300+ And Ready To Try Again...#898
We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.
We want to invite everyone to join us in our journey. We share laughter and tears. We share what works for us and what doesn't. We often use a "Topic of the Day" for discussion. Motivational Monday Tuesday Tips Wednesday Wish List .. and What you are doing to obtain it. Thankful Thursday FUN Friday ... don't wait until you lose your weight. Sit-up Saturdays - any physical activity Share your Success Sunday These are not required topics ...just ideas to share. We often find them very helpful. We also share heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations. We have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, and more. Please feel free to check them all out. We have found this thread to be more than just a support group... we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us. WELCOME! I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out. If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for Amazon on any page in the forum, or by clicking on the button on the main 3FC page at www.3fatchicks.com . A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site. Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker. |
Patti: Thank you so much for a name to call you instead of toofat. I love Patti. My real name is Annie if you don't want to call me dogpal! LOL.
Ammi: Thanks for the congrats. I'm sure yours is coming right around the corner! Kayley: Sorry that your time was wasted on that last interview. Hugs. Maybe next one will be the one. Suemarie: I want a boflex machine too. SO does my hubby. We don't have the room in this place we are renting. I want an ablounger too but I am too heavy for it so, It will be a treat for me when I reach the weight where I can go on one. Congrats on -5 water weight or not! Nancy: The bad thing is that I eat way to much salt with the lemon. They are so yummy like that. Kind of like a margarita! I'd love to work with you. I think you would be a joy to work with. Really long commute for me! LOL. Missing all the ladies. Where are you VAL? Hope you are having fun on your horses. Blessings to you all, Dogpal |
Misti, Hi, I don't know whether I welcomed you here,:welcome3: though I'm sure you have been here before. It is a good idea to set goals, what's that saying? If you aim for the stars..fail...you hit the moon... or something like that, you get the picture.
Brenda, great on the smaller clothes & people noticing.:cheer: Crock, sorry about your back/bra(?) & allergies, at least you have your inhaler to help. Hope you get to catch some really big ones, do you eat them? It must be great catching & eating your own fish & its so good for you, low in fat & high in protein. Nancy it sounds like your CEO needs a telling off!!! how can they not replace people when they leave and expect others to do their work? if they do that they should give you their salaries too!!!;) Ammi, way to go on all that activity & staying up AND being OP!:carrot: Sorry if I missed anyone, its not intentional, I agree too there are lots of people missing, where are you, Amy, Catherine, Garnet....Valerie? I feel slimmer but the scales aren't showing it, hubby grabbed the fatty bits around my waist and said there's definately less there, which put me off feeling frisky! ;) And he didn't know why!!!! :censored: Do I need reminding of my wobbly bits? He still doesn't get that I'm mad at him when he talked with those people & let that woman hug him either, without even acknowledging or introducing me, men!! I though my tummy was better but it was coz I had jeans on, I thought it would make it worse, (I usually wear track pants around the house) so I will try exercising today & see what happens, if it doesn't improve or gets worse I'm off to the Doc's. Nancy it was my cervix the operated on, this is near my waist/belly button, so I'm sure it's not related. Could it be a hernia, has anyone had one so I can rule it out? xxxsharon:grouphug: |
Dogpal, I forgot BIG CONGRATS ON THE LOSS!!!!!!!:carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot:
xxxsharon |
Good Morning All,
