Default So nice not to be alone!

Hello! I can't believe I can stand to lose 100 lbs, but it appears I can indeed do so. So here I am! I started very close to 235, though I didn't actually weigh myself until my clothes fit better. I am estimating I have lost 14 lbs based on how tight my clothes fit another time that I weighed 235. In any case, my goal is exactly 100 lbs less. At 5'4", it's not a too terribly unrealistic goal. And it's what I weighed on my wedding day 11 years ago. And saddly, I wasn't happy at 135 then! But boy would I ever be now!

I'm proud of myself for having lost 14 lbs. Tomorrow marks 3 weeks of trying...again. So 14 is very, very good.

And happily, I sailed through Thanksgiving! I figure if I can get through the holidays, I can get through anything. I drank a slim-fast shake as late as I could put it off and then when I loaded my plate up, I did so with about a tablespoon's worth of food per item. And I ate slowly. My only concern was that I really didn't know how many calories I was eating. Also, I had to do that two days in a row since I hosted twice. But that's all behind us now! I'm back to my normal six meals of 200 calories each! I feel better eating this way. Much better than one slim-fast and just one other meal. That's not healthy.

I hate breakfast, and always have. I find that if I eat too early, I actually gag. I don't know why this is. So I've happily settled into drinking a slim fast shake on my way to work. I don't gag on it, it has vitamins in it, and then I simply have my first meal/snack at 10:00.

Welcome to 3fc

I also started at 235- I'm an inch below you.

Eh for thanksgiving I can't say I have been perfect- but I've been better than before for sure.

As the leftovers are getting eaten the diet's coming back to normal and Monday is back to the old drawing board and recovering from the few pounds I've gained. Which honestly I'm not too upset over since I haven't seen my mother in TWO years and she's been cooking all my favorites! To me these few pounds are totally worth it!

Beerab, I'm more like 5'3" and a half, but as you know, at this height, every bit counts.

Eliana...hey there! I am 5'3 and weigh 230 pounds...I am new here to the board and have been given lots of good info! I also wanna lose 100 pounds. It is obtainable and I'm gonna reach it and maintain it. It's great to have support here and encouragement I do wanna add something to what you said about SlimFast. I knew a guy who drank SlimFast with his meals so he could ADD weight. And he did, he gained a lot of weight by doing that. I would be careful with the SlimFast and make sure you only drink it as a meal and not with a meal. Best of luck! We are in this together

Interesting about the Slim Fast. I do drink it as a meal. It's 200 calories and it has a lot of protein in it, so it seems to be working so far. I'm not really using it as a weight loss tool so much as a breakfast replacement. In other words, if I was trying to maintain, I think I'd still drink it. I looked at all the protein drinks and I liked this one best because I could buy it in its generic form and it's exactly the 200 calories I need, if made with skim milk. I can see how it could be used to gain weight though if it was added to a meal or used with blended drinks of eggs and bananas and all those crazy things weight lifters put in blenders.

I hope it works for me. Even yogurt, which I love, somehow gags me in the morning. But I have to eat before my body is ready because once I'm at work, it's go, go, go until 10:00 and I feed children in the morning. It's hard to smell their pastries and other crap the government thinks is a balanced breakfast to get the kids started right.

I am not a big breakfast eater either. I usually eat turkey sausage. How do you drink your SlimFast? I have bought some in the can before and gag cause it smells like vitamins. I would love to have a meal replacement option sometimes.

I can so relate to this! I weighed about 130 on my wedding day 12 years ago and sadly managed to get up to 215 at my heaviest. I didn't realize how big I had actually gotten. I've now got it all off plus more. You can and will do this, we are here to help! Good luck.

I buy Meijer's brand. It comes in Vanilla, Strawberry or chocolate. I have a gravy shaker that has a grid thing at the top so when I shake it, it breaks up the clumps. I don't like the canned, pre-made shakes. They're a thicker consistency.
