aquafit. If I can find the courage, I'll go to spinning later today.

Maryann, you should do the level of exercise that you can handle, but push yourself a little. Leslie's tapes are gentle, so why not start with 15 the first time and try the whole 30 the next time? You'll know more after you actually do the 15. If 30 seems like too much, do 20, then add on. But, I wouldn't wait a week to increase the time. Go for it!

In the meantime, I am very frustrated about not losing. I've probably just got to be more rigid with my calorie counting, instead of getting lazy as I tend to do. The second trainer gave me a website to try, so I'll do that. If it looks good, I'll pass on the information.

Vickie, no doubt you were a good friend, and that is the most important.

Bye,
Rhonda

Rhonda, I have a website that I LOVE. I can't post it because it is a competitor. It's awesome. I don't post in the community because I love it here so much better. They have great food tracking, exercise, recipes, etc. I tried to send you a message here but you must have your message feature disabled. If you want, I'll send it to Sandra and she can give it to you. Oh yeah...it's FREE!

Yes, I've heard that about menopause. I'm not looking forward to that time, but if I'm anything like my mom, I still have over 20 years until I have to worry about that particular event.

We went out tonight as a family and looked at strollers. My goodness things have changed since I last bought baby stuff. In fact, we got a lot of things for my oldest second-hand, so things seem even more different now. A lot of the swings, strollers, etc are SOO posh and fancy, it's amazing.

Have I mentioned that I'm cloth diapering this little guy? That's changed a lot too...I am actually making my diaper covers myself. It's a lot cheaper than spending $15/cover, and then I can use the fabric I like. Some time soon I'll take pictures and post them here. Of course, I made an Iowa Hawkeyes cover.

I have been really making an effort today to get enough water in. I am usually very bad at drinking my water. I'm doing well so far today!

Later,
Angela

Vickie, if I did it right I just enabled the private messages feature.

Angela, I agree with you about all the stuff for kids. I was just laughing recently about what happened to heading out all day with just a diaper bag and a few toys. And, cloth diapers. Much better for the baby and the land fills. Good for you.

I didn't go back for spinning, but I took a 50 minute fast walk with the doggie. That was good for both of us.

Vickie, please pm me the website. I'd love to check it out.

Angela, I didn't think menopause was so bad. But then I was hyped up on Phenfen when I blazed through. We all blamed my moodiness on diet pills.

Paula, I'm so sorry dd's sick. Kids tend to get that way during holidays or so it seems. I'm proud of you for going to the Y.

Maryann, congrats on dropping that pound. Enjoy exercising with Leslie.

Rhonda, it still sounds to me like you're building muscle. The weight will fall. Just look how great you're doing. I am continually impressed.

Went to the allergy specialist today. Now won't it be a hoot if he takes me off wheat and corn? That's likely to happen.

I think I am coming down with a cold.
I took some Nyquil earlier and I have been on the couch
drifting in and out of consciousness all evening.
My post may not make sense

I met friends today at my favorite Thai restaurant. The Pad Thai
they make is so good that sometimes I lie awake at night just thinking about it.

Robin has a nerve conduction test tomorrow for his back and then an appointment with his Ortho Dr to discuss the timing for his knee replacement surgery. Please pray for some encouraging feedback.

Angela..how is that baby??

Paula- Hope your daughter feels better..

Vickie- I don't think calories at funerals count either !!! That is so true about
keeping older friends because we are all still up in the wee hours ...
When I first started posting on this forum all my post were at 3 and 4 am.
I am better now , I get to sleep by 1 or 2

Rhonda..I think you are building muscles and the weight will start
coming off soon.

Mornin' chicks, all this talk about menopause jinxed me, and I was up at 3:30! I read until about 6 then took a little cat nap. We are out of school again today. We are on day 11 of 13 built in snow days. After the 13th, we will have to make days up. DH built a closet for me yesterday, and continued his work on the kitchen lights. When you turn on one of the swithches the garbage disposal comes on I have been working on decluttering and the upstairs bathroom. I think I will tackle my clothes closet today in addition to the bathroom.

We had a small bit of good news about my dad, yesterday. His nephrologist said his kidneys were good to go. Of course, the chemo will be hard on them, but he is ready to go from a "kidney" standpoint. His next big day is Thursday when he will have his heart test and have his port inserted, so keep those prayers comin'.

Nancy, feel better!

Sandra, I have heard that people who are allergic to grass pollens are also likely to be allergic to wheat. Hopefully that will not be the case for you.

Rhonda, are you getting in enough calories? Maybe you need to eat more!

