:happ3: :turkey: Hi All,

I am sooooo tired that right now I am really not up to personal replies. BUT I hope to catch up tomorrow. Just wanted to tell you how I spent my anniversary. I made an appt to see the doc about my ulcers, but then had to cancel it because I had a call from Beth's school. She fell when running and smacked her face hard on the ground. They suspected she broke her nose  So Daren and I made our way to the hospital to meet the teachers there with Beth. After 6 hours we found out that we have to wait 6 days for the swelling on her nose to go down so that we will see if she has indeed broken her nose. She nearly bit through her bottom lip but it's going to heal on it's own. Her cochlear implant wasn't damaged, but she is so sore. She whacked her chin too and it's really swollen with a massive bruise :( All the time she kept saying sorry she spoiled my anniversary, silly sausage lol. When we got home and she had her pain killers we all had a sleep and when Daren and I woke up we finally got to give each other our cards and gifts :D He bought me a gorgeous teddy bear, and a really really beautiful gold charm bracelet. It came with a love heart charm on it, then he bought an elephant charm. He said it was because he knows I like elephants, but also because both charms together mean remember (elephant's never forget) how much he loves me (the heart) Isn't he romantic :D

So anyway, Beth is sore but will be ok and fingers crossed that her nose isn't broken. And apart from being tired, I am fine. Daren and I will go out one evening when she is better and have our anniversary meal then. I did take some pics but I will post them tomorrow. Take care all and for those that wished me a happy anniversary, :thanks: And to everybody, enjoy the rest of your Thanksgiving

Hugs,

Ammi :grouphug:

Hi Everybody! My dinner went well, dad seemed happy to be here, the dishes are all washed, not put away, but washed. I did ok. The pumpkin pie gets me every time.

Misti, How cool was your news!!!!! Fitting nicely into size L and seeing the future to a M
I am so proud of you and happy for you. It made me smile and made my heart feel good for you.

Ammi, Your poor daughter. :( She must have been in so much pain, embarrassed and felt guilty too cuz of your anniversary. I hope she's able to sleep. I feel terrible for her. I've had my nose broken before and it's the worse pain I think I've experienced. Poor kid, she may develop black eyes too. I did and they lasted forever. Tell her I'm thinking of her.
What a sweet thing Daren did. I just love gifts where they put some thought into it. And he certainly did. You'll have a great time when you get to go for your dinner. BUT, you were together. :)

Toofat4u, Good job on today. I hope your cold is getting better.

I'm off til tomorrow probably. Gonna catch some tv with dh and dd.

Okay, I need advice. Today I noticed my coffee had a horrible odor and taste and I almost gagged when I smelled the coffeepot.... like really stale stale stale. I scrubbed the pot and the filter holder... washed out the inside and all of it as much as I can, and ran white vinegar water through it. In fact I replaced the filter holder with an old one I had. But I can't get the stale smell out. It's funny that I never really noticed it until this morning all of a sudden. And it may not be as bad as it smells to me as I am super sensitive to bad smells and have a lot of allergies, etc. Anyway, now I have filled the reservoir with vinegar water and am leaving it set overnight. But I REALLY want coffee. Does anyone have any ideas as to how to get a stale smell out of the pot?

Thanks

StormieAngel - I had when people complain when they are already trim, my best friend is 5'6" and 135lbs or so and she conplains that she's overweight, she wants to be 120lbs! According to those hard to please BMI charts she is already healthly, pretty much a "perfect BMI"!! I wish more people could learn not to push their weights past what's healthly...I've even only going for a FINAL goal weight of 180lbs! Just cause I don't wanna do anything more extreme than that. I wish those people who are already slim could just see it already! It really feels like a slap in the face when thin people say that THEY are overweight to ME. Ugh.

Misti - I know what you mean about losing inches in that area, around my bust/back I've lost 7", lol! But with me being average sized there I *hope* it's all coming from around the back, and NOT upfront!

