WTG Valerie!

Believe it or not, this tiny little challenge was a struggle for me today... only day 2... but I did, finally, both take my med and complete 10 minutes of walking.

So two celebratory dancers for me... Hope I can post seven by Sunday.

:dancer: :dancer:

You know, sometimes building a small habit can be easy, and sometimes a small habit is like climbing a mountain! WTG on taking care of yourself Angela! Keep after those meds!

I made it thru the day with enuf water and no sugar... although I did have a Slim-Fast meal bar, which is reeeeeally stretching the rule - but not quite breaking it. :p Tomorrow I'll whip that bread thing, too. DH is back on the road and I don't have him as an excuse. There is no more bread in the house, and he finished the leftover pizza (and it's criminal crust) before he left. I'll do better tomorrow.

I did my stairs up and down 20 steps 4 times yesterday plus parked in no where land in the parking lot. So I got in a bit of exercise yesterday. I also did better on my water intake. That is one day two to go. I realized you start on Monday not Sunday! I did have a handful of chips the huby was nibbling on that was my naughty of the day! Otherwise within my calories on a high stress day.

Vortex_VVV 09-20-2006 06:22 PM

Good job, Valerie and Firefly!

Did both my little tasks today, so that's 3 days in a row. Amazing how hard such simple things can be.

Three days down for me. :dancer: :dancer: :dancer:

Well, I didnt make my goal this week of excercising 5xs. I missed my workout on Tuesday. But I DID excercise Monday and yesterday and will excercise tonight as well. I thought maybe I could make up for Tuesday by excercising on Saturday, but then I remembered my sister is getting married Saturday and I'm the Maid of Honor! Ooops! :o

I noticed yesterday that excercising at Curves is getting easier. I thought maybe I was just being lazy and not pushing myself as hard as I ususally do because I wasnt feeling as tired, but when we took our heartrates mine was right on target! Sweet!
 :flow1: :jig:

I did pretty well yesterday - not perfect - but I did drink 90 ounces of water so that was certainly a victory.

AMY - COOOOOL on feeling your condition increasing! That's one of the things I really love about Curves, they give you so many ways to measure success! As long as you keep on doing something, you're headed in the right direction. A missed day here and there doesn't change your whole direction. Have fun at the wedding!

ANGELA & FIREFLY - You're right on track. It's those little things, just one more day.

When I'm working out at the class I go to, some of the moves are so hard and I have to keep taking breaks. I get through some of them by telling myself just one more time, just three more times, without quitting. Yesterday when I thought my arms would break, I told myself that and kept telling myself that, and I made 16 more reps - one at a time - with out taking a break until the whole class was done with the exercise - And I hadn't quit!

Challanging ourselves is the only way we get stronger, but it can be one tiny challange at a time. Good luck with all your challanges today!!!

Amy, Valerie: WTG!!! And thanks for the encouragement and inspiration.

One week of a small challenge really is enough! I just made it , by the skin of my teeth today, but I got in my exercise and took my meds.

FOUR DAYS IN A ROW!! :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer:

Good Friday to you... I'm gonna do it, 7 whole days of simple little changes. I can *maybe* start thinking about another small change next week, but right now I'm just focussing on doing these two small things Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

cacmsc 09-22-2006 06:56 AM

Amy good work! Keep it up!
Valerie sounds like some good sound advice. I will remember it. Good job!
Curves sounds like a good place for you. Your increasing skills and the end results will be lovely.
I did the stairs at work and walked a little yesterday. My water intake could of been up there a little more. I will work on that today. I have a wedding on saturday to go to,so I will attempt to exercise on the treadmill in the a.m.
Have a good day.

Big old 10 minute walk and took my meds at a decent hour. 5 days down, 2 to go.

:dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer:

Enjoy the wedding, Firefly.

Vortex_VVV 09-23-2006 09:04 PM

hmmm... quiet weekend, eh?

well, i met my challenge again today... did a whole 22 min. on the bike, took my meds.

6 days down. :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer:

Hope everyone else is finishing off their weeks in style.

NoLifeWithoutHorses 09-24-2006 10:16 PM

Hi! Sorry I dropped out of sight on you Angela. I'd like to say it was all because I had such a busy weekend, and that's part of it, but it's even more because I know I can do better than I have been the last few days. Sure, Saturday i got caught away from home without anything appropriate to eat and limited access to a potty, but I have no excuse for today - Saturday. Tomorrow is a new Monday, and I'm definately on board to keep working at this!

I'm thrilled that YOU have done so well Angela. These little habits - so important! I Just wish it wasn't such a struggle sometimes, but here we are, "Building Character" or some such thing. ;)

Vortex_VVV 09-24-2006 11:53 PM

Building something, I guess, Valerie! You've been doing really well though, and I'm glad to have you with us.

I'm going to start a new thread for next week... with a new goal for myself, at least.

I finally set a goal small enough to achieve: I managed 10 minutes or more of exercise every day this week, and I took all my meds every day. Yay for me! Seven dancers for seven days:

:dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer:

How did everyone else do? As Valerie says, it's a new week, so if you didn't make your challenge, maybe try the same one again!

Ayanna 09-25-2006 06:53 PM

I love this idea! I am going to eat breakfast every day this week (so far so good) Also I am going to eat 5 fruits or veggies each day... i did not do so well today only two serving so far. I need to go to the store and replenish the fruit and veggies... i could go now but I am so tired I think I will go tommorow instead I will make a list of what to buy tommorow.

Good luck ladies... have a great week.

Ayanna 09-25-2006 07:53 PM

I went to the store and got fruits and veggies! As i wrote the post i relieazed i would be tired tommorow also. So I went to the store and now I just finished my fourth serving (peach) and I am sure I can fit in a piece of fruit (banana maybe a Kiwi) before bed! I am well on my way to starting the week off right after all with 5 servings of fruits or veggies and breakfast this morning!

NoLifeWithoutHorses 09-25-2006 08:03 PM

EXcellent Ayana!! I did the same thing yesterday - stocked up on favorite fruits & veggies. Today I started doing a diet that tells me exactly what to eat each day, and while I can (and DO) make substitutions, it reminds me to actually EAT those F & V's, as opposed to bringing them home and then throwing them away after they start to change colors or smell bad.

This week I'm totally on track so far - worked out, calories down, drank 8 glasses, took ALL my vitamins (that's a first!), NO starchy carbs... I was just a little  ....for ONCE! Now, if I just - I mean WHEN I have done today just 41 more times, I should be down by a few more pounds, with or with the FFM!! :p

Behave ladies! Angela - when you start that next thread, I'm there!!
