*gasp* Oh no! I hadn't heard!

I'll be listening to the Greatest Hits tonight, then.

Yes, so sad. I feel awful for Barry, and Robin. First Andy, and now Maurice.

My teen years were full of BeeGees tunes. Way too young to die.

Hearing news of his death this weekend has pretty much brought back every goofy memory of the 70's I have. My "I'm Eve" poster, my green shag carpet and mustard yellow walls, bell bottoms and rainbow shirts - remember those?? Time to watch Saturday Night Fever...

I agree, too young.

On the news, they mentioned that Maurice was 53. I looked at my husband who is 40 - Maurice, only 13 years older - I can't imagine having only 13 years left with my husband.

Terri,

I don't think I remember the "I'm Eve" poster. Please refresh my memory!

I remember our living room in the 1970s - burnt orange carpeting, moss green furry sofa with matching swivel chair! LOL

Last week I saw the movie "Coming Home" circa 1978- one of the main characters was reading "Desiderata" on a poster on the wall.

Remember that one?

Ooh I love nostalgia! What I remember of the 70's (and I remember a lot! lol!)-

Remember the kitchen appliances were one of three colors- Harvest Gold (really ugly mustard yellow), Avacado (really ugly olive green), or Bronze (impossible to clean dark brown)
My Mom had the Harvest Gold, and my Dad had the Bronze, yuck!

Beer mirrors

Black light posters

The t-shirts with the girl with hair over one eye, (does anyone remember these, besides me?)

The Exorcist

Jaws

EST

The birth of the sensitive man (thank god!)

Jonathan Livingston Seagull

I'm OK, You're OK

Have a nice day happy faces

Ah, the seventies! My ex BF and I made a 70s list too Velvet but I have no idea where it is (somewhere in the chaotic basement, possibly!). But off the top of my (greying) head, here are a few more:

necklaces with your initial as the pendant

Ankh pendants (the Egyptian thingie)

Seventeen's "college issue" (I remember one with Jodie Foster in a kilt, would you believe! and the guest editors, how I wanted to be one!)

weird granola bars (tubular with icing in the middle)

grape Tang (yuck!)

purses with fringe or that looked like the top half of a pair of jeans (had both)

buying records for $5 at Woolworth's

& you could still buy underarm cream in a jar (Tussy - from the 40s, but still hanging on)

and hair mousse in chocolate, strawberry or lemon in enormous cans! and didn't we all think that was great progress in hair care!

pointy long collars outside the sweater

clogs & Earth shoes

cardigans with tie belts & crocheted vests

& ponchos (which are BACK! and in the right style are actually quite groovy)

And I had those socks with toes in them, Velvet! And oh that Bicentennial went on seemingly for YEARS, didn't it!