Hi Ladies - Hope all of you in the US had a nice Thanksgiving. :) I didn't eat much yesterday, about 800 calories, but it was because I was soooo very tired and went to bed before dinner. I woke up at 3am and I'm wide awake - and hungry! My sleeping patterns stink! Well, if John and I have the funds tomorrow we might go out to a nice lunch, maybe our monthly Chinese treat. :D Scale was nice to me - I checked when I woke up at 3! - so hopefully I will have a nice weigh-in. :) I think I'm FINALLY done my month long TOM, so I should feel better in the exercise department soon. I also upped my monthly goal! I added on about 50 strength training minutes, and about 200 cardio minutes for this month. :o Now I gotta get out there and do it! :) Hope everyone is well - stay OP chickies!

Melissa

toofatforu 11-24-2006 08:07 AM

well i am up 1 pound today but i must say i am happy with that because it could have been sooo much worse!a little bit of exercise and a whole lot of water should take care of that right? hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving!
Ammi i hope Beth is doing much better today!

Misti in Seattle 11-24-2006 09:26 AM

Melissa and Patti, glad you did well in the scale department. :) :woohoo:

Melissa, I am laughing at your comments... I am hoping the weight DOES come off the FRONT section, tee hee. Unfortunately at the beginning I did not measure the under the bust thing but based on other stuff I am sure it is probably about 10 inches I have lost there all together! The actual bust measurement is down 9.5 inches from first time I measured, which was after I had lost about 25 pounds. WOW I was HUGE there before!!! As I am still really big there. If I could get rid of this huge boob and stomach front on me I would be looking pretty good by now LOL! Just gotta keep busting butt though!!! Puff puff :ebike: Actually there is not too much butt left to bust... can you say "bust boob" ???

toofatforu 11-25-2006 09:36 AM

good morning everyone. i hope you had a great thanksgiving if you celebrate! i have one more day.. today.. to get through. i had a nice surprise on my scales this morning and am actually down a few more pounds! thank you FFM!

Hello Ladies

MIA Its been quite awhile since I have posted and will be back soon.
I've been going through some of the postings and congrats are in order. Here are some of the ones I noticed and remember from before when I was posting on 3FC are:

Ammi 90 lbs.:carrot:
Misti 70 lbs.:carrot:
Toofatforu 64 lbs.:carrot:

I'm sorry if I missed anyone. It will take awhile for me to catch up.

Ammi how is Beth doing hope her nose isn't broken. And a belated Happy Anniversary.:val2: Your DH Daren sounds like a great guy. To think of the two charms and put them together to mean Never forget how much he loves you. And thanks alot for the PM's.

Xena2005 Happy Belated Birthday on Nov. 24th

Alot has been happening around my household my boyfriend was in and out of the hospital and then rehab since mid-June and now he is home. I don't know if you remember he has Multiple Sclerosis. I went completely off program and I'm trying to gearning myself up to begin my weight loss journey.:crossed:

I'm looking at after the New Year joining WW again and get back to a more heathy eating and I'm going to start saving for a Gazelle [seems like the perfect machine for me especially that it folds up to put out of the way]

Well I hope to post again soon. Wishing everyone the very best. Keep it up chickies.

Elaine:hug:

Vilandra485 11-25-2006 12:13 PM

Gazelle Girls - How big is the Gazelle when it's folded? I have limited space and I don't want to get one if it still too big for my space when it's folded. Thanks ladies. :)

AmmiUK 11-25-2006 12:59 PM

Hello All,

I am pleased to report that Beth is much better, so much better that she has gone to the movies with her boyfriend and then is spending the weekend at her dads. She is still a bit sore but some TLC from her BF I am sure will help her forget all about that. We still don't know if her nose is broken, but time will tell. If it is, then it won't be a huge break or anything because that kind of thing show up straight away swelling or not :dizzy:

I just posted 3 pics on the photo page. One of Beth in what Patti and I have dubbed as Beth's Marcia Brady photo  One of Daren's new tattoo, and one of Daren and me on our anniversary. We were both worn out after all that time at the hospital but I still wanted a photo of us during the quiet part of the occasion

Patti - :congrat: on losing some more of those pesky lbs, you really are on a roll :cp:

Elaine - yay you posted here :cp:  So wonderful to see you on the main thread again.

