Amy - I started yesterday. Every day i will find something i can do to make me lose weight. be it squeezing in an extra 30 mins of excersize or SOMETHING.
this fat will not stand man! |
Ammi - Thanks so much for the welcome! I can't get enough of Jane Green. I think I own every book she's written and I've ready most of them now. I went on an ebay spree a couple of years ago and bought them all after reading Jemima J.
Violet - Thanks for the welcome! What prompted the move to Kansas City. Maybe we can get an area group going and get together sometime after you get here. If you ever feel like coming to Lawrence for the day, let me know and I could show you around without getting lost. :) Thanks for referring me to Torrid.com. I hadn't seen that site before. . . didn't know they made clothes that would fit me that looked like that :) It's awesome! |
dude i LOVE torrid. sign up for thier mailing list. they will email you when thier clearance section is 50% off. its like once a month. YAY! also, Oldnavy.com has a womens plus section that is cool too.
|
Awesome! Thanks for the hints. Those will be the first places I go when I feel like spending money on some new clothes. My jeans are already falling off, but for now, I can fix the problem with a belt. Not for a lot longer though.
|
Ammi - Am I hoping to lose 5 or more on Tuesday? I'll be happy with 2!! If I had to be optimistic I'd love 4 pounds....but I think 2 is pushing it honestly. (2 a week, every week to make my Hallowe'en goal though.) I love Dice City Roller, too!! :) That darn Quick Quack badge, lol...I'm at 59/100 still!
kimpossible - When I stopped having junk food in May I got what I said were 'withdrawl' headaches; I'm sure that's what they were cause when I have something sugary now (example: yesterday while having a couple sips of pure pineapple juice) I get a huge headache. At least I know my body is used to being quite "sugar-free"! Hi Ladies - Got in some walking today...about 30 minutes worth. Having a good day..eating OP foods, walking, etc. :) So I had fun browsing the mall with John today - things have REALLY picked up for us...we are acting like when we first got together, its so nice! Now I know there will be many more bumps, but it's nice that later on we can look back to this section of are relationship and say "We had so much fun then", you know? :) Well as we were leaving the mall I bought a 'scratch-n-win' ticket to do at home..got home and did it...and won $50!! (It was only $3!) I don't know that is to you all, but it's a lifesaver to us, lol, we were broke from wanting to go out to lunch today (Subway - healthly!) and buy a couple small things we needed, so it was nice to be "replenished" for our day out! But going out and doing those little things together are what keeps us happy, so we don't mind. :D Anywho, I will stop blabbing, lol! Hope everyone is doing well! Stay OP chickies!! Melissa |
Luan--You are going to do frackin' AWESOME on your challenge. I have so much faith in you. YOU ROCK MY SOCKS!! Yeah!! I will have to consider doing that myself after I establish my eating/excercising habits a little better. :D
Amanda--My boyfriend moved down there a year and 1/2 ago. I am tired of doing the LD thing!! But I am proud of us that we have lasted over 2 years and only 6 mos of that was spent living in the same town! ;) Yes, a local group like that sounds really awesome! I would love to come to Lawrence and see the sights sometime after I get settled! That would be really fun. Were you brought up in Lawrence then, or are you a "transplant"? :D Nightkatt--It sounds like you have been busy! Good to hear you got a house for your dad and the timing will work out. I think it sounds really nice and he will like it, judging by what you have said he wants. I dont think there is anything wrong w/eating breakfast at 10:30! Just have lunch around 2 and adjust it from there, ya know? I think you are doing GREAT!! :cp: Great job on doing the workout video TWICE! That is amazing! They are like hour long videos arent they?? That is too cool!! :carrot: Yes, it will be interesting to see if you start feeling better and actually dont need the Prozac. That is very weird that you had that and didnt know. It would be great if you didnt have to be on medication. I dont necessarily like popping pills all the time, but for me I am glad to have them as they do make me feel better. Oh and I know all about getting winded doing small things! I'll be happy when I can cross my leg to tie my shoes instead of sitting on the bed or putting my foot up on a chair! :D As for me, I got my workout in at Curves. It went really well. I started to get kind of sick during part of it but then it went away. Not sure if I told y'all or not but