It's a gorgeous day here, the sun is shining, and I have a full line of washing outside drying. There is nothing like the smell of freshly washed clothes that have been dried outside!! They even make candles trying to capture that fragrance! Kayley - ah yes, all that extra free time would be well spent working out, especially as you are determined to lose another 30 lbs before you go back to school in the fall. That sucks that you went to all that trouble to go to the interview, only to find that nobody was there. Still it sounds like it was for the best, a job collecting money door to door would be horrible! SueMarie - woohoo, that is fabulous that you lost not one, not two, not three, not four, but five :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: lbs! I bet you are over the moon. Water weight or not, it's still a great loss, and now you can continue the downward trend! Patti - you aren't going to tell me on Saturday that you think that will be your official weigh in day, then on Sunday that you will think that will be it, and so on and so on are you  :D Personally I like Monday as my weigh in day, daft really because I would be more tempted to be naughty on the weekend, so Friday might be a better day  Nah, I'll be good and stick to Mondays. Cyn - I don't blame you for not exercising when your allergies were playing up. Time enough for that when you are feeling better. Nancy - I would love to come clean out your closet, now I won't charge you anything more than oooh let's see, my airfare over there  Seriously I think my ideal job would be one where I sort out people's clutter. Of course I won't know what is valuable to them sentimentally or not, so I might end up in lots of trouble lol. I think I better stick to just keeping my own stuff sorted out :D I am sorry that you were a bit stressed in work today, it does seem silly that when people leave you are one of the ones that end up having to do the extra work. I hope you can find a new part time employee soon, that will help take a load off. Now isn't it a shame Kayley lives too far from you, she is desperate to find work, and you have a job going. Misti - 6 lbs in 3 weeks sounds very doable, and I am sure you will have lost that 40 lbs by your birthday. Are you going to let us know what date it is and how old you are going to be? We have to wish you a happy birthday :D That is brilliant that you are going on a cruise, where will you be cruising too, and is it an early birthday treat for you? Sharon - I have never had a hernia, but from talking to others I know they can always feel a lump, you said you can't feel anything didn't you? Anyway here is a link to a site all about Hernias, you might find some info there that will make you sure you do,or don't (which I am hoping for) have one. http://www.hernia.org/ I hope you are going to be ok! As for hubby grabbing your flabby bits and then complimenting you that they are definitely smaller, all I can say is MEN  they have no idea sometimes do they. How come he doesn't realise you are still angry too about not being introduced to his work mates, especially the smug ***** who hugged him?? I think it's about time you gave him some grief, perhaps when you aren't as worried about what that pain is that you have. As mentioned by others, we have some women who are AWOL at the moment, Zelma, Garnetfairy, Catherine, Christine, Lori, Val (though I think she is on the road) MariaLucia, Amber, Amy, Vicki, WHERE ARE YOU ALL?? Ok time to go now, it's my mid morning nap time now lol. Got to recharge the batteries before carrying on with some cleaning this afternoon. Hugs, Ammi :grouphug: |
well i decided on today.. friday as my official weigh in day. i am down 2 pounds which does include that pesky pound that kept coming back!Good morning Annie hope you have a great day too!

Nancy those daily fluctuations drive me nuts!

I am spending my birthday this year on my first ever cruise! My niece and I are heading to Alaska inside passage on May 21, yippeeeeeeeeeeee. She arrives two weeks from today! We are soooooo excited. We booked this 9 months ago and at the time it was a distant dream way out in the future... and now here I am rushing around trying to get things done in time LOL. |
oh that cruies sounds wonderful!
|
Misti - Wow what a wonderful way to spend a birthday. My mum decided to take us on our first ever cruise when she was turning 40. She said life begins then, so why not begin it on a cruise :D May 26th, you won't be here then, you will be happily on your cruise, so in advance, Happy Birthday :woo:
Patti - well done, another 2 lbs gone :carrot: :cheer: including that pesky little one that keep popping back up just to irritate you :D I think you picked the perfect official WI day. Crock - yoohoo where are you?? Are those darn alergies still getting you down. I hope you got to go to the doctor about them. Hugs, Ammi :grouphug: |
i think fridats are good too right before those calorie full weekends with my hubby home lol. Ammi have have you been doing?
|
Misti - I did the inland waterway cruise to Alaska when I was in my twenties. It is stupendous - lots of eagles, and we cruised alongside one pod of killer whales for over a day. Only had one rough day, when we had to go outside an island to make up some time, so very few people had seasickness. I don't get it, but be sure to bring some dramamine - don't want to lose even an evening.
