Hi lilion, thanks for the welcome to all of us new people:)
hi wezi' & katt,I don't know how you can keep track of everybody it's still overwhelming to me. And to all of you ,I am reading what you've had to say but honestly I am still not sure i'm able to remember who's who yet please forgive me.:dizzy: Work went well today and I'm not as tired as I usually am. Still have my Mon day backache. I'm glad tomorrow is election day so we can get it over with! I'm tired of finding all those campign messages dumped on my answering maching when I get home.:bomb: well, I've got other stuff that needs to be done, bye for now. colleen. |
JILLY - SO pleased to hear that you are ok after your accident. I hate Mondays so can understand how you feel about them and whenever one starts off well I spend the day waiting for the other shoe to drop lol. Glad you have insurance to cover everything ... I really think there are some really stupid drivers out there that just dont think about other drivers at all . in fact they just dont think at all. Big Huggies. Make the baking an UNBIRTHDAY treat ... or a Happy Anniversary Phil Donohue (Nov 6 67 he started his show in Ohio .. before it was syndicated in Chicago) ... orrr .. Happy Birthday to Sally Field, Glenn Frey, Nigel Havers, Maria Shriver, Peter DeLuise & Ethan Hawke ... or have a look online for some other event or something lol .. there is always a reason to celebrate every day .. heck .. celebrate being back at work and not getting injured in the accident :) Huggies! Youre also halfway through the season that you are in apparently according to the Gregorian calendar (so either Autumn or Spring lol .. I dont think that works any more cos our seasons are all over the place lol). Its also the Official Guided By Voices Day in Dallas Texas lol
ANGEL - I have Disco Sweat ... the only Oldies ones I have seen available online on DVD are the Sweatin with the Oldies .. its in 2 parts I think .. wonder if that is like the one that you have?? I have seen it on Amazon. For Disco Sweat it took me a couple of weeks to get co-ordinated enough to keep up lol .. but it was well worth it :) The only difficulties that TOM gives me (and yes I think Aunt Flo is right too lol) is that its not consistant .. it will appear for a day .. or half a day .. then go for a few days .. then come back for a day or two .. then go .. then I get it properly .. it has been like that pretty much the whole time I have had it .. makes it very frustrating for me .. fortunately its only really when its here fully that I get the pain and cravings .. still .. its most of the month that gets taken up with it .. grrrr BRENDA - Hi hun .. wtg on your new job .. sounds like it got off to a good (albiet long) start lol ... hope you have a lovely week :) AMMI - The only reason I knew the arms could be adjusted to stop them moving is because I was trying to find my one online and I think I found the right one but it said the arms could be set to stop moving and I couldnt figure out how to do that as the arms were attached to the foot pedals lol . fortunately when I was on it and looking down wondering if I need to get some sort of protective padding for my boobs that I saw where the darn arms could be put into where they wouldnt move rofl. My boobs are extremely grateful .. now I just have to get my legs to not be angry with me rofl. Okee .. you got me pinchin the skin on the back of my hands now .. IM OLD! rofl suddenly that story about the saggy baggy elephant seems so much more understandable roflmao. Still .. would rather is sag than bulge :) Love the Love Boat as well .. Im sure it will come out on dvd at some point lol .. we have different TV series on DVD (CSI, Law & Order, SVU, CI, Magnum PI, Columbo, Charmed, just got Angel, Coupling .. and a BUNCH of Dr Who lol) ... there are a few other ones I would like to see and get .. still need to get some of the other seasons of the ones I have that I know are out there .. but I have to wait for the last Charmed to come out so I have that whole series ... Would love to get the Poirot and Miss Marple ones some time too lol .. I remember LHOTP .. My mum used to make clothes for us kids when we were little .. and I had a few dresses like Laura Ingles lol .. I even had the bonnet!! I used to get called Holly Hobby tho lol .. Good luck on getting the ones that you want :) ANNIE - Good luck with your op .. please take it easy and you will recover 100% in no time :) Huggies MELISSA - Since I started exercising my calves have gone UP half an inch .. lol .. very annoying ... funnily enough even tho it looks like my thighs have gone down according to the measurements they have gone up half an inch too ... although I think its because of where I measure ... top of the leg below the butt ... Im sure the rest of the thigh IS actually going down .. should really measure there too I suppose? Good luck! Will look forward to seeing the boots :) SANDY - Dont think that I dont crave the naughty things .. I do .. I just make sure my menu plan can include a treat every day in case I want one .. instead of going over my cal intake .. some days I want savoury .. other days I want sweet .. so I make sure to "save" a set amount of calories each day in case the craving strikes .. I will have days . maybe a week where I dont have the urge .. then I will have 3-4 days in a row where i have a treat. As for the chips ... I get those included by getting the multi bags? Do you have them over there?? There are I think about 15-16 mini bags of chips, and each one could be say 100 calories .. to a point wasted I suppose .. BUT ... it helps curb the urge .. and its a set amount .. not like a big bag where I wouldnt be as good as you making it last that long lol .. I have had a multi bag in my cupboard for over a month now ... and there are still about 5 bags left (and I gave some to my hunny for him to take home too). Great