Patti, I would go for Houston, but as I've never been to either, does it count? lol Unless you want to fly over the Grand Canyon, which I've heard from my aunt, is FANTASTIC! Either way I'm green with envy, lol.
Going out tonight, bought three lovely tops, all in 18!!!! & They FIT!!!!!! BUt my upper arms are REALLY fat, do I go with the safe option, a red kimono top or a sexy maroon, wrap-over basque or black satin corset style top with thin straps? They all look nice but I'm scared people will laugh at my very fat upper arms, what do I do? Say stuff them & be brave? or play it safe? They all show off my waist, thanks to SBD is quite small for someone my size. Any, POLITE, lol, advice pls?

Lainy - :welcome2: I find that having this support group has made such a difference. It has really kept me on track when things have gotten tough.

Heather – I am so sorry about your toe!!! That sounds so painful. I think it is great that you have decided to maintain for awhile.

Jill – Congrats on the loss!

Lori – I eat some frozen stuff, but mostly from Trader Joe’s. I just find those Lean Cuisine meals so unsatisfying. I also have major trouble with the salt aspect. For lunch I bring the same thing everyday (which I know might hurt me because my body it used to it, but I just can’t seem to make myself change). I have a small salad, a cup of soup (usually organic tomato), a chicken breast, and some spinach or other veggie (today is broccoli). I have the coolest lunch box, which makes it really easy to pack it all up: http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h5...at/MrBento.jpg
I use the rice bowl for salad. I bring along a piece of fruit as well. I just had to show off my lunchbox.
;)

Patti – Las Vegas or Houston? Hmmmm. . . I don’t know. I have never been to either place. If it were me I would go to Austin. I have wanted to see what that town is like.

Well, I have gone and gotten myself into a pickle of a situation. As you all know, things have been really rocky with my BF recently. We are going to counseling and I have been pretty ready to leave. So I have been scanning craigslist to see what kind of apartments are out there, and yesterday I found this interesting opportunity. It is a room at a bed and breakfast (very cute place) that they are willing to rent for part-time work. It is only 5 miles away from work (currently I live 20 miles away) I will instantly be gaining 5 hours of driving time. It would be so cool to not have rent in exchange for some extra bookkeeping. So I emailed them my resume yesterday and the manager wrote me back saying I looked like a good fit. I am going over there today for a preliminary interview. Ack! I didn’t mean for things to move this fast, but it felt like the right thing to do. It may not work out, but right now I am so keyed up about it.

I was so stressed about this last night that I ended up eating mindlessly for the first time in a long time. I feel kind of bad about that, but I don’t want to be too hard on myself. This is a very stressful thing for me. I feel really bad for going forward with this while my BF and I have just started counseling. Actually it could work out very well if they were willing to do a trial of a month or two. If I am not paying rent in the new place I can keep paying rent at my current apartment and my BF and I can have a trial separation. I will wait to talk to him about it after this afternoon. I don’t want to start talking about this if it doesn’t end up working out for some reason.

Also, I forgot to say I was down a pound yesterday at my weigh in. I was hoping for two (which I saw Tuesday), but that's ok.

Sharon, you should take a photo of yourself in each and post them! We'd all vote I'm sure! Personally, I NEVER wear tops that show my upper arms. My arms are HUGE - in my opinion, the worst part of my body and that includes the saggy baggy cellulite thighs and the STILL-50-inch hips! I don't show them, not because I worry about what anyone else thinks, but because I hate them. I have, rarely, gone in little cami tops, but only at yoga or if it was REALLY hot and I took off the shirt I had over it for a bit. I note only one of those tops you preceded with the word "sexy". So, sight unseen, that'd be my vote. If you think it's sexy then you'll feel sexy in it!

Patti - I LOVE Vegas!

Nancy-Sorry to hear you are having such problems with your BF, but the B&B does sound like exactly what you need. Not like you can't quit and move back if that's what works out! Congrats on the loss! A lb down is a lb down - not up - and that's what matters, right?

Mechelle: My dogs get all worried about packed boxes too. Poor Kittys. They will like it here though. Much warmer!

Brenda: Feel better soon.

Wyllen: Oh poor thing. I hope your toe gets to feeling better soon.

Lilion: WTG! I'm so proud of you for exercising! Good job. It is so hard to do daily. Keep it up.

Lori: Hang in there. I often feel like you do but, you are loved here and loose or not, we look forward to seeing how you are doing. I know because I haven't lost much of anything and they still treat me nice.

Patty: Yea UPS man! I myself would go with hubby!

JIlly: Yea! Congrats on -5.75 Wonderful. Keep up the great work.

Sandy: Hugs. Hope your feet feel better soon.

Lainy: Welcome! This is a wonderful place where you will get lots of support regardless of what you are going through. I started here at 505 and am not down very much at all but, they are all very supportive and loving. Please post as often as you feel like it.

