Default Easy Excercise Video??

Can anybody recommend an excercise video that won't kill a fat chick like me? Don't get me wrong...I know I need to push myself. But it seems to me that mosts videos are made for people who are in, at least, semi-good shape. Any recommendations??

I highly recommend Leslie Sansone's Walk Away The Pounds. Its an in home walk program (low impact aerobics). Anyone can do it! Its for beginners, intermediate & advanced. Some of the dvd's incorporate stretchy bands & light weights but...you can work up to those.

I agree. Walk Away the Pounds is the thing to do. They have some great videos at Target or Walmart. There is one that I think is called the Ultimate Collection that has a 1,2,3, and 4 mile one on their and its great for beginners. They are easy to use and easy to follow. Good Luck with it!

You can also download Sansone's 1,2 and 3 mile videos as a package if you want to watch from your computer or burn them to a cd. Just Google her name and "download" and check prices. But be sure not to get the faster ones to start with. She can really get going on those 5-miles walks and on the ones that add extra moves for toning while walking. Start slow, it won't take time to move up and outdoors!

You know...I think I might have a Walk Away the Pounds video. I want to say I bought it a few years ago and tried it, but I was living in a second story apartment at the time and my down-stairs neighbor complained about my stomping so I gave it up. I will dig through my DVD mess and see if I can find it...now that I've got a house. lol My little boy might even enjoy doing it with me.

Another WATP fan! I also like that it doesn't take up a lot of room. Some of these videos act like I have a dance studio sitting around, waiting for me to get the urge to exercise. Wrong. I have an average sized living room floor. Also good for the co-ordinatedly disinclined. If ya know what I mean.

Add me to the WATP chorus. I've found that most work out videos, while I can keep up with them, involve moves that are impossible for my body to do - my boobs and belly are literally in the way and make them impossible. I think leslie herself is a little annoying, but the owrk outs are great. Once you get the hang of them, you can turn down the volume and crank up whatever you'd prefer to listen to. Another thing I've found is that, depressing as it might be, pregnancy workouts are designed expecting that you will have boobs and belly, so they are easier to physically do the moves.

Pregnancy workouts!!! OMG...that's genius!!! I never would have thought about that! When I get tired of my new WATP video I'm going to have to try that!

I spent a long while cruising clips at collagevideo.com

I ended up ordering Kim Lyons Sit Down and Shape Up

and Ellen Barett Fusion Flow

since they are both rated at "beginner" and I felt I could deal with both instructors from the clips. I like the WATP wrokouts, but find Leslie way chatty and that would make me bonkers. I haven't gotten them yet, so can't describe the workouts, but I do recc. collagevideo.com just because of all the preview clips!

Walk Away the Pounds!! I order these two from Amazon and love them. I sweat but don't feel like I am killing myself to exhaustion. Very motivating too!

Leslie Sansone: Walk at Home - 5 Mile Fat Burning Walk (2008)

Leslie Sansone: 5 Day Slim Down - A Mile Each Morning (2008)

Good Luck!

Another Leslie Sansone Fan! I have been doing the 2 mile walk and sometimes the 3 mile walk. I have the vhs tapes from years ago with those soft weighted balls. I must admit I am getting bored doing these walks and need a change of pace (no pun intended).

I am wondering if I should only be doing the 3 miles because I don't sweat anymore on the 2 mile walk? Duh!

I did buy Exhale Core Fusion Body Sculpt dvd and it just arrived yesterday so I will try that today and see how I like it.

The Kim Lyons and Ellen Barett videos look good too!

Update -- I'm liking the Kim Lyons "Sit Down and Shape Up" series!

I moved on to the "green" which is the 2nd DVD. It is about right for where I'm at. The "blue" ones seemed a touch too easy so I did them and then moved on.

Plus size friendly, isn't killing me or asking me for moves a plus size can't cope with. (I'm a size 24 right now and have a belly.) Choreography is basic and easy to follow.

I wore it a heart rate monitor today and my average was 135 and I burned 230 calories. So I was pleased that it's working me at the level I want to be at right now.

I finish doing it and feel energized, worked out, but not disagreeable and dreading tomorrow. I find myself looking forward to doing it again!

HTH!
