I was inspired by cfmama's post to do my own maths:

I've lost
21% of my startweight.
42% of the amount I want to lose.

Hm, this is helpful. I'm pleased to know that I'm less than 4/5 of the woman I used to be. On the other hand, it's quite eye-opening to realize that, after all the fannying around I've done since July, I'm not even half way there, and I could have been a lot further on. Good lesson.

Also - once I start doing geeky stats I know I'm getting into the groove again.

Well done I'm sure I could of also lost a lot more if I had of committed properly at times I was supposed to be losing weight but I've lost 35% of my start weight and 68% of the amount I want to lose. Very helpful to see the progress I've made when I have only lost 2lb this month.

Geeky stats help me too

I too am a fan of the geeky stats. I've lost 32% of my original weight, and 67% of the weight I want to lose. Hey Rainbow, we almost match

I have only lost 9.2% of my starting weight, but 23% of the 100 pounds I want to lose. Scale is moving again and I am focused, only good things will come.

I've lost:

nearly 16% of my starting weight and
just over 40% of the weight I have to lose.

And even though I'm a mathematician, I have no idea what that means *snigger* Does the 16% show that I had (relatively speaking) less to lose?

Math is not my thing so I had to play around with the calculator before I could remember what goes into what, but I have lost 30% of my starting weight and am 84% of my way to goal. And yes I could have been there by now if I'd kept on losing through the summer and early fall.

But---seeing the percentage of how close I am, it would be a shame to quit now!!!

I've lost almost 19% of my original weight and 40% of the weight to goal... Yay! Hopefully I hit that 50% next month...

Rosinante,

You have done super! You and all the others have inspired me to do my math too!

I have lost 29% of my starting weight. I don't have a end goal yet so can't do that calculation.

I had to refresh my memory of how to calculate this so I am assuming that others need to also. Here is the formula for anyone who wants it.

((IW-CW)/IW) * 100= weight loss percentage

IW is your initial weight and CW is your current weight.

I love percentages also. When I started I was amazed that I wanted to lose 20% of my then self. This thread had me reflect and I actually have lost 25% of my former self. so cool

Rosinante, keep up the good work. Just keep looking forward

chicks, there are some pretty fabulous percentages here. rock. on.

19.66% of my start weight... so I could pretty much round up to 20% but I won't since that's a mini-goal I'm waiting to get to.

49% of what I want to lose.

I've heard people say that people really start to notice the weight loss when you lose 20% and I have to say that's true.

Rosinante -- I want to catch up with your percentages!

I have lost
19% of my startweight and
37% of the amount I want to lose

Ubergirl, it was so interesting for you to say that people really start to notice the weight loss when you lose 20%. No one really noticed my weight loss until this week when multiple people have mentioned it, even though I have lost 55ish pounds. I had never heard that 20% idea, but also think it might be true.

Love this thread, I'm a sucker for statistics.
So far I've lost 13.69% of my starting weight, and am 30% of the way to my goal. The 13.69 doesn't sound that amazing, but when I think I'm nearly a 1/3 of the way to my goal weight after less than 4 months that makes me feel great!

Yeah, that's how I'm seeing it - my 40% means I'm almost half way to my goal! That's like holy woah!