The only suggestion I can give is to be sure to bring sweaters and a good jacket. I only brought one, and by the end, I was sick of it, and I think it was getting a little smelly. Excuse me for sticking my nose in, since I usually post in 40+, but I had to say something. Enjoy every minute. It's the cruise of a lifetime. |
Hello Girls
I am here and have had a shot and my inhaler.. feeling some better, but the upper back is still bothersom.. Got some Advil for that.. I have lost another 3 lbs.. that sure must be my Magic Number,, I was weighed this morning at the docs office.. that is a grand total of 56 lbs.. she<)the doc) said that the loss was not too quick,, and she was very happy that the South Beach is the way for me.. I told her I was waiting on the stall to come, but on a good note she said that she has seen her patients lose as high as 80 lbs or better before there is a stall.. so that sounds good to me.. I am healthy so all is good here on the home front.. It rained alot last night, so the pollen has drawed it evil little horns in,, I have stayed at Kims the past couple of days, hanging out with her and Austin, and Mandy ( her oldest 12 going on 45) I have enjoyed myself.. Her Hubby leaves the house around 5am and gets back around 7pm .,So we have all day to have our Hen talks and ***** and complain about all the Man things that irritate us.. But sometime today I will be going home.. (bout 15 minutes up the road).. It is a good break from staying at the Parents house..,, God, I cant wait to buy a house ,,,Hard times.. I tell ya.. Ammi~~ Sorry I have been not around,, but we will make up for it soon enough...Thanks for missing me.. (awwwshucks) |
Just a drive by post for now....
Misti - I have to say, you don't LOOK like you're turning 59! You've aged well...:) (I don't know how to say that without sounding like an ***, lol...but it's a compliment...hehe) GOOD LUCK getting to that goal! Crock - My fellow South Beacher, you are doing fantastically well! I have counseling at 3pm today, and then my friend is coming over, and we are going to go out. Dunno what we're going to do, but we always find something to keep us amused. As for all you ladies missing, COME BACK THIS INSTANT! If you've fallen off plan, don't let that stop you from coming back...we're here to help you!!! And we MISS you!!!! Better change the ticker to reflect my tiny (but it's there, gain...hoping it's water retention...) Hope all you ladies (and mokster if he hasn't fled) have a great and OP day! |
Hello Ladies!
Ammi - here I am! <grin> I cannot stay and post for long, but I did want to stop in and write Kayle a bit of a note. I'm really busy at work and I also need to get my resume finished so that I can apply to ALL these job annoucements. I have a good feeling about this whole thing. Controller position, here I COME! LOL Kayle - I know you want a PAID job...but if you are going to have a bit of free time in the summer, and are forced to take a non-clerical job to make money, I suggest you volunteer in the office of a local non-profit (preferrably for a cause you believe in) or at your Church/Temple/Mosque/Shanga/Spiritual Center if you attend one. On the non-profit side there's everything from Arts to Legal Aid to Catholic Charities to pet rescue centers to environmental causes...you name it! Make sure you talk to the Executive Director, or the person in charge of volunteers and tell them that you really support their cause and that you want to get some clerical experience for your resume. They will be glad to have you one morning a week (or more if you can do it). It's a great way to get experience, a good letter of reference for that temp agency, and an office job to put on your resume. And, people who are on the Boards of Directors for all these non-profits are usually business and political leaders in your community (usually BoD try to recruit at least one accountant/finance person and one lawyer to be on their Board). As a volunteer, you could get a chance to interact with these people (especially if you volunteer to take notes at their meetings and do a great job of typing them up in a timely manner and get them distributed for approval), or at the very least, have the Executive Director interceed on your behalf when the time is right. Besides, it NEVER hurts to make those contacts! When I moved to CA from Boston, I didn't know anyone and could not find a job to save my life (DESPITE a solid job history and 2 degrees!!!). I knocked on one door after another and nothing. To this day, don't know how I made ends meet!! I clearly remember being in the position, more than once, of having $1 to my name and having to choose putting gas in my car, which I needed to look for work, rather than food. So, as I made ends meet I started volunteering for the local arts council because they had a project going with City Government (that is where reading the local paper daily is REALLY helpful!). Every day that I didn't have work, I went to the office and made myself indispensable. Within 3 months I knew the mayor, the local chief of police, the local fire chief, a whole host of movers and shakers in my community, and a Supervisor who ended up being our Congresswoman a few years later. Or more importantly, THEY new me and my name and how to get a hold of me. You'd better believe I never had a hard time finding work again...that is, until I moved down to the Bay Area. LOL I hope you don't take my advice as me being preachy or meddling. It's just that I KNOW from personal experience how HARD it is to get your foot in the door when you are young and have little "work experience" required by people so that they give you a job. I didn't have anyone to guide me and had to learn all this stuff through trial and error. I'm hoping my words will make your life easier than mine was then! :-) Alright, I have to go. Blessings everyone! |
Oh yeah, if I were to sum up what I've learned about job hunting:
It's not as much about WHAT you know but WHOM you know that gets you in the door. Now, if you want to actually KEEP the job, then you have to do a good job, of course! :-) Do whatever you can to get yourself in a position to meet the kinds of people who are in the position to help your career. Being friendly and warm and showing them what you can do, and a bit of shrewdness is all it takes! |
I am here...just haven't had the time to post. I read and want to say someting and then I have to run and I forget what I wanted to say. My computer won't even let me read the last thread...argh.
