Felicia - that is fantastic that you can already fit on the Gazelle rider, ok you can't move your legs yet, but your body size is so obviously going down :carrot: It won't be long until you can add that bit of exercise equipment along with all the other stuff in your home gym!!
Nancy - if I lived closer I would be there like a shot to cook for you. It's such a simple meal to cook and it warms the house lol. It's bitterly cold here. Crock - glad to have chatted earlier, hope we get to talk some more later. Sharon (neurotica) - haven't heard from you in ages, are you ok? Wyllen - have you had a good birthday? I am about to watch a tv show now about a half a tonne weight man. Has anybody else seen it? Bye for now, Hugs, Ammi :grouphug: |
Thank you all for your encouragement on the disappointing reading on the new scales. I keep telling myself that I have still lost the same amount of weight, but I just want to get those scales moving down again. I suppose I won’t kick myself too much as long as they don’t creep up too much either, with TOM being close.
Wyllen – Happy Birthday!! I hope you had a wonderful day, doing exactly what you felt like. Sharon – I have been having weeks like you seem to be having. I have been working out SO well and eating well, but on my TOM weeks I gain a little weight, then it takes FOREVER to lose that and some more. I figure that I have to cut back on my calories a little more, but I LOVE my food and am mostly living on fruit and veg. Oh well… good luck to both of us for future weigh-ins. Happy birthday for Wednesday, just in case I miss it. Are you planning on doing anything exciting? Lilion – Good luck at the dentist. I am SO bad about keeping appointments with dentists. I am due to have a clean and just can’t bring myself to book in. Last year I had to have a couple of crowns done and a thorough clean, as I hadn’t been for a LONG time. I know I have to keep it up, but I just don’t like dentists. I also really can’t afford to go at the moment, but I will book within the month. I think… Kayley – I was really hoping that the other doctor was just one you were sent to for the physical. Is your regular doctor more supportive? I hope so. You really seem to be in the right frame of mind at the moment about your progress. That is wonderful to see. Ammi – You may be on the right track with getting up earlier to fit in the exercise. I was being a little lazy on the weekends and not exercising in the mornings, hoping to fit in enough walking during the day. It wasn’t really the same though, so I have decided that I don’t really need to sleep in as much on the weekends and I am feeling much better about that. I still get to sleep in half an hour or so more than work days, so that is still a bit of a novelty. Good luck with trying to get a workout in before the kids get up though. I must admit that this has all been easier with just myself and DH to consider. You are right about the scales. This set seems as though they are accurate and a good enough set, so I am hoping this will be it for now. The other two sets I have are good, but I wanted to progress from analogue (if that’s what you call the old set) to digital, and then I wanted a set to read the body fat %. I think I am set now. I don’t think there is much more they can do to develop scales. Heather – Good luck on resisting the temptation of the cookies. I know that I had to remove temptation from the house for the first 6 months of my journey into a new lifestyle. I was hopeless if something was around. It seemed to ‘call’ me from the pantry or wherever. I’m fine now, and hubby is able to have some treats available, but he doesn’t even seem to want them now, which is great. I must admit that the healthier cookies do still sound VERY tempting, but I will try not to see if we have them available over here. Felicia – Congrats on the loss and WELL DONE on your battle with Aunty Flo! She needs a good swift kick now and then. I think you are sending her to visit me soon, and I hope I can defeat her as well as you have done, or my poor little chickadees at school could suffer. I’m not sure they would understand if I tried explaining PMS to them. Seven year olds have such a little grasp of such things. Christine – You should go in and show the doc that you may have had SOME idea of what you were talking about. It never ceases to amaze me that, as you say, they tell you to lose weight, but then pay more attention to the gains than the losses. Perhaps they need to add an extra course at med college to cover this. Oh, and that dip stuff you are talking about sounds delicious, and pretty versatile. I am like you and would love it if products contained a LOT less salt. We don’t add salt to anything at home and would love less salt in packaged goods. Well, that's about it for me. I'm cheating and fitting this in before I head off to school. Gotta rush now! Take care all, Zelma |

I really wish I could find more low sodium stuff in the regular grocery stores too. I think that is one reason I'm actually thinking about ordering those dip mixes- one servering/teaspoon has 4% of the RDA for sodium, which is about what a cup of milk has. Here in the states there is a product that is marketed as popcorn seasoning, but you can use for lots of other things too- that is fairly low sodium & low calorie called Kernel Season's. I've tried White Cheddar & Ranch- so far the the White Cheddar is my favorite on popcorn. I saw it advertised in a Weight Watchers magazine or I never would have tried. They have something like 10 different flavors...I'm not too sure how chocolate marshmellow would taste on popcorn, but I bet it would be good on other things. For you gals in the midwest, I know Meijer carries it & for everyone else, some WalMart Supercenters are suppose to have it too- otherwise if you go to their we site you can check who carries it in your area....it even looks like some movie theaters have it too- I haven't been in so long that I wouldn't know-lol |
Nancy - Good for you...staying away from the EVILS of G.S. cookies! :D I sure hope something comes along, too...I definately need the cash!
