hi everybody! i just registered to use the site and am hoping that everything is working and that i am doing this right. i have been reading things on here for a few days and finally decided to register so that i can talk with everyone. i did fill out the bio stuff, but just thought i'd write a little so you know i'm here and find out from you all how to use the site and things that you find helpful.
i'm looking for motivation and support--support mostly. i'm motivated cuz my husband and i want to start a family. i need the support cuz my family and friends are in nebraska and i'm in st. louis, mo. my friends here are either health nuts or don't need the same weight loss that i do. and my husband---i love him to pieces, but he's a freaking stick with the metabolism of a 15 year old! he can eat anything and never gain a pound. he can almost fit into jeans he wore in high school! (which i threw out by the way! i was so disgusted!:barf:) anyway, i don't really feel alone here, but i know myself well enough to know that the more support the better. also, just to let you know, i found out recently that i have hypothyroidism and started medication for that. it's been about a month now and i can really tell i have more energy and it's a lot easier to get to the gym and workout. i feel like i'm in a better mood and my husband says i seem happier.
anyway, i think that's about it for right now. i'm excited to be on here finally and can't wait to get to know everyone better! when i figure out how to post pictures i'll do that. take care and thanks for reading! lori

Hi Lori,

:wel3fc: glad to have you here. You have definitely come to the right place for all the support you will ever need. I have been on countless diets since I was 18, so that's for 20 years, and never have I been able to stick to one for long. This time though, with the help of all the wonderful people here I am doing fantastically well, and I just know I will get to my ultimate goal. I am sure you will too, especially with the thought of a little baby as your reward :cp:

Come post on the daily thread, I think we are on 300+ And Ready to Try Again #1034 at the moment. Hope to see you there,

Hugs,

Ammi :dizzy:

Hello and welcome! Glad you have joined us!

Glad you are getting the thyroid meds working. I can tell you from experience... had half of mine removed because of a tumor... it makes a huge difference! Sounds as if you are on the right path.

I wish you the best on your weight loss!

Lori - Welcome to 3FC! Finding a group of people to talk to about your weight loss journey is a integral part of keeping on track (for me at least). It is hard when the people around you don’t understand what it is like to be overweight and to deal with the emotional parts of it. Please feel free to dive right in on the main chat thread.