So the scale said I was up again..but TOM is next week and I have been working out like a fiend and we had that huge eating event with the Bar Mitzvah last weekend..so it is what it is. I got a free training session at the gym the other day....it was empty and I had 25 minutes to kill, so I worked with Mimi (the trainer) on arms and abs. I think she is trying to kill me, but at least I will die thinner and more toned. HAH! There is a cute dress I ant to buy but it shows off my upper tummy pooch too much...so I want to try to flatten it out a bit. My wais has gotten pretty small (39 inches the other day!!!) but my goo above and below are the problem. I have a sucker-inner thing that looks like bike pants but then the exces gets pushed up and it's unpretty :( I am so excited..the invites went out for my first Bridal Shower...wow! I'm going to be a bride...LOL I'm off to make another dinner experiment. I went looking for a recipe for a crustless pie...but it called for SF cook and serve pudding...which they didn's have at the store...so this will be an experiment. In the end I used SF/FF instant, 1/2 package of SF jello and a bunch of fruit. It will either be yummy or garbage. Dinner will be a revision on the Moroccan Chicken I have been making. I am going to try to blend my recipe (thanks Rachael Ray) and my friend's. Then I think I am going to roast fingerling potatoes in garlic and aby broccoli with chili flakes. Shall I set another few places? Ok...80's child that I am...I am off to watch the end of Greas (it's on TV...woohoo). Have a great weekend. I think I have finally convinced Jason to watch Brokeback Mountain with me tonight!!! |
Maria - I've actually thought about that, but doing so would screw myself... LOL...I have to make money this summer or I can't go to college in the fall...and if I don't go to college, I won't be able to get a good job, and then I'm back to where I started....ha!
Everything went swell with the counselor today. He told me to try and THINK next time I go to make fun of myself (that's one of my many defense mechanisms), and see what triggers that in me...and try to see how quickly my mood changes...from happy to sad to anger, etc. He said anti-anxiety medication may be helpful, but that won't be for a LONG time now... |
Hi Everyone!
I decided to do a 'fly by' posting as others have had to do. I've been getting on here to read, but only had time to post a couple of very quick replies and to report into the exercise thread, which definitely keeps me accountable. This week has been very hectic and tiring, as first weeks of term usually are. I was very naughty and didn't get myself fully prepared in the holidays, so have had to do more in the evenings than I normally would. I also have a student teacher in (doing her final year of training) and I don't get to duck on here during recess and lunch breaks. I figure it would be a bit rude to ignore her at those times. She is a lovely lady, but it is still an adjustment to have someone else in the room. It will be wonderful when she is teaching more and I have to get mid-year reports written. I won't have to do them all out of school hours. She is in my room for 8 weeks and will be teaching for the bulk of the day for probably 4 of those. Should give me PLENTY of time for reports. I just hope I make good use of that time. I have also been pretty tired after work, and have been having a nap when I can. I think this is just settling in time, but I still want to get myself to the doctor (when I have the time and energy... and actually REMEMBER to call and make an appointment) to see if there is any other reason for being tired. As I've mentioned before, after losing more than half my body weight, I just expected to feel a LOT more energetic. I MUST get my act together and get it checked out, just as much for peace of mind as anything else. It is getting close to having my Vitamin D and B12 levels checked again anyway, so I can kill two birds with one stone as they say. I have been having trouble with my knee, which I was NOT impressed about. I think I got a little carried away with jogging, as it was such a novelty that I could actually jog at ALL, let alone as much as I was. I went to the chiropractor yesterday, for my regular monthly maintainence session and he adjusted my knee as well, which was wonderful. It felt better immediately and has been better since. It ached a little after the treadmill this morning, but seems OK again now. He also gave me some strengthening exercises for an inside muscle. He said that if this muscle is weak it allows the knee cap to move out of place... or something like that... and that was causing the pain. Fingers crossed. I am hoping to have more time over the weekend to actually do some individual responses, and you are allowed to kick my butt if I don't get them done. (I hope someone has REALLY long legs) Catch you all soon. Take care, Zelma |
Crock - lovely to see your post, I was getting worried :D I am glad that you are feeling at least a little bit better. And of course I am THRILLED to hear that you have lost yet another 3 lbs :cheer: :carrot: :cheer: I am glad to hear that your doctor says it's fine to be losing as fast as you are and that you could go right up to 80 lbs lost before things slow down a little.
