Well, WI stunk! As you can plainly see...I'm at 250 again! I don't get it...I didn't do anything WRONG this time, it isn't TOM, I drank my water, I didn't go over on points...It just stinks! I truely hate scales.

Lilion - I hear you, the scales SUCK, and they lie. Don't take it to heart, just take it as a temperamental scales just trying to annoy you. I bet you could jump on them again tomorrow and see you are 4 lbs down!! Scales don't matter, it's the NSVs you have to focus on. Keep your chin up. I know you will see a good loss next time you weigh

Hi all
Thank you all for the lovely welcome Somebody asked what exercise we were all doing .. I have the 'Two Mile Walk' by Leslie Sansone. Its very much like an exercise video I used to do years ago by Jane Fonda. Pretty good though. The GL diet I am doing is a variation on the GI diet. Stands for Glycemic Index and Glycemic Loading. Apparently all the processed food we eat is playing havoc with our blood sugar and insulin levels which have a direct impact on energy, health, weight and weight loss. What its supposed to do is get your blood sugar and insulin to normal levels so your body can allow itself to stabalise to its natural weight. Alledgedly!! Anyways, its a combination of eating 25% Protein, 25% Low GL foods and 50% Salad or low GL Veg and fruit. I have to say since I started it I havent been hungry once nor have I craved anything. In fact I used to overload on white bread and yesterday I had one piece and I couldnt eat it as it tasted vile. So something good has come of it. :dizzy: |

MsCrockett - i drink the Slimfast Optima. less sugar and more protein than the normal SF. there are 10g of protein per can, which is only 190 calories. its nice because i have a bad habit of not eating breakfast, but i can just grab one of these to get something in my tummy.

Welcome new folks! I'm a few days behind, as I always am when I'm on the road, but still I like to check in and try to keep up.
Has anyone heard from Shadie Purple in a while?? Miss her posts. Well, I finally found another Wally-world with broccoli salad. I bought 3 large containers to last for a little while. I LOVE that stuff!! I got in another workout this morning, too, so I'm staying on track with exercise, but as I mentioned on the Old Hens thread, my eating took a small dive yesterday. The stress of dealing with the possibility of buying a new house kind of got to me, but I still didn't lose my mind the way i used to. Like you've been talking about - your tastes actually change when you get used to eating better... OK, I still went overboard with the second order of raisen toast, but only because I didn't have any broccoli bliss salad to binge on at the time. I don't know if I'll make that Valentine's day goal, but it'll be close. Garnet, haven't spoken with you lately, but I hope you're doing better than I am! I hope everyone is!! Regarding rate of weight loss, the doc i was going to a couple years ago said that 3.5 was the maximum healthy loss - .5 pounds a day - to prevent your body from starting to burn muscle as well as fat. Who knows. As long as I'm losing, I'm heading in the right direction. it's a way of life, right? The cats out of the bag - my MIL is THE biggest gossip on the ENTIRE planet, and she asked how much I'd lost the other day. I told her, so by now everyone in the family knows and will be saying something at Easter. I would have preferred that they not be TOLD, since then whatever they say just doesn't seem sincere, know what i mean? But it doesn't really matter I guess. I'd still like to be down that 40 pounds by Easter anyway. I worked out this morning and have been trying to keep up with my walking, in spite of my ankle tendon. Every other part of my body wants to go farther, faster, and longer, but those tendons just aren't on the team right now. That's it for my 2 cents. I'm rooting for you all, and glad to see newcomers as well! Welcome, and GO for it!!! |
Hi Everyone
I'm not doing very good with my eating this week and my stupid, rotten scale keeps saying 263.6 lbs. :( Oh well, I guess that I'll just have to be more vigilant about what goes in my mouth. :) As far as losing weight too fast--I talked to the gym manager about it--he said that they tell you 1-2 lbs. a week because they figure that with moderate exercise and modifying your diet that people will be able to lose 1-2 lbs. without any real problems. He basicly said that you can lose weight faster if you're bigger and that it probably won't hurt you because you have so much to lose. He's not saying that you should lose 100 lbs. in a month ;) , but he is saying that you can safely lose 3-4 lbs. on some weeks and it won't really hurt you if you're following a healthy diet and exercise program. And for those cardio lovers out there--if you add some strength training in it will help you to lose the 3-4 lbs. instead of just 1-2 lbs. Not to mention the fact that you're toning those beautiful muscles of yours. :) I have to go, but I wanted to add my 2¢ about what he told me. Keep up the good work everyone and I think it was Lilion who had the disappointing weigh in  try not to be too disappointed. You are probably gaining some muscle and that's why the scale is being evil to you. In a way, it's a good thing. ;) Keep up the good work everyone. :grouphug: I'll talk to you later if I can. Vicki |