I had been having problems with getting naseous during my workout. Probably just working my tummy muscles harder than thier flabby selves are used to. :p Anyway, I havent had that problem at all lately except a little today. So that must mean I am getting more acclimated to doing excercise on a regular basis! Sweet! I know it hasnt felt like such a chore lately. It still works me out really well but I dont feel like I'm going to drop any minute, though! I even did an extra station! The trainer and I were talking and I just kept going around the circle...until I realized "hey, I shouldve stopped back there" :o Hey, nothing wrong w/that. I had like 13 points leftover for dinner so I had grilled cheese sandwiches and a fruit cup. All OP and in my points range, but still kind of naughty with it being all processed food, etc.:nono: Well, what can I say? I guess it's better than going off plan. But I need to start planning better so I eat more veggies. :carrot: My sister showed me the pics from the wedding and they are SO cute!! The ones with the two of us w/our heads together and our boquets up by our faces are SO cute. :queen: :D I'll have to post the one she emailed me. I think I am going to bed, girlies. I am just really tired. I appreciate you all and think you are wonderful! Have a great night!! |
well, i did something today i haven't done in years- no, decades: I jogged. *gasp*:running:
It wasn't very far at a time (about 50-60 ft. or so) but I thought I'd give it a go. I've never been one to run, even when I was younger and thinnner, but I'd really love to just be able to break to into a run once in a while. I ran four times up the trail and 4 times back- walked the rest. It wasn't pretty, I'm sure. There was a lot flopping, shifting and jiggling, but my heart didn't pound and I wasn't out of breath. That was excitement for the day. Hope y'all had a good one. |
Violet - I was born in Kansas City but have lived in Lawrence since I was 6 months old. It's a great place to raise a family and I plan on doing that here someday.
News- Congratulations on the jogging! I wish my knees were well enough that I could do that again. Maybe as the weight begins to come off, my knees will hate me less :) |

Hi, I had to move my ticker today as I LOST ANOTHER POUND!!!! Steve wants to go for a curry tonight instead of Saturday so official weigh-in was moved to today. One more pound to go to be at my lightest in 5 years!!!! AND I was only there for a week!!lol, I gained after that, here's to being the weight I was 11 years ago when I met Steve (220)!!!
Zelma, I hope you are feeling ok now, it seems a bit extreme to go all of that coz you aren't absorbing B12 (?) in the Uk you would have to be REALLY, really ill for anyone to do anything, guess your healthcare is better than ours? Hope you are soon back to your normal cheery, healthy selfxxxxx Nancy, I have heard of it, a friend at college (a VIRGIN!!) had similar probs but hers MOVED rather than came down. I know others have said it but DON'T LIFT WEIGHTS!!!! Not until your Doc says so, after all if you want kids & a decent s*x life it will be worth waiting til things settle down-I don't know what they do to stop a prolapse if rest doesn't help. As long as you keep OP a week or two with a bit of walking or other exercise, if you can, will still see a good loss.xxxxx Annie, I prefer to see your cute face to the cute pups in your avatar!!!!!lol Great going on the bike & healthy eating.xxxx Kim, well I know how you feel, my hubby often shouts at me when things go wrong, he wonders later why I won't talk to him!!!! Oh yes, reaching for that old comfort zone of greasy, fatty or sweet foods, thanbk goodness the shouting was out of character or your diet would really suffer, as it is ONE MEAL DOESN'T A DIET BREAK!!!!or something like that.xxxxx Violet, SO GLAD YOUR KITTY HAS A GREAT NEW HOME!!!! It must be such a relief! At least you know he'll get to keep his claws, lol. I am TOTALLY with you on the butchering of pets' bodies, my mum bought a Spaniel cross puppy when I was a kid and she REFUSED to have his tail docked, it is now ILLEGAL in the UK to do it anymore, even if it's a vetinary (sp?)doing it!! WOHOO Katt, glad you got your dad's home sorted out, now you just have to make sure he's more careful with lady-friends, lol. I'm so glad you are enjoying Richard's dvd, twice in one day????? Sorry about the Glandular fever but if you end up not needing the meds it must be great to know WHY you felt so ill, rather than thinking you were really depressed.xxxx xxxsharon |
Got in a 37 minute walk tonight - I've passed my monthly exercise goal!!! :carrot:
Melissa |
way to go voodoo! no visit for me from the ffm but i am holding my own . maybe next week!