Angela, I used cloth diapers with my son in 1990. I used the diaper covers and loved them. The hardest thing for us was keeping him dry through the night. I tried everything, but there were many mornings that the poor little guy woke up soaked I have to admit that I did not set the alarm to change him in the middle of the night. I guess that would have been one way to avoid him being so wet. Good luck! Are you using a diaper service or will you wash your own diapers?

Vickie, I would like to have the name of your fav site Also, I hope you are doing well today. How are you?

Paula, how's your baby girl?

Maryann, I'm so glad you have new friends. How are you doing?

I'm getting started on my projects, so I've got to go. I'll check in later. TTFN

Good morning. It's a gorgeous sunny, yet cool, day here in North Central Texas. We have ice in the birdbaths to remind us it's not quite spring.

Nancy and Sloan, I will keep you all in my prayers. I hope all goes well for your loved ones.

Nancy, I got tickled at your thinking of your favorite Thai dish. Sounds like something I'd do.

Sloan, I'm going to be surprised if I'm not allergic to wheat. The funny thing is I'm more concerned about being allergic to onions.

I'm going to do 30 min today. I know that's not much but at least it's something. Have a good day, everyone.

Good Morning Ladies

I wasn't feeling well yesterday and just woke up an 1hr ago. So Lunch & Dinner is going to be very late today.

I like the CC/PC thread that I'm on,it worked, but since Leo passed I gained 6 lbs.Going to start exercising again planning to do my walking tapes with Leslie in the morning before breakfast and get my spinning on the bike in the afternoon while watching a movie. Need to get out of the 170's and work myself down to a healthy weight of 140.

VICKIE-When going though what you have been you body need comfort foods It happened to me,now matter how hard I tried. You will get back to eating the correct foods with portions again. Do you really feel that Jenny Craig is a good way of eating???????I see Nutra system all the time on TV and was just wondering. I'd be curious on your new web message board also. I'm on 5 right now for counting calories but one more wouldn't hurt.

RHONDA=Thanks I will go with Leslie for 15 mins and than go to the 30m right after. I always believed its calories in calories out,but I seemed to for get the latter.

SANDRA=Thanks, for the congrats hope it will continue going down and I have several Leslie tapes it just a matter of putting them in VCR.

NANCY=Sorry about you not feeling well,I used to use NyQuil but I found the Zicam is better.

SLOANE=Thanks, we have so many things in common other than losing our spouses. I have my up and down days, on Sunday[Valentines Day] I got to the cemetery and didn't have any repercussions like I did in Jan. and than this morning I thought that Here I'm living in a 7 room house and I all alone. Not tending to move as I don't want to go into a small apartment that would definitely bring me into a depression and claustrophobia.

Have a great day,Its 12n and I'm still in my night clothes, shame on me

Hi everyone. DD is feeling better today - no fever, I think its now turning into a head cold. I did have her skip gymnastics camp this morning - 3 hour session at her gym. She didn't think it was a good idea for her to be running around. It sooooooo much easier dealing with her being sick now that she is older and understands that she needs to rest and take medicine to feel better. When she was younger - only maybe 2 years ago, when she was really sick and needed tylenol or ibuprophen it was a battle to get her to take anything.

I had my stiches out this morning and it feels so much more comfortable. I'm moving forward with the day surgery for what is either another lypoma or a hernia. The Dr today thought it was going to be just a lypoma - and also confirmed what the other Dr said that if there is a hernia it may be a pin hole. Could have been bigger when I was pregnant - yes, I 've had this thing for a long time. The good thing is that is should be an easy recover as its not touching muscle. I should hear from them within the next week to schedule it.

Its snowing here again - should only get a couple inches. I'm going to venture out with DD to Target. Her bday party is a week from friday - we need to get the goodie bag stuff and then go order her cake. The RSVP date was yesterday - there are still 4 girls we have not heard from. I'm assuming they are all coming.

Maryann, Good luck with the exercising. At least you're working at it after only a 6 pd gain. You'll get back on track in no time.

Sloan, do you normally go through so many snow days? So far this year we've had one. As it stands, dd will get our of school mid June. Glad you've gotten some good news on your Dad. keeping him in my prayers.

Nancy, yummm, love pad thai! I wonder if there is a healthy version somewhere that would taste just as good. Might need to look into that.

Well, off to go shopping. Have a good afternoon.

Good Morning Chicks! I slept until 10:00 and I'd like to know if any of you saw the truck that hit me? I'm pretty beat up but happy to have my life back. I'll be checking in with my GF periodically, but the intensity will be over.

I sent the message about the website privately to Rhonda, Sandra, Sloan and Mary Ann. If anyone else wants it, let me know.

I've got to go figure out what to eat today and make some grocery shopping lists. Then I can come back here and play.