MariaLucia - glad to see you post, I am glad you are just busy rather than not well. Julee - sorry to hear that you had a small gain this week, but you expected it, so it's not too bad. I am sure you will soon shift it. How many bridal showers are you going to have, I just noticed that you said the invitations had gone out for your 'first' one? When is it? I hope it's wonderful. I don't know if people do that over here, I don't know anybody who has ever had one, so you will have to tell me all about it :D How did the dinner experiment go, did it end up getting eaten and enjoyed, or thrown out? I hope it wasn't the latter because it certainly did sound yummy. Oh I love Grease too, the first time I watched it was in highschool when the school got new video players. One teacher brought Grease in and it went around all the classes lol, we all got to see it. I have it on DVD now, and it even came with the song words, not that I need them of course  Kayley - I am glad that all went well at the counselor. I like the task he has set you. He sounds great. My counselor has never done anything like that with me, I really am beginning to believe that she isn't very good at all. Anyway, I hope that you will learn not to make fun of yourself as your defense mechanism. You are much too nice a person to have anybody do that, including yourself! Zelma - yay, glad you posted, that's one more I can cross off my 'where are they' list  I am sorry that you are still feeling tired, and I can imagine how frustrating it is. Like you said, you lost all your excess weight and expected to be full of life, and yet you are so tired. I am glad you are going to go to the doctors about it. That's good that your chiropractor has done his job and made you knee much better, and that he gave you an exercise that inside muscle. Hopefully you will be jogging again with no worry about it. Patti - you asked how I have been doing, do you mean in general or with the weight loss. In general more than good, enjoying having some more energy and getting lots of jobs I have been putting off, done. Regarding weight loss, well I don't weigh til Monday, but I have been a good girl all week, so I am hoping to see a loss. Fingers crossed! Ok time for me to make a move, it's late and time for me to get some sleep. Hope everybody has a wonderful weekend, Hugs, Ammi :grouphug: |
hi ladies!
making an impromptu apperarance from school.. fun times. not a lot has been going on with me. i have been reading and keeping up with you all. im a BIT behind, but i know you love me anyway. im going to idaho next week for my best friend's graduation. im really excited. i know she wanted me to come really bad, and i happened to get a credit card (the devil) for 300 bucks, so what the ****, right? im excited to go and im excited for her. shes going on to ghana in august. how exciting. :) school is good. i miss my old class tho. my new instructor is.. shall we say... ben stein in ferris bueller, with less personality. its really annoying. he treats us like 5 year olds. he yells at us to be quiet like every 5 mins. and we arent even that noisy. its a SMALL classroom, with 23 other people in it. and he freaks out if we talk. its lame. other than that. im learning a lot. right now we are doing old age makeup. that is to say how to age a younger face 20 or so years. i know most of you here dont want ANY tips on that one.. lol work is going well. i am getting rave reviews. i graduated training with "best of new hire" which is an award they give to someone in training that stood out. i also got my first review yesterday. it was really good. they said that im working well above where i should be. its nice to be noticed for my hard work. its not the greatest job in the world, but its flexable and i get (some) benefits... limited medical and a gym membership. and it pays alright too. hmm... i feel like i havent been here in forever. i didnt weigh in last week because i was working on a short film that we are submitting to all the major film festivals. that was a fun night. there were a few minor snafu's but all in all a good night was had by all. i cant wait to see the finished project. this weekend is my friend's wedding shower. im doing her and her bridesmaids makeup for the wedding, so im doing a consultation with them after the shower. it should be fun, and more pics for my book. awesome! dogpal - its so good to see you on track. *hugs* ammi - *waves* hello julee - im in burbank tonight. set a place for me. i will be over arround 10 :) everyone else... im so sorry i havent been arround. i will make a more concious effort to post more often. keep in mind that i WILL be out of town for a week. with little or no internet connection. so dont flogg me if im not arround *hugs to all* Luan |
ok fingers crossed for you this weekend Ammi. glad you are having more energy too!
|
Ammi: dinner was great. we haven't had dessert yet...we're settling while Jason does the dishes. Some of the stuff was a little salty and since I didn't have quite enough chicken stock the chicken got a touch overcooked but all in all I was pleased...except I didn't know that Jason doesn't like olives and of course...I put olives into the dish. However since I had rinsed them they didn't flavor the rest of everything and he was able to pick them out. How did I go 3 years not knowing this???
