Question Working out with make-up on??

I put make-up on for school & when i come home I work-out with it on. So, is it bad for your skin to work-out with make-up on?

Should i wash it off before i work-out? I usually take a shower after i work-out and wash my face. Will it cause acne? Thanks.

If you clean it while your face still feels sweat it might help clear your pores of the makeup. If you let your face dry then you let bacteria, sweat, makeup redry together and this could cause acne for sure.

When you exercise your skin gets hot.

When your skin gets hot, your pores open to let the heat/sweat out.

When the pores open, whatever is on the surface of your skin can get in the pores.

When there is foreign matter (makeup, dust, whatever) in your pores, they become inflamed and try to clear themselves. Thus, acne.

Makes sense?

I work out with my makeup on (if I wore it that day) and I haven't noticed a difference.
I usually go to the bathroom and rinse my face off after I've completed my workout (at the gym) to help cool me off. Then home for a good shower. I haven't noticed an increase in my adult acne. I did notice that my daughter's acne seemed to clear up when she works out steadily - irregardless of if she wore makeup or not.

It would probably be better for your skin not to wear makeup while exercising, but TBH I never leave the house without something on. I haven't noticed my skin react any differently.