Zelma and Lavandel: Hi girls. Long time no post! Nice to see you.

Sharon: I think you should wear whatever top you feel most comfortable in. Congrats on the smaller size. You rock.

Ammi: Hope your mouth is doing okay today after your pulled tooth yesterday. Hugs to you.

Well, I am doing okay. I have been exercising which is great for me. I feel happy about riding my bike daily no matter how small amount it is. It is better than not moving at all.

Blessing to you all my friends,
Annie

Woooo hooo!

I'm not here very often, so you guys probably don't remember me.....but my news has me dancing :carrot: so I just have to share! I hope its ok!
I've lost my first 50 pounds! Well actually 51!! It feels so wonderful!
I've been cheat free on Atkins since July 9th and I have been exercising with WATP. I do 5 miles a day, even though I break it down to a half mile at a time....its still 5 miles and its working! Also, I haven't had not even one little sip of pepsi max (diet pepsi) since the 9th of July! I am so proud of myself and so happy! I know I am going to reach my goal! I just know it!
Have a beautiful weekend everyone and thanks for letting me share my joy!

Well done Jilly on your fab loss :)

Well done to lady hawke on your amazing success too :)

I am chuffed as have done a 45 min walk today, thats a total of 95 minutes in last 4 days am pleased with that as exercise is something I have struggled to introduce. Knees still troublesome am worried but will try to ignore and just keep going with the exercise. Cals wise, am just under 2000 today, so still eating too many cals really, bet I don't lose weight on that much but have had such long days at work and no time to eat so then when I do eat very hard to control my portions etc!

Nancy - hope all works out ok flat/job/boyf wise, really hope that u get the outcome u want and it may be painful in the doing but when its time it will happen. Good luck with it x

sharon, wow on being a size 18, I wish!! I'm sure if u are in that size that your arms are not that fat, and that you will look sexy in whichever one you choose. I cover my arms and not becos i really think they are bad, but otherwise it knocks my confidence, I have a little lace shrug that I wear over my revealing tops which just covers the top of my arms, but doesn;'t ruin the shape of what I am wearing. I hate looking shapeless, or like I am a fat girl covering up - that really irks me, I want to go out looking proud of who I am - If I am gonna hide I may as well stay in!!!

This weekend aim to be lower in cals as I am at least not working long long days so don't need to get over hungry. I would love to be at least one pound down on monday. WIll get a walk in both days too that should help burn a few cals!

Have a great weekend all!!

Hello all! Been gone longer than I wanted but my computer was 'freezing' up on me and made it impossible to use. A friend of mine came over to look at it and showed me how to defragment some files and stuff to get it going again. I'm still new to the computer thing so I learned something new! :comp:
Yesterday was weigh in day and I am 4lbs. lighter!:D And all the snow that we got a while ago has melted so I started walking again. I live on a dead end street that is about a half mile long. I'm almost able to walk it front to back which would be a mile but I still run out of gas when I get three quarters of the way, my hips start to hurt and I feel like I'm walking in slow motion yet. I'll get better.:running:

:welcome: to all the new people... or who has come back!

Dogpal-Good going on your exercise efforts, sounds like you're doing well!:)

Heather- sorry about your yoga mishap, hope you heal quickly.

Lilion-:cp: YAY for the exercise! I know I probably hate it as much as you do,although I don't mind walking. Your "I wanna stay fat because..." contributions on the 100lb. club are funny:joker: thanks! I can't think of any good ones like that.

Brenda- Hope you shake the cold pretty soon.

Patti- NSV comes from surprising places sometimes, but always wonderful! As for the trip...I would go to Houston.

Jill-You're doing great!5.75 down is wonderful.:cp:  You must be very pleased with your efforts.

Nancy- I'm glad you were still able to lose a pound even with the stress of your BF situation, I hope things get better for you soon. :)

Ladyhawke- I don't think I've met you before but congrats on the 50lb. goal!!:D

Time to go figure what to make for dinner....later! Colleen

dogpal 12-15-2006 05:42 PM

Lilion: Me too! I can't seem to change it cause he is soooo cute.

Lady Hawke: I remember you! Glad to see you again. Congrats to you on such a wonderful loss. Sounds like you are definately on your way to a healthier you!

Nancy: Good luck on the BF and moving or not dilema. I know you will make the right choice for you. Best wishes.

Hope everyone is okay. We are having a horrid storm here in Northern Idaho. almost 1/2 of our shingles blew off our roof! UGH. We are going to use our homeowners insurance for this. It will be our first time ever of using it but a new roof will be about anywhere from $4000 to $7000. Hope Misti hasn't blown away over in Seattle.

Blessings all,
Annie

Colneen: Seems we were posting at the same time. LOL. Congrats to you on your exercise efforts as well. We can do this darn thing!
Blessings,
Annie