Bridal showers...no idea. This might be the only one but my friend (and bridesmaid) Wendy said she wants to do one as well with some of the other girls...and someone at work might want to so I have absolutely no idea. I'm just going with the flow. I don't think I have ever been to a bridal shower and the very thought of a party being thrown for me (birthdays are different) is really overwhelming to me. Luan: I should have you come by some day and do a consult for me :) Zelma: knee problems are no fun at all. I hope things go well for you. Kayley: You have a good therapist. If his initial reaction to your queries about medications was not to whip out the prescription pad..that's a very very good thing. Good luck with the job search! Oh..soooo full from dinner. Have a great weekend!! |
Elaine, I’m so happy for you that you got a surprise head start on your weight loss! That pleasant surprise from the scale has to be a relief and encouragement as you start again. Here’s to your success!!!
AzCyn – I love your avatar – so pretty! I hope your nose is suffering less today. Allergies are miserable! Jilly – What great NSV’s – skipping BOTH the evil donut AND the evil-er McD’s! BRAVO! NANCY – COOL deal on the negative 4 pounds!! Congrats! *** And if Kayley doesn’t want that job, I’LL take it! Let’s face it – the commute couldn’t POSSIBLY be worse than it is right now! That little comment, while the spirit might be appreciated, CERTAINLY would have cooled my jets as well!! Ammi – Good to see you getting out. Shopping sounds like fun. I’d love to buy some new clothes, but I hate to do it before I lose weight. I love to shop for ANYthing tho.. earrings, Christmas presents, …food. ;) *** As for Boston Legal, it seems you guys have a lot of American programming over there. I’ve always loved the British programming. I think they should come out with a London Legal – wouldn’t it sound better with some studly Brit accents?? Brenda, WooHOO! I’m so excited for you & your latest -2 pounds. That’s SUPER! Busy TRACEY, That’s great that you’ve stocked the house with good foods. It’s so important to success I think. Lilion – poor wounded woman! Hang in there, and stay away from the chocolate! Oh, Kayley! I’m so glad you escaped THAT job interview. It’s too bad they wasted your time like that tho. Patti – Fantastic that you’ve chased off the Pesky Pound AND one of his friends!! Congrats!!! Misti! If you’re going to be 59, then that’s not your picture in your avatar! Maria Lucia, What EXCELLENT advide on job hunting. I’m going to pass that on to several young people that I know. It also makes several such volunteer jobs that I’d like to do anyway, even more attractive. Thanks so much for that contribution!! Julee – what a wonderful time you have ahead of you, getting ready for your Big Day! Have a fantastic time, and I’m sure that shower will be lovely!! Zelma, I’m startled to see you back to school already. I thought you had 2 weeks off, but ZING – it’s over already?!? I hope your student teacher works out wonderfully! Glad to hear also that your knee is doing much better! OH LUAN! Glad to see you posting and doing so great at work! I have a couple of issues/questions for you!! First of all, I heard from my niece who would love to talk about GHANA with your friend. I’ll PM you her addy. Second, I’ve heard of home & office calls for massage specialists, but have you ever heard of in-home day spa type services? Where perhaps several specialists might come in, do massage, facials, nails and/or hair? Perhaps even for a party of individuals? Just wondered, and since you’re in the field… HOWDY EVERYBODY ELSE! HEY, Where are CATHERINE, MOM2FIVESWEETIES, GARNET and others?? |
IT'S GORGOUS HERE - Rocky Mountains on the Calif/Nevada border, still lots of snow, and the creeks are rushing with the melting snow. I wish there was somewhere to stop & get out to smell the devine fragence of the pines. Traffic is heavy, as all the Californians head over the mountains to the Nevada casinos to gamble. I wish I had cash like that to throw away!