|
I am glad someone is holding their own. I am up two again from what I was yesterday, for a total of up 3 from what I was before I gained the 5 pounds last week. This is really ridiculous! !!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sharon, great new photo!!! |
it is ridiculous how this works! i cant eat much more less than i do now and not be hungry! oh well just got to take it on the chin and keep at it!
|
Hi all! I've been doing pretty good. Yesterday I got in 100 minutes of exercise! I was dangerously close to not meeting my exercise goal for this month but it looks like I'll make it as I only have 48 minutes left. I've also been eating pretty well. I am also going to be looking out for cardio videos soon. I have been exercising at home a lot but I'm lacking in good cardio videos. I have yoga, I have pilates, I have belly dancing, etc.
Nancy - I'm sorry to hear that happened to you! I have heard of it happening after childbirth. I hope everything will turn out alright. Amanda - Panama sounds fun, I'm sure you'll have a blast :) Ammi - I am determined! I hope I can keep up this determination. Even if I don't reach 249, I'll at least know I tried. Sometimes your body doesn't cooperate :) As for cruises, I think cruises are good if you want a relaxing vacation and see a couple different places without having to drive/fly around. I personally enjoy staying in various cities, driving/flying/training around the country, etc. Also, the places were cruise ships stop tend to be places where a LOT of cruise ships stop and cruise ships are big. So the places tend to be more touristy than I like. I had an interesting experience in Cozumel, Mexico in that my friends and I were shopping. Well all of us understand spanish, a couple of my friends could speak it fluently and I can speak it poorly. Anyway, as we were trying to bargain with a shop owner, he got offended that we didn't want to buy his items for his price. He basically said that we were rich americans and that we should pay. I was amused but I'm sure they are used to getting americans that don't know how to bargain. dogpal - my wedding is November 19! I also think one day you'll go parasailing. I was very nervous doing it at nearly 300 lbs. I realized though that they build it to support a lot more weight than that. Maybe set yourself a goal and say you'll do it at such and such weight :) Angie - Congrats on your weight loss! Luan - Good job on the bike riding and yoga/pilates! I did pilates last night and my abs are killing me anymore. I also refuse to be fat any longer :) Kim - I'm sorry to hear you had such a bad day, I hope things get better. I also get sugar headaches and if it gets really bad, I'll get nauseous and feel like passing out. I am not diabetic but I have PCOS so I have to try to keep my blood sugar pretty level. It involves not eating a lot of refined carbs and eating small meals throughout the day. It helps. Amy - I'm glad you have someone to take care of your cat. I'm not sure how true the black cat at halloween thing is but I love black cats myself. I had one when I was younger. My wedding is on November 19, I'm looking forward to it but nervous. Katt - as our temps creep down, yours creep up! today is a chilly day over here. Good job about staying OP and the exercise. newsnerd - Congratulations on the jogging! I've never tried to jog myself. In another thread, 2frustrated suggested that I try jogging and I thought she was crazy. I don't know, maybe I'll have to try it. Although I do run for short spurts when I go hiking. Sharon - nice picture! Good job on moving the ticker. Melissa - Congrats on passing your exercise goal! I'm trying to get passed mine as well. toofatforu - I'm sure the FFM is busy trying to get your way. We tend to hold on to her :) Misti - hold on tight. I know it is frustrating. |
