exactly, Felicia! BUt my goal is a minimum of 100 ounces, too... so.... HELLLLLLO bathroom! lol
I actually remember from YEARS ago...from a grad student of mine who had lost a lot of weight... her motto was "Pee clear once a day" --- meaning, of course, if you're peeing and there is NO color at all, you've had enough water... so... now the game I play with myself is how EARLY in the day can I pee clear!!... lol (ok--y'all just tell me if I'm using the word "pee" too much and being too graphic.....lol) BUt.. the real point for me is --- anythign I can make a game of, I am much more likely to do -- that's why WW points is good for me -- keeping track, figuring out oints, etc.. and fitday is great, too, because it's a game to plug everything in there. anyway... helps ME to look at it that way :) Hope everyone is doing well today --- I am SOOO happy it's Friday, I can't even TELL you how happy that makes me lol |
:nono: Princess!! You don't need any Naaaaasty chocolate cake! You'll feel better later if you're only out the money, not up on empty calories too! Now is the perfect opportunity to PROVE to yourself you can beat that emotional eating & rise victorious over this whole thing. BRAVO! I know you're doing it already!!! Bummer about that stupid tow job, huh? *** What kind of documentary is your friend doing?
Jilly, I'm in the mid-280's and just now getting back in the 22's. Now that you're so on track and headin' down, you'll be losing a size soon, I'm sure! Zelma, you're little grasshopper girl sounds so cute! Isn't it nice to know that parents are setting such examples for their kids to follow? It must be a real trip for returning students to see you now! What fun! Julee, My color was royal blue, and the bouquets were gorgous arrays of blue - tons of color. We had a huge jacuzzi in our HM room and I set my flowers on the edge and they looked beautiful flowing down the side. Also, my dad raises peacocks and my step Mom gave me some white feathers to go in the bouquet. I was a little embarrassed to take them to the florist and request that she work them in, but my SM, whom I adore, is one of those people who gets what she wants. The florists face betrayed that she thought it was weird but she said she would try. She later told me that she had been skeptical, but was ultimately thrilled with how pretty they looked. I still have a couple of those feathers. The 'funny now but horrifying then' story is that the morning of my wedding when I was already stressed to my limits, my friends went to pick up the flowers for my hair while I was getting my hair done. They returned with a headband with the most HIDDEOUS, UGLY, BIG GLOBBY RED and white roses I'd ever seen! I remember sitting in the salon chair absolutely GASPING - "THOSE AREN"T MY FLOWERS!?!" About then the florist called my cell in a slight panic because a different employee had given us, obviously, the wrong flowers, and the red bride with the horrible taste in head dresses was looking for the monstrosity I'd been given. I have to say, the 3 months I was engaged were probably the most horrible, stressful months I've ever survived. I really dispised myself then just because of the way I looked. I really wanted to be a size 5 bride, like that would have made a lick of difference in our love or our dreams together. I wish I could have known then how wonderfully it would all come out, and I wish I'd understood my own value. Bill did. God bless the men who see and love who we really, not just our social packaging. Kayley - Fantastic job on the exercise!!! I'm so excited for you! It will keep getting easier with time. Imagine how good you'll feel this time next year!? WTG! Nancy - Congrats on the lost weight!! Crock - I'm with the rest of the gang - ELECTRIC. Having a little trouble with the sight sticking, so can't read all of the rest of the posts now. Hopefully this will post. If not, you probably haven't missed much. =) |
JUst a quickie, Crockett, those women sound like a right coven!!!!:( Give them a miss, stay with us!!! I have been here since Augst05 and everyone here is positive and supportive, also we all try to phrase things nicely, so as not to offend.
I have an nsv to report, after two weeks OP I had lost and inch from bust, waist and hips, now four weeks in I have lost two inches from my hips altogether!! :carrot: It's brill as I have an awful 'flap' of tummy hanging down to my hips, so it looks like its getting smaller!!WooHoooo I hope you are all well. Kayley its 'Holywood' but it fits me now and I'm a Uk 20 top. I bought it just before getting pregnant with my youngest and I'm only just wearing it now, the skirts would cost about £4 to post, but if you like I could have a sort out & see, they are layered 'gypsy' style ones, and great for this time of year, with leggings or leg warmers. Give me some time and we'll have to see how things go. bye for now, sharon. |
Okay, gotta do a quick wedding post for Julee!
My FIRST wedding was great...marriage sucked, but wedding rocked! It was New Years Day and the colors were silver and this deep jewel-like maroon color...not burgundy-redder. My dress had irridessent beads that picked up the red. It was quite pretty. I took a swatch of the bridesmades dress to the flower shop and found silks in exactly the same shade for my flowers. I did my own and used silks, easier and cheaper, since I paid for it myself. There were these irridessent bead sparkly things in among the roses. We had the wedding in a hotel and, since it was NY day it was dirt cheap...tourist area off season. They still had Xmas trees with maroon decorations up in the ballroom and we filled the ceiling with balloons in red, silver, white with irridessent ribbons hanging down, keeping with the whole NY theme. My second wedding was more formal than the first and the colors more subdued. We had a smaller wedding and reception was a tea. My bridesmaides wore a pale peach color, the men charcoal morning coats. The bridesmaid dresses were a literally last minute replacement for this lovely pale moss green they were supposed to be...4 days before the wedding we discovered they weren't going to work out! A nightmare from ****! Anyway, I did my own flowers again. Silks again. (Paid it myself again! Sucks to get married later in life.) This time they were white roses with just the barest tip of pink on the petals. They were nice too. We used the same roses on the tables and even on the wedding cake. Many times later I wished I'd have gone with more vibrant colors and an outdoor wedding. But I think I'll not have another just to get it right! I'll wait for a big anniversary! |
Hey Chickies!
