300+ And Ready To Try Again...#826
WELCOME !!!
We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs. We want to invite everyone to join us in our journey. We share laughter and tears. We share what works for us and what doesn't. We often use a "Topic of the Day" for discussion. Motivational Monday Tuesday Tips Wednesday Wish List .. and What you are doing to obtain it. Thankful Thursday FUN Friday ... don't wait until you lose your weight. Sit-up Saturdays - any physical activity Share your Success Sunday These are not required topics ...just ideas to share. We often find them very helpful. We also share heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations. We have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, and more. Please feel free to check them all out. We have found this thread to be more than just a support group... we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us. WELCOME! I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out. If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for Amazon on any page in the forum, or by clicking on the button on the main 3FC page at www.3fatchicks.com . A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site. Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker. There have been some concerns expressed by the powers that be about copyright infringement. So please, if you are directly quoting someone else or printing an article in whole or in part, please give credit where credit is due!!!! |
Good Morning everyone,
Congrats to all the loosers. To those of you "stuck", Hang in there and keep on moving. Wylenn: Happy Brithday Honey! So sorry I missed your day! I am slowly coming out of a funk. Thank you for welcoming me back Kayley. Be blessed today all, Dogpal |
Hello All,
I have a good day today, I think when I have down days like over the weekend, then when my mood starts to lift the day is much brighter. Zelma - good on you for pushing yourself to get up that bit earlier on the weekends to exercise. I actually find that mornings are a bad time for me to exercise. Even with a warm up I am too stiff and sore. So I tend to exercise at around 2.30 in the afternoon if I can. It makes the world of difference. Kayley - I have to say I was gobsmacked (shocked) to hear that Felicia had been reported. I will really miss her. I have her email address and I asked her if she could give me her blog address, and if I could pass it on to others. I am waiting to hear back from her. Salsasize, the DVD I have is great fun, and no you don't need to know the basics first. Rosemary teaches you the basics and then she incorporates exercise in with them. I really do enjoy it. Amber - well done on the 4 lbs lost :cheer: you are doing so great even with the trials and tribulations of your home life right now. You are certainly having to deal with a lot, and I think you are amazing not throwing in the towel with the diet and waiting til life is less chaotic. Good for you :bravo: Dogpal - so sorry to hear you have been feeling down. I think a nice phone call telling you you got that job might be just what the doctor ordered. I hope you hear something soon. Wow Christine will be pleased to hear you are a independant sales consultant for that Watkins stuff. She will be able to have all her questions answered now :D Garnetfairy - wow does Richard REALLY go into those chats? I always worry that although they say it's him, it's just somebody who works for him. It's one of the reasons I never felt inclined to join the clubhouse. Good for you for doing that 2 mile WATP, does it feel like you are getting a good work out? I am glad your latest lot of meds seem to be helping you get better! Wyllen - oh I wish I liked strawberries, then I could be drooling over the dark chocolate covered ones you said were brought in for you. I am glad hubby cooked you a nice meal too. It makes all the difference being spoiled on your birthday doens't it. Oh and hey, check your junk mail folder, I sent you an ecard yesterday. Jill - wow you set your alarm early, I sometimes don't go to sleep much before your alram goes off lol. Lovelylatina - :cheer: that is brilliant news about the 3 lbs lost :cheer: that new diet you are on is obviously agreeing with you. Do you ever feel hungry on it? Try not to focus on how long it's going to take you to get to goal, set up mini goals all along the way. Focusing on them and reaching them will help the journey not seem so horrendous! Crock - so sorry to hear about your granny, I hope she will be home soon. Well I better go get something to eat, I hope everybody is well and I will pop back on later to see who has been on. Hugs, Ammi |
Fitness Club Question
Hello Chickies,
Have any of you tried Curves? If so, did/do you like it? Are they fat friendly? |
Jill - And I thought I had to get up early! (5:30am)...I am not envious...lol.
Wyllenn - Right now we are learning about perception and senses and things...it's kinda boring...at least to me! I wanna get to the crazy people! LOL! Cindy - Congrats on your 3 pound loss! Hope this system works for you! Crock - Sorry to hear about your grandma. Hope she gets better soon! The first week of SB can be tough for someone who's never done low carb. Should be "easy" somewhat for you, like it was for me, since we'd done Atkin's before. Ammi - There's so many dvds and equipment that I want to buy!! NO FAIR!!! lol Well, I'm just hanging around until Mom and Larry (my stepdad) head out for their dart league tonight...then I'll be able to do a good workout with the music as loud as I want it! |
Melodious - I'm not a member of curves...I know Valerie (NoLifeWithoutHorses) belongs to it, and likes it a lot! You may want to send her a PM!
|
Since the server transfer I have had a lot of problems logging in and reading old posts...so I am really behind. Someone got reported? I am confused? Kayley did you get my PM about the clothes?
Curves....fat friendly yes...boring..yes...worth the money...if you stick to it and don't expect it to work miracles. I quit for reasons personal to me. Just know that nobody who works there has any sort of background in health or fitness and that if you were willing to make about $8.00/hour you could probably also get a job there. There was a comfort in working out with only women...there are often a lot of older and heavier women there...sometimes we had some younger and thinner women there who tried to make it a more high intensity workout...but it's not really the place for that. All I can tell you is that you have to try it out to see if you like it...but be warned that once they have you and your money it will cost you more to leave than to stay. |
If you dont mind and it is not against protocols, I would really like to know what Felicia got reported for and to whom and why it means she is not longer here. I dont want to make a similar mistake unknowingly. Thank you.
Crock - Really sorry your grandma is having difficulties...I hope all is well soon! Ammi, there is no way to tell for sure if it is Richard but it sure sounds like the way he would talk. The other members chatting seem sure that it is him and some of them have met him and been on stage with him and did a radio show with him and all of that good stuff. So I would think it really is him. Anyway, it is a great chat...this topic was on kindness focusing kindness to ourselves so we can reflect more kindness on others. Basically he wants us to do good to ourselves and pamper ourselves and pat ourselves on the back and be our own cheering section so even if nobody else is kind to us at least we are ourselves. Also so we have motivation to eat right and exercise for ourselves rather than doing it for someone else. Cindy congratulations on your reduction!! Lovelylatina - I think you gave some really good advice there. Amber hurray for less of you! Dogpal, do you ship Watkins? I can ask my mom if she needs anything, I know she likes the flavorings to use in glazes and cakes and stuff. Zelma - hurray you found time to exercise after all! I am so glad I do not have to get up early anymore! Good news/bad news - I weighed in today and I had a loss, but it was only 1 pound. But it brings my total for the year up to 20 pounds which I think is a good thing so I rewarded myself with 3 new exercise DVDs ($10.00 at walmart) and a couple of fitness magazines. I got: Dance off the Inches - 15 minute express (+ 10 minutes "dance off") Crunch Fat Burning Dance Party - 45 minutes Denise Austin Power Zone "The Ultimate Metabolism Boosting Workout" - 55 minutes and Natural Health and Health magazines. I hope everyone is having a great week and removing those pounds and inches in great abandon! I love you all for being here and letting me "talk" to you! |
I didn't get a PM from you Julee :(

