Default 25 lbs! Onederland for the frist time in years,

Hi everyone!
I am sooo happy to see the number 199.2 on my scale for the last two days. I have officially lost 25 pounds since May! My journey is a bit slower than many people ...but so was the turtle

I haven't given up everything (food wise) I just eat less of it ... I don't exercise as much as I should but, I've still lost the wieght. Then main thing I have changed is I am NOT being impatient and I am NOT beating myself up for not losing fast enough.

To be honest I plateaued at 206 for almost 5 weeks. In the past I would have been so depressed and given up ... but I held strong and kept reminding myself that it was just a plateau and all was STILL OK ... I was still down 17 pounds and I would NOT regain that by feeling sorry for myself. Sure, enough ...eventually the numbers started to move again. I now embrace the PLATEAU's and take it to mean my body is just settling in to its new lower number.

This is a great way to end the year. I will offically start the new year wieghing under 200 for the first time in 5 years. ( since the birth of my second son)

I am looking forward to 2010 and losing an additional 45or so pounds! I KNOW I will do it. Thanks to everyone here for their support and stories ... while I tend to lurk more than post ... you've all helped and motivated me tremendously.

AlleyTD, I am right there with you. It's been a slow and steady progress and it's taken me over a year to lose 60 lbs. Do I care how long it takes? No. 2 years ago I was taking a handful of medication every morning, slowly killing myself with food and my laziness. While I still want to lose about 60 more lbs, I'm the healthiest I've been in just about my entire adult life so I just bask in that knowledge and don't sweat how many days I have to lose x amount of pounds. It'll happen and I just keep plodding on so I'm right there with you!!!!

My doctor says it's remarkable because his patients may lose 10, 20 or 30 lbs at most and usually gain it back so he tells me to keep doing what I'm doing.

That is sooooo important! That's what I'm doing now too. I used to get so frustrated that I ate the house when I had a plateau! Now, I just try to keep going and know that eventually, it WILL come down!

You did AMAZING!!! Slow and steady wins the race! A HUGE congrats to you and 2010 will be a GREAT year!!!!

THANKS GALS! Gosh I love this forum ... it's only been 20 minutes since my post and I have three supportive replies already.

Ok here are a couple of face shots ... One in the red is me at my highest 226lbs ... the one in the pink was taken on Christmas at 200 ... I can see the slight difference in my jawline.