I am sorry that your BF hasn't been doing well of late, but it's good news that he is home again now. It's understandable that you fell off the wagon. But now you just have to get Christmas out of the way, enjoy it, then be ready for that New Years resolution to get back OP  I hope Santa brings you a Gazelle Rider for Christmas, or at least a nice bit of money to put towards buying one yourself

Sandy - I am glad you had a good Thanksgiving even if you did let the Pumpkin Pie get to you  I have never even tried it, but just hearing the name of it makes me want to have a huge plate of it. I am determined to be in the US one year for Thanksgiving purely so I can try it :D

I am sorry that you have had a broken nose in the past, did you have to get it re-set or anything horrid like that? I am hoping that the fact that Beth hasn't ended up with two big black eyes is a good sign that she hasn't actually broken her nose :crossed:

Thanks for the anniversary wishes, it's a shame we spent so much time at the hospital, but it certainly made the day a memorable one

Thank you, finally my ulcers are clearing up. I went to the docs armed with info from the Net. Comes to something when you have to tell your own doctor how to treat your ailments. I suggested steroid lozenges/pellets, he agreed, and I have only taken 4 but already the ulcers have nearly gone!!! They aren't tablets you swallow either so there is no chance of weight gain with them either :cheer:

Sue - that's great that you got your bronze medal. I am nearly half way there, and provided they will send one to me in the UK, I will definitely order my own medal when the time comes. What a great idea the Presidential Challenge is!

Sorry I have never owned a coffee pot, I'm an instant coffee gal, fill the jug with water, put a spoon of granules in your cup etc. Mind you I only drink one cup a week of that  So I am sorry I can't help you with your quest to rid your pot of the stale smell. I know when I want to clean out the smell of the microwave or fridge I put some bicarbonate of soda on a damp cloth and use that. It works a treat, so maybe you could wipe out the inside of your jug with it, leave it on for a while and then give it a good rinse?

Kymberly - I guess if I am honest, Daren's tattoo is cool, I just have to get used to seeing one that size on his arm. AND it's got to the point where the scabs are falling off and it's GROSS

Lilion - loved your most recent picture on the photo page. I tell you if I looked as good as you I wouldn't be dieting any more, I would just be maintaining :D That dress was gorgeous!

Lori - it's ok, I am not being hard on Daren about the tattoo. I encouraged him to get it, and I paid for it, I just have to get used to how big it is  It's something he has wanted for a long time, and I figured letting him go for it would be a good way to thank him for being my friend, husband, and private nurse, therapist, and house husband during my long illness, surgeries and recoveries over the years since we met

What is your tattoo of?

StormieAngel - sorry this is a bit belated but :wel3fc: lovely to have you here. I am sure we all know where you are coming from when you say that it's nice to find people in the same boat, with the same weight loss challenges ahead of us. No skinny minnies here saying how fat they are  Don't you just want to slap them! You can't help but think if they think they are fat what must they thing WE are??

Colleen - I am sure that this time you will lose the weight, enjoy the rewards AND keep the weight off.

Thanks for the anniversary wishes, we did have a lovely quiet evening after the drama of the day, and the following day we had a meal out and did some Christmas shopping, so that was nice :D

Sandy (chiema) - :congrats: well done on losing the lb. Fingers crossed :crossed: that it will stay gone, or if not, that it will soon go again!