I'm feeling very guilty about accidently slamming the tuck door on poor puppy's paw. He seems in good spirits (he's wrestling with old Max right now) and it's not swollen, but he was still limping when I took him out last time. I feel so bad. - Oh heavens! There's still a wall of snow 4 to 12 feet high in the rest area!! The air is UNbelievable. OK. So this job does have it's perks. I'll enjoy those for now. =) |
Thanks
 Thanks all for your replies and all looks good so far.
Yes, the change in how much I have to lose was a very pleasant surprise. I really thought for sure I was at least 350 lbs. Well it's late must go to bed now. Night all. All the best...talk agan soon. |
Hello everyone!
Does anyone know if SUGAR can cause joint and muscle pain? My knees and ankles and hands and basically anything that is a joint has been hurting these past two days and the ONLY think I can come up with is that I've been having more sugar than usual. Eeeeeek! This is going to make my dance class from **** into something else! I hope I survive. It's my bday this week. I decided tonite that I want to spend part of it with my ex's daughter. I just emailed her dad (since he has her on my b-day) to see if I can pick her up from school at 3 so that we can go to the manicurist and then to get our make up done at the Laura Mercier counter since I need new lipstick and lipliner anyway. If she doesn't have one kindda after-school class or a playdate, he's probably going to say yes. I hope he does. Cuz I decided that I need to have a conversation with her about my breakup with her Mom. It's not fair to an 8-year old when an adult who's been an integral part of her life for over 2 years just disappears without a word. L, in her standard mode of prefering to get all her teeth pulled while she's running a marathon than having to talk about hard stuff with ANYONE, would rather just let her "figure it out" that we are broken up. To this day I still believe she hasn't told her. But I just cannot do that. I want to make sure this little girl knows that I love her and that I'm not just leaving for no reason (or worse, because of her - since that is how children her age think). <deep sigh> Wish me luck...I'm not exactly sure how I'm going to answer her questions. It will surely make for a bitter-sweet birthday celebration. Oh, and have I told you my therapist ROCKS. She's VERY perceptive and completely dead-on. Thursday's session was brutal but amazingly profound. I am so very glad to have her in my life. Here's a cheer to continue emotional healing and to sowing the seeds of internal peace and self-love. OK, it's late and I have to go to sleep. My joints hurt so much. I really MUST lay off the sugar. Nite everyone. |
 Hi Ladies,
Sharon: I sure hope your tummy problems ease up soon. I have never had a hernia but my step mom has had hiatel hernias (sp). She may have another. Her signs of them are heart burn no matter what she eats. Feel better soon and go :drill: see your Dr. Missy. Patti: :carrot: Congrats on your -2. Misti: I hope you have a super time on your cruise! :D Sounds like so much fun. Crock:  Hope your back gets feeling better soon. Congrats on -3 :whoo: woo hoo! Julie: sounds like you are busy but with fun things. :) Glad to see you post so we know you are doing well! Zelma: OOOh I hope your knees start :o behaving soon. Luan: It sounds like you are enjoying your work. Just remember that teacher :frypan: is there to help you get patience for when you have to work on someone annoying like that. LOL. Val: So glad to see you post. I wasnt' sure if you were riding your horses or back on the road. I know exactly where you were when you posted. I have been over that area so many times when I lived in Sacramento. It is beautiful. Be happy you aren't going over the pass on a holiday weekend when there is still snow with all the skiers coming from Sac and San Fran. UGH. That makes for a long 2 hour trip turning into a 6 to 8 hour trip at times. Happy driving and give Simon a big  big hug for me. Well all, I have been doing pretty well dispite a small fever. I went and worked out at Curves today and then I went and treated myself to getting a spa manicure. It was so relaxing and my cuticles are smiling. Blessings all, and missing the ones that are MIA bunches. Come back! Dogpal |
Ohhhhh I knew I liked this group here for a reason LOL. Thanks for the compliments... but yes that picture in the Avatar was taken last month. That's one thing about losing the weight... all the fat in my face smooths out the wrinkles LOL so when I lose it there they will all be! :) But it will be worth it! Someone already told me they can see a big difference in my face.
Hope all of you have a great weekend! |
I am so excited. I added a picture to my avitar. It is of my two preciouse dogs. Yellow one is my male and his name is Bear and the black dog is my female and her name is Pepper. They are my kids. Some time soon I will have my hubby take a picture of me and if it is not too scary, I will put it on my avitar or on the picture area.