Hi all - just checking in from the road, outside of Raleigh, NC this time.
Hello and welcome, Melodious! I just joined Curves last October and it's been worth every penny for me. I'll be visiting one here in NC in the morning. I've been to quite a few since I travel so much, and that was a major attraction for me. YES, they are DEFINATELY fat friendly, and the idea behind the hydrolic equipment they use is that it's not only low impact and fast, it adjusts to individual's stregnth and fitness. My battery is dying, so I'll just say I love it there. My own branch is still my fav and the most fun I've found. Take care all!! |
Valerie - Pop by Statesville, and say HEY to my Aunt! :D Glad to hear you are staying safe. :)
|
Garnetfairy - What a NICE reward for yourself! I think I'm going to try another dvd when I get enough money. I need to buy a couple books first, though....

scale won't read..too heavy
Hi this is my first week. I started WW from home on Monday. I know I am around 300 because I was just at the docters Once I saw the 300 on the slider I just looked away. You know if you don't know you don't need to deal with it. Well I decided that I have to deal with it, I don't reconise the girl in the mirror anymore. Anyways Monday I tried to way myself and the scale keeps reading EE. I know it works fine because I weighed my daughter to make sure. My guess is that it dosen't read after 300 pounds. I made a slider chart with my 10 pound goal which was silly since I can't even weigh in yet. Has this ever happened to anyone?? I'm so embarased

Evening girlies!
Valerie ~ I am happy to hear that you are enjoying your gym so much. We had a wellness fair today at my work and Curves was there with free one week passes. Of course I took 2 ( one for my sister)! I can't wait to go and check it out. If I don't think it is for me then I am not out anything and if I DO like it, BONUS!:D Garnet ~ I must have missed it re. Felicia too. Also, I have the cardio dance DVD too. It is SO fun :) I am not NEARLY that coordinated but it is fun to mix it up and try! Great rewards!! Anything that makes you move AND laugh is well worth the cost :) Its great that you showed a loss too! Go and lift a 20lb bag of potatoes and you will realize just how "worth it" it is!!!! Ammi ~ Happy to see you are in better trim and that you arent down today  I too would like felicia's blog address and please feel free to pm me to share it if she doesnt mind. That way we can still keep in touch with her. Crockett ~ How is your south beach going?? I am doing OK with it but my hubby is struggling a bit :) What type of things are you eating? We seem to be going through a lot of eggs! *L* Hello's to dogpal, amber, julee, lovely latina, jilly, zelma, kayley.....nad anyone else out there that I have left out :) OK that is all for tonight... american idol is calling my name *L* I love the tryouts! Some people should NOT sing :D Brenda  |
Hello!
Welcome to 3FC!! I am sure that this has happened to MOST of us so please don't feel like you are alone :)Some have been here a while and still can't use their scales:) something that makes it worth it is the "non scale victories" that we share here. Sometimes they can be silly, sometimes big, sometimes small, but always worth it :D You can use these NSV to motivate you to get to the point where you can use your scales. Brenda  |