Missy - I just asked hubby because I am useless with measurements, but he reckons the Gazelle folds up so that it's a foot deep. I tuck mine into a gap that'a a foot and a half deep and there's room to move it about. The only thing is that mine fits against a book shelf, and a sofa, if you were going to put it behind a door or something then you have to allow extra space for the curve of the handles. Not much though.

Sharon - how are you feeling, still your normal happy self? Did you weigh this morning, how did it go?

Brenda, Nancy, Kayley, Heather, Valerie, Annie, Michelle, Zelma, MariaLucia, Ange, Jen, Brandnewme, Katt, Amy, and all you other lovely ladies  Hope you are all having a lovely weekend and that Thanksgiving was a delightful day

Ooooh I forgot two great NSVs I had since last time I posted. First of all when I was at the hospital I met one of Beth's teachers who had taken her to the ER. I haven't seen her in a year or more, and she said she barely recognised me, and couldn't get over how much weight I have lost. She is a big lady herself, so I am expecting to be asked via Beth how I did it

Secondly, today I went to ASDA (like Walmart) and bought myself a pair of nice warm PJs. They go up to a UK 24 there, but the PJs I wanted were only up to a 22. I decided to get them anyway, I thought if they didn't go near me now then I know they would soon enough. BUT they fit me. So not only did I have the thrill of buying clothes from a normal shop, but in a size 22 :D I am one happy lady about that :cheer:

Ok I have to run now, got to make tea, mushroom and garlic pizza, Take care all,

Hugs,

Ammi :grouphug:

colneen 11-25-2006 01:43 PM

Hello all! Thursday was weigh in day for me and this week I stayed the same...of course that was before dinner!! I guess I did'nt do too bad. My sister makes the best green bean casserole and I could'nt pass it up.

Misti-:woohoo: Congrats on the new pants size!!! You're making great progress and an inspiration to me. I remember moments like that in past weight loss efforts for me and can hardly wait for them again. Keep up the good work. Thanks for the information on the Gezelle.

Patti- Sounds like you handled the Thanksgiving feast rather well. As for myself I won't go near the scale for a while.;)

Ammi- Your hubby is soo sweet!! And I feel so bad for Beth, poor thing, glad she is doing better.

Well, more later from me. I have some errands to run, bye for now.
Colleen.

Hello ladies,

Well, there is no way I can get caught up, as I haven't popped in for quite awhile. I hope everyone is having a nice weekend. The weather has been beautiful here, so I spent quite a long time walking today.

I'll go back now and read some of the threads I've missed, so that I can be a little more productive when I post next. :)

toofatforu 11-25-2006 06:04 PM

Ammi i love Darins tatoo and you and he make such a cute couple!

toofatforu 11-25-2006 07:14 PM

thanks colneen it sure was tough to get through but i am determined to lose this weight! one day at a time pound by pound if i have too.

Misti in Seattle 11-25-2006 10:15 PM

Hi everybody. Wow I have been lazy this weekend and there is not much exercise to report! My friend and I were going walking this morning at 6:30 since the pool was not open. I drove to her house (about 20 mins away) and we were going to do her one-hour walk up her big hill. We just set out and ice started coming down and we knew a storm was supposed to come in so we decided I had best get back home quickly. I did go for a short walk from home but just didn't feel up to it so have had a very lazy day.

Elaine, it's great to see you back again!

Ammi, I love the pix! Thanks for posting them. You are looking great! And congratulations on being halfway to the bronze medal! That is super! And if they won't send you one, you can have it sent to my address and I will send it to you. :) I still need to order mine! My percentage slid back down to 47% now that I am working for the silver. It doesn't go up as quickly since I have to get 45,000 points!!

As for the coffee pot I talked to someone else who had that happen and she tried everything in the world to get the musty smell out. They even make special cleaners for it but she said it didn't work and she ended up just throwing it out and getting a new one... so that is what I did too. I figured it would cost me more to go buy coffee every day than the new pot would cost... fortunately I found one on a really good sale.

Jen, good to see you again too!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

:grouphug:

Sue
