Losing it in One Area?
Has anyone noticed when they started losing weight it as more in one area of their body then another. Like I have only lost my first 10lbs and I measure inches as well. I haven't lost really any inches in the middle, but I have in my Thighs and Calfs. I do Bob Harpers Weight loss Yoga and which really focuses on overall body,ABS, and Strength Training, yet my legs by measurements are the only thing getting smaller. I know it's the first 10lbs, when do yo guys notice your measurements or body really getting smaller, and Did you lose weight in one area first?

I lose in my face first... or at least that's the first thing I notice. ... As far as inches, I've lost the most off of my ribcage and lower tummy so far. Some off my upper thighs. And a tiny bit off my arms and everywhere else. The last time I lost weight my upper thighs seemed to stick around the longest... so we'll see how things go as I progress.

I am so completely jealous--your legs are already losing????? That was my last frontier! Unfortunately it's the first area "rediscovered" when I overeat! You are doing so well. Weightloss is an amazing personal journey--you will learn so many wondrous things about your body along the path.

I'm there. I feel like I lose weight from the extremities inwards. So I've lost it in my face, arms, chest, back, and legs.
I'm still pudgey around the middle and I feel like I look all the worse for it because it's no longer in proportion with the rest of me.
Sorry, this is my hang up these days.

I've lost a fair amount from my legs too; this drives me crazy since I already had proportionately thin thighs. My back and arms are going too, without much from the tummy yet
Sounds like it time to break out the mini-skirts

My butt! Gone. The rest of me shrunk pretty evenly with my mid-section being the last frontier.

Seems like most of us lose weight in the arms and legs first, so I guess I am not the only one. I would guess that your stomach is probably last and the hardest because it's more concentrated in one area. I am so worried about the fat not leaving and muscles not restoring in my stomach. I had a c-section too, so I always worry that my lower pooch is always going to be there.

Yup-- another thigh loser here. My legs are so happy to get skinny while my middle loves to stay pudgy.

I think it depends on where you tend to gain - I gain all over, no big target area, until I hit 199+, I think. Then I gain very heavily through the center of my body - between my shoulders and on my back, my neck, breasts, and belly.
Even at very high weights my arms and legs are well proportioned and not terribly jiggly.
So it makes sense, given how I came on, that I lose significany through the core of my body, losing 8 inches off my waist and 6 off my breasts, while losing only half an inch off my arms and GAINING half an inch in my thighs, from toning with the exercise bike.
I doubt I will see big losses in my limbs for another 30 pounds or so.

My body seems to work the other way around - apparently my waist is shrinking at a rate of knots. Whilst my thighs (my big problem area) are slimming down...well...there's a lot to slim down. So I think that's going to take a while.

UGH! I'd kill to be one of you ladies that lose in the waist first... I would TOTALLY keep my thunder thighs over my stomach... which, of course, is the way I lose: stomach last! Argh.
It really, REALLY makes for hard pants shopping, being disproportionate like this. *sigh*
However... with this weight loss (the first time I lost weight was in my late teens and I did it the WRONG ways: ie, drugs, partying, not eating at all, etc, and I didn't really pay attention as I lost) I've noticed that the first thing that went was my upper body. Totally lost my DDD boobs, the fat around my rib cage went, and my arms got smaller. Even my SHOULDERS seem narrower... which definitely gave me a bit more of a pear shape as compared to the overall roundish box shape I had before!
I just want to get rid of my stomach!!! Grrr!!!!

I lose around the waist first then arms/legs last. One thing that helps with that is to cut EVERYTHING artificial from your diet, including diet sodas.

Am I horrible to say that I really can't remember? lol I did notice my face being thinner first but other than that I didn't really pay attention to measurements....the only thing that has been the bane of my existance is my saddlebags (hips).

I alternate losing on one side of my body and then the other, so if I go off the diet I'm lopsided for a while. Right now the scale is not moving but I am losing fat off my (hanging) stomach; I can tell that because I don't have to move it when I use the toilet (did you want to know that?); also my right breast is larger than my left one and the fat roll above my waist on my right side when I sit down is bigger than on the left. I always lose fast around my waist and the area between my breasts and waist gets flat. The hardest place for me to lose is on the back of my upper arms where it stays forever. Because I swim the sides of my upper thighs don't have fat pockets; if I don't swim I get "lumps" there that don't want to go away.