that youre stubborn hun .. now you just need to apply that stubborness to your weight loss journey .. set your limits and use that stubborn streak to stick to it .. its not will power .. to me that is something else .. when you are truely stubborn its usually only you that can decide your train of thought or actions even tho outside influences will try to change them .. will power .. is an internal ability to withold yourself from temptation entirely .. I have no will power lol .. sooo my stubborness will allow me to get things in my life within a safe range rather than my original binging range. Good luck hun! Good news about your SDs wedding plans .. Im sure that is a better outcome for you all :) As for getting time on here .. I pop in when I am either taking a break from cleaning or cross stitch .. or talking on the phone lol .. I am looking forward to getting a job if I can soon .. have a few applications out for the Xmas season ... just have to wait to hear from them .. argh! Very rude restaurant .. if I were you I would write a letter to the owner not the manager and let them know what happened.. makes you wanna pop em dont it lol .. COLLEEN - Hiya hun .. sorry I forgot to say Hi before .. like you know its a little hard to keep up with everyone sometimes .. especially with so many lovely newbies joining in lol .. this site is a great exercise for the memory for sure rofl. Shocking to think that people can ring your home and leave election messages to vote etc .. that isnt allowed over here at all! Mainly cos I dont think kiwis would put up with it rofl . and the first party to do it would lose any chance of getting a vote rofl. Happy election day everyone that is having one ... can I ask what is the election for?? I really need to watch the news I suppose rofl.. |
Hey there. I am new here. I have enjoyed reading about your success. It really has moviated me. I am having a really bad month and I actually feel inspired now!!!!!
|
Katt LOL! Yes, I did want to pop that silly little boy of a manager.
That's why I was so proud of DH Yes, we have the little 100 calorie packs of stuff here. I'd never thought of looking for them with chips. I have had the oreo ones and nutterbutter ones. They are YUMMY! I'm so glad you mentioned allowing a treat daily. That makes perfect sense. Silly I didn't think of it. I got my fitday.com set up for tomorrow. That's a plus! Makes me feel like I'm more in control of my life. I even printed it out so I can take it to work with me. You girls are just the best. Thanks for all your good ideas and support. This is about the only place I've found in my life that doesn't treat me like a lower class person cuz of my weight! Hugs, Sandy ps, I will DH to write the letter to the owner of the restaurant. That's a great idea! |
:welcome: Crittle.

Wow, time can sure fly quickly! Last time I was online on 3FC was in February and now it is November! I did a lot of traveling for work this spring -- made 100k miles on my frequent flyer program for the first time in my life and I did it in 6 months. I got to see some interesting places tho...
I also got a new job -- changed from engineering to marketing. It's been kind of a big change -- I was in engineering/product development for 22.5 years & marketing has been a challenge -- a lot more people to deal with, for one. And, I started a MBA program which is incredibly time consuming. At the same time, I noticed my pants were fitting more tightly, the watch that used to slide around on my wrist is tight, and I huff and puff up and down stairs. I decided to join the health club here at work because it is only $3 every 2 weeks and I pass it when I go from my office to car -- so less excuses to not exercise. I figured I'd better get an idea of how bad things were, but I was shocked to get on the scale yesterday and see 266.6 on the scale :(. My low point was around the end of May when I was around 247. So, today I have started back logging my food, reading and participating in 3FC, and I'll be hitting the gym before I go home tonight. It is so cool to see everyone's posts -- both those I remember from my 3FC time before as well as the new folks. Jilly -- I'm so glad no one was hurt in your accident! I t-boned a car about 3 years ago that jumped out in front of me -- I stepped on the brakes, but I still hit them. It freaked me out so bad that I forgot what number to use to dial the P.D.! Ammi -- your new pix (probably it is 6 months old :)) looks great!!! |
NSV time for me!!! Right now, I am wearing my very first pair of knee high boots!!!! :D:D:D:D A year ago, I could DEFINATELY not have worn them!!!! :D
Missy - I noticed 2 inches gone from my calves within 2 months, but I was doing a lot of dancing, which involved a LOT of jumping around! I noticed that my calves leaned up a lot...they are more muscular (but not in that gross way), and not so much flabby anymore! :) Jill - SO GLAD YOU ARE OKAY!!! And glad you have good insurance (or rather he does), so that they'll pay for the repairs! |
CRITTLE - Welcome on board hun!! Be prepared for a great adventure and a long journey ... but keep remembering that the goal is health and long life ... its worth the journey :)
ELMAY - Welcome back! I hope you enjoy the continuation of your journey .. sounds like you have had a pretty adventurous year so far ... did you leave the US or was it all travelling within it??? SANDY - Great job on getting your eating plan sorted out for tomorrow .. that is a lot more organised than me rofl ... well done on your planning ahead tho .. Im sure that will help a lot :) |
KAYLEY .. forgot to add .... . WOOOOOHOOOOOO Sexy legs!! rofl ... great news hun about your boots .. Im sure you have every reason to be chuffed about that ... I have tried some on in the last few years and barely got them past my ankle lol .. maybe that could be a goal for next winter :) Wheres the piccys???