Ammi- Salsasize sounds fun! Is it easy to learn, or do you have to know the basics to do it? Zelma - Well, I haven't been to my family doctor since I had insurance...back in November, and that was before I started my weight loss journey. Although, he is really nice, and very supportive, so I can't wait to drop a bunch of weight, and then go back in for a check-up!! :D If anyone happens to have the link for Felicia's blog, could you send it to me? I really wanted to keep in touch with her...I'm sad that someone reported her! :( |
Catching up...checking in...
I am so sorry that I don't have time to make individual replys, but I did just catch up reading the last two threads anyway.
Congrats Ammi, and everyone else with losses to report. WAY TO GO!!! And Kayley--I CANNOT BELIEVE the nerve of your doctor, I'm afraid I would have said something... ------- As for me, well I weighed in yesterday and lost another 4 lbs. which puts me past my Valentine's Day goal. Which I'm very pleased with. However, things at my house have gone from hectic to chaotic, and I haven't been getting my exercise in like I should. And I'm a little dissappointed about that, but I am trying to get it in the best I can. I don't know how many of you know, but I live with my father, who is paralyzed and immobile, my younger brother and his two daughters. Well Matt, my brother, has been working nights. So we would have dinner and put the girls to bed then he went to work, but he was here during the evenings. Well he has been switched to days (2nd shift) which means he works from 2pm - 11 pm. And since we share my car that means I spend my lunch hour driving half an hour to my house and then taking him to work and then going back to work. And when I get off of work I drive to his work and he spends his lunch hour taking Kaitlyn and I home and then he goes back to work. So I have both girls and my dad (which he is able to take care of himself for the most part) by myself all evening with no car. I guess I'm just venting, it's just a pain in the butt sometimes. I have to cook for the girls and my dad, cook for me, get the girls fed, eat myself, get the girls bathed and put to bed and then hopefully I can workout, take a shower and go to bed. But I was being able to work out as soon as I walked in the door from work and then right before I went to bed...and that just can't happen now. I really liked working out before I went to work in the early mornings, but I have to wait until Matt gets home from work to go to bed and that puts it close to midnight and I have to be up by 6:30 just to get to work on time so getting up earlier than that is really difficult. I don't know...I'm just frustrated I guess...I finally get started working out and losing weight and everything gets screwed up and I can't do what I think I need to in order to reach my ultimate goal. I'm just ranting...I'll figure something out...or maybe 2 miles a day is all I need to do...but I was so happy with doing my 4. I felt so good and proud of the accomplishment. But okay that's enough raving. I hope that everyone has had a wonderful day today and I wish you all a beautiful day tomorrow. |
Honianangel - Wow, sounds like things are pretty crazy, and I can see why you aren't able to get in all the exercise you want...but at least you are getting in as much as you can fit in!
|
Kayley--I am trying. I guess it's just going to take more work. It's such a new situation that right now I'm just trying to get in the groove...hopefully when the dust settles I will be more able to manage things.