Blessings, Dogpal |
Hello All,
oooh I had a lie in today, til 9 am, lol. Oh my goodness, it is so weird saying that is a lie in when normally I wouldn't get up until at least lunch time :D I haven't really done much today though, just sorted some stuff out that I am going to give to charity, and watched Daren mow the lawn. Oh and I did some washing too. It feels like a lazy day for me, but hey, it's the weekend, if you can't be lazy then, when can you be :D Luan - your new instructor sounds like a real cretin. He is teaching adults for goodness sake, and shouldn't talk to you all like children. No wonder you don't like him. I know I wouldn't!! Well done on the award at the gym, it's nice to be appreciated isn't it! I am really glad you like it there. Enjoy your friends wedding shower and I am sure the bride and bridesmaids will love you doing their make up. Patti - thanks for crossing your fingers for me, I will let you know on Monday if it did any good :D Julee - I know it's weird isn't it when you find out something about your partner that you didn't know even though you have been with them for years. I guess it keeps everything fresh though, it's nice to learn new things along your lives together. I am really glad your meal was a success and you didn't end up having to throw it away. How did the dessert go. I hope you managed to have some and didn't stay too full after the main meal :D Ok, I hear you on the wedding shower thing, you will have as many as people want to throw. I am sure you will get over the initial feeling of overwhelment and enjoy the parties, after all, these people are all your friends. Valerie - lovely to hear from you, and what a gorgeous place you are in, or were in by the time you read this :) When you eventually get to give up working on the truck you will certainly have some lovely memories of places you have been. Ouchies, poor puppy having his paw stuck in the door as you closed it. How is he now, no more limping I hope. Yes we have a LOT of American shows over here, and as much as you might like to hear Boston Legal, as London Legal, I don't think they will ever get two British actors who work as well together and make such a great team as William Shatner, and the guy who plays Alan in the show. I could watch a show that is purely only about them, they are brilliant. Elaine - when will you be having your next weigh in? MariaLucia - sorry I can't help you on the sugar question, I must say it would be very strange if your joint pain does turn out to be because of increasing the amount you eat. I am sorry you are aching so badly and hope that whatever is causing it will be discovered so that you can start to get better. Have you told us when your birthday is, you probably have, I have a memory like a sieve. Whenever it is I hope you have a lovely time and that you do get to spend some of the day with your exe's daughter. When I first split from my ex one of the only things I missed were his kids. Their mother was a cow though and wouldn't let me see them once I had split up from my ex. I think she was always jealous of how well I got on with them both. She even told the little girl I wasn't allowed to brush her hair or hold her hand etc. I am happy to say that I did both, but the little girl had to keep it a secret from her mum. How sad is that. That's wonderful that you are so happy with your therapist, Kayley likes hers too, it's only me that is now realising that the one I have got isn't much good. I can't have anybody else though, so I think I will give it say another month and if she doesn't seem to be doing any more than she does now, which is nothing, then I will just stop seeing her. Annie - just wanted to say hi, so   Oh and nice picture of your doggy in the avatar, now to change it to one of you and hubby :D Misti - I know what you mean about looking older once you have lost the weight. I am sure that even if that happens, you will feel younger because you are so much lighter. So I wouldn't worry too much about it. Sharon - my friend, where are you? Haven't seen you on MSN, nor here yet today. Hope that pain isn't giving you too much grief! Crock - hope the allergies are still getting better, do you think you might still make the fishing trip? Ok time to make some lunch now. Take care all, and bye for now, Hugs, Ammi :grouphug: |
Ammi~~No fishing trip for me this weekend,, Austin did not want aunt Nonnie to leave last night, so I stayed another night at Kims, I am still slowly getting better, feeling a lot better than I did, just not 100% yet.. It will come.. I am still gonna weigh in Tomorrow that is my routine,, even though I was weighed early... Take Care

Okay, so I haven't been able to exercise at all this week because yet again, my body won't cooperate. First the week started with really bad allergies which then became a bad cold. Now I feel like ultimate crap with fever, diarrhea, nausea, stomach pains, it's all rather horrible actually. This has been going on since Thursday. So this is the second week that I've wanted to exercise and couldn't. Oy vey!

Hi Tracey
Hope you are better soon... but please take good care of yourself. Isn't it frustrating when you WANT to exercise and can't? Sheesh! But congratulate yourself on your attitude!!! |