has any one heard from Zelma lately?

Hi All
Cloneen I am so with you I cannot began to keep, maybe with time, but I doubt it. Katt (I think it was Katt), you are goooood at posting to everyone indivisually. Misti how is the gazelle going? I did get back on track today. Ate pretty darn good and got in the 20 min workout with Turbo Jam. Hope tomorrow is as good. |
Thought I’d pop back on real quick….
Ammi, thanks for asking. I believe the nephew went home this week! I’m glad, but he’s got a long way to go! Jilly, you poor thing! I’m glad you aren’t hurt…but if you get all sore tomorrow don’t even think about NOT reporting it. Make yourself a good paper trail and go to the Dr if you feel bad. Angel, thanks! I’ve actually seen this same picture on a t-shirt. I just got it by browsing thru Yahoo images of faries. Sandy, That’s just horrible how you were treated and you should write an e-mail to Red lobster on line. I’ve never had them not be receptive to that. Also I’d call tomorrow and find out who the Owner or General Manager is…the little snot you spoke with is NOT in charge. That all being said, and please don’t take offense, but are you sure it wasn’t just generally rotten service? I’ve been treated badly before but never assumed it had anything to do with my weight. I am incredibly thick-skinned though. I just tend to live by the motto: Never attribute to malice what can be explained by stupidity. Colneen, I’m with you!!! I am so SICK of the horrible negative political ads! I swear I may vote for some nobody running as an independent tomorrow rather than the two pieces of excrement that are heading up our senatorial race. Crittle – WELCOME!!! Elmay, WELCOME BACK! Got to run! to everyone! |
Just one quick last post before I head out to the gym and then home for homework :).
Kayley, congratulations on your new boots! That is so awesome! (One of the reasons I am getting off my butt is that I really want to go downhill skiing this year, and I am afraid there is no way I can get a ski boot on at the moment.) Nightkatt, I got to go to some interesting places -- India, China (twice), Hong Kong, Korea, Spain, and Japan. This was all on business, so I didn't hit the tourist spots, but it was interesting nonetheless. India was amazing -- the poverty (people living under tarps) and wealth side-by-side. China was amazing just to be there -- having grown up during the Cold War, I didn't ever think I would get "behind the bamboo curtain." |
So many people!
Welcome back, Elmay! Cool travels. I had a chance to live in China and Japan each for 2 months in 2004. Very cool experience. I invite all the new people to join us in our 300+ exercise thread. It's fun! Set a goal of MINUTES to exercise each month. Track your progress on the thread! What's really fun is that we have a challenge going to exercise 200,000 minutes for the year. We are on track but need all the help we need to stay on track! So, really, you're helping everyone ELSE as well as yourself!! :D Jill -- glad to hear you're safe after the accident! Too many to remember!!! |
Good evening, chickies.
Ammi - No way I would ever think you a pest, my dear! I am sorry to hear you didn't lose but it sounds like you have a good plan to remedy that situation. With you Gazelle-ing and Misti getting ready too it is making me wish I had something at home to work out on. I just don't have the room for it though. Oh well, the Y is less than a mile from my house so that really shouldn't be an excuse. Katt - You are not the only one who is seeing age in her hands. I am noticing mine looking less toned as well and it is disturbing to me, particularly since I really haven't lost any weight! I remember as a young teenager my grandmother would hold my hand and look at it and say, "You have such pretty young hands. I wish mine still looked like that." Now I feel like I am getting Granny-Hands!!!! wezi - Thanks for the info on the WATP 4 mile. I know that physically I am not up for that yet. I can do the 1 and 2 mile and can do the 3 mile once in a while. So I will plan to work up to the 4 mile, eventually! Raven - How do you do your bellydance workout? Is it a DVD? I'd love to have the name of it if it is. Mostly I plan to work out at home for awhile before getting back to the gym so I'm trying to get a good mix of different DVD's to do so I don't get bored. Elmay - I noticed you said you were getting your MBA. How is that going? I am considering going back for mine as well. I work full time and would continue to do so, so school would definitely have to be on a part time basis. I'd love to hear your take on MBA school when or if you ever have time. Misti - How frustrating an 8 week plateau must be!!! Don't give in. You have lost alot of weight and your body must be needing to adjust to the changes. One thing a WW leader suggested to us to break plateaus is to switch up what you are eating, especially if you tend to eat the exact same thing everyday. Or if you tend to have dinner be your biggest meal switch it up and make breakfast your biggest meal. Just some ideas. I don't really have any experience with a true plateau....all of mine were self-induced by bad behavior! Not much going on here for me. I am watching (TIVO'ing) the CMA awards tonight so will be getting back to that as soon as I am done here. For the American Idol fans, Carrie Underwood has performed and is nominated for the Horizon Award (for newcomers to country music). I was never a CU fan. Good voice, blah performance on AI and tonight as well. It was so cute though because she is there with Anthony Federov as her date. Later Kellie Pickler is going to be on. Kellie Pickler! Bleckkkkkkkk!!!!! Apologies to any KP fans, but I strongly disliked her personality and thought her voice was mediocre at best. OK, I am off. Have a great night! |