|
Honianangel - Well, here's to hoping we can both hop back on the exercise wagon! I didn't work out today...I was so worn out! Tomorrow, I'll be back with a vengeance, though! :D

Hi Ladies,
Nice to see you are all back after the switchover. I just wanted to stop in this eveing and say hello. I have been feeling really down. It is I'm sure largely in part to TOM. I still haven't heard from the job but I am trying to keep positive about things. I know everything will work out the way it is supposed to. About Watkins products yes they are a US and Canadian thing. I am an independent sales consultant for Watkins. As a matter of fact I just recieved an order of their products this afternoon. I love everything I have tried so far. The dips are delicious and for those of you who do eat some salt or sodium they have a couple of products that are salts, like a chedder cheese salt that tastes yummy on a baked potato with cottage cheese and brocoli instead of butter and sour cream. Well all, blessings to you and hope that you are all doing well. I know in a day or two I will be feeling back to normal. Blessings, Dogpal |
Today I did my first 2 mile WATP up until now I had only been doing 1 mile. I did the Heart Healthy walk or whatever it is called. Anyway, I am happy about that. At Richard Simmons.com I participated in a chat with Richard, that was neat. I weigh in tomorrow at the gym and plan to work out. My latest course of antibiotics seem to be working so far, knock wood.
Congrats to all the losers and the maintainers happy birthday to the birthday girls Kayley that doctor should be reported to the AMA for being a jerk. Ammi - congratulations on a successful weigh in. Girl scout cookies, indeed. |
Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone. The big 4-0 is not that bad. I had a harder time dealing with 30. I think a big reason is because I'm doing so much for myself right now. Didn't do a lot to celebrate (except be on the phone for like 3 hours this evening with various family members), but my husband made dinner (and it was great! Pork loin, green beans with a balsamic vinaigrette and couscous!). Our secretary brought in gorgeous chocolate covered strawberries (with dark chocolate), and that was my birthday treat!

Good to see you posting, Dogpal!

Wyllen, your meal sounds nice, I had to cook my own! I had it last night, on your birthday, garlic bread, meat filled fresh pasta and Black Forest gateau mmmmm. I need all week to work that lot off!!!!!!! Also on Saturday we all went for a curry, I like Kormas as I hate really hot stuff.
Zelma, you have still lost the same AMOUNT of weight, though I understand how you feel, I'm relieved as TOM is due, I thought it was due next week so it explains the black mood and small loss. About the scales 'sticking' look at my ticker I need to lose loads, you are so very close to target. I really admire you for sticking it out, I would have decided to call it a day and stay as I am, THAT'S why I'm so big, I keep giving up, you stick with it, so give yourself a break, YOU ARE SUCH AN INSPIRATION!!! I have to go now but hugs and best wishes to everyone, Honiangel, I thought my life was stressful!!!!!;) bye, xxsharon |
Wyllenn - At least you had dark chocolate, which is better for you! Sounds like you had a nice time. :)
Garnetfairy - Hope those antibiotics do their job!!! Sharon - Sounds like you also had a nice birthday dinner...I'm so glad my birthday isn't for another 4 months, so I don't have to "worry" about it! :D Last night, my Mom told me that my Aunt and Uncle, and my 3 cousins from North Carolina are going to be coming up here to Michigan over the 4th of July weekend this year. This is going to give me a little extra motivation to do this!! I saw my Aunt and Uncle last year at my Mom's wedding, and I was at my heaviest. I would really like to just to look GOOD! Hehe...And I haven't seen my cousins in a couple of years, so that'd be nice to surprise them, too! I'm off to work out...going to do a little this morning on top of this evening's to make up for not working out yesterday! I'm so beat...I'm running on 4 hours of sleep, but I've GOTTA work out! Hopefully, it'll wake me up as well. I'll be back! :D |
Well, I did 10 minutes of cardio with my dance dvd. Got my heart rate up, and WOKE me up! Going to add more to that number tonight! I'll have the house to myself, so the music is going to be LOUD! lol.
Well, I'm off to English Comp., and Psychology. I also have to go back to that godforsaken walk in clinic today to get the results of my T.B. test for work. If that doctor is rude to me again...I don't know what I'll do! You chicks have a good morning! |