Just wanted to wish everyone a really good weekend. Mine will be busy. I have to go to a class tomorrow for about 9 hours to get certified as a BLS (basic life support) instructor. That way I can certify the people I work with in CPR, First Aid and AED (defib). Sunday I'm on call for the fire department from 12a to 12a. Another stay at home day...but that's OK with me. My pup is doing real well. Her tail seems to be healing nice and she's back to her old self again. :fr: Did my aerobics again today. They seem to be getting easier and easier, except the one that has more to do with the arms. They get so tired and rubbery. I wish there was somewhere else I can do them instead of my basement. I'm 6' tall and keep hitting the ceiling rafters...cut my finger pretty good yesterday. Can't do them upstairs because I'll end up tripping over one of the dogs. I guess I'll just have to be a little more careful! I had a real yummy chicken dish last night. I'll post it on the recipe board. It may sound questionable but believe me, it tastes AWESOME! Hugs, Sarah |
Felicia - Every time I see Tony Little on TV, I can't help but bust out laughing! It's great that he has the enthusiasm, but dang! As long as it's helping you (and your husband), that's all that matters!
Sharon - That sounds a little like something I was looking at at Walmart the other day! I just don't know about customs, as Ammi was talking about how EXPENSIVE it can be! But if it went through for $4, that'd be great! Is there any way to see how much customs is? Sarah - Sounds like a busy weekend! But being at home will give you more time to exercise, which is ALWAYS good! Well, chicks. I'm just doing a little bit of laundry, and I still need to get in the shower, as I got side-tracked earlier, when I was SUPPOSED to be doing it! hehe...Then it's off to Andrew's! |
Kayley - If you only ship a few items and you write GIFT all over the package, you probably won't need to pay any customs duties. You don't have to pay customs on gifts. Maybe the amount Ammi's friend sent her made the customs people think she was using them for a shop or something. :)
Also, I wouldn't go crazy with clothing shopping until you know where you are going to work. The office I work in is very casual. We only dress up when we know there are guests coming. You may not need much in the way of new clothes depending on the place. Julee/Valerie/Lillion - Just hearing about wedding planning makes me want to elope when the time comes. So many details - I hate event planning! Although I suppose that since I would be doing it for myself then there would be no one else to complain when things didn't go exactly right. About the water - I am not convinced it is the hydration that does it, but maybe all of the extra exercise from having run up to go to the bathroom every hour! ;) TGIF!! I just can't decide if I am going to go back to the gym and on the treadmill tonight or I am going to go home and try this new Bollywood workout DVD I got from Amazon yesterday. Either way it all has to be done by 8:00 because it is Friday night - my one "religious" TV night. I have to watch Stargate (both SG1 and Atlantis) and Battlestar Gallactica. I know Wyllen said she was a BSG fan - any other sci-fi junkies here? |
Nancy - Thanks for the info on customs! If I didn't have to pay that, it would be great!
|
Ooh-ooh! That's what I'll be doing tonight too! :) SG-1 is my favorite show, although I have to say that I miss RDA and liked it much better with him. He's the only man I ever told my bf he'd have to be afraid I'd leave him for. :D I absolutely adore that man. And as much as it galls me to admit it--I do like the new BSG. I still have a problem with Starbuck being a girl, but I like the stories themselves. They're pretty interesting. And I do have to say that I liked the--what's the word I'm looking for?--I think the original cast had a better chemistry together. I liked it better anyway.
Hi everyone  Now that I've got my sci-fi out of the way ;) lets talk weight loss. Haven't been to the gym yet this week. :( Robin and I are definitely going to re-start on Monday and my life has been quite the drama for the past few days. I won't go into it, but just let me say that it's taking all I have to not stuff food in my mouth just to make myself feel better. One good thing though is that I don't feel like I need to eat all day long so that is progress. And I've been able to NOT overeat and I've pretty much stayed on plan. Meaning that I've been doing good and I'm down to 261.6 which is still a 1 pound loss so far this week. And I cheated guys--cheated in a I made a lasagna with lots of pasta, cheese and garlic bread kind of way. :o It was good too. I only had one piece though and I've now cut the rest of it up, wrapped it and put it in the freezer. And the best part is that when I weighed myself this morning I was still at the 261.6 so I'm ecstatic. :carrot: I guess that I am finding out that I really can eat anything in moderation. Sharon--great NSV--:bravo: I noticed that about myself the other night. I was sitting on the couch and I could actually tell that I was smaller than I used to be. It feels great and I'm so happy for you!:carrot: Speaking of NSV's--did I tell you all about how I saw my sister-in-law's sister for the first time since I've been losing weight? She was with her fiancee and all of a sudden I heard someone saying--"Damn! We're going to have to start calling you skinny." It was awesome having someone who I haven't seen in a while exclaim over how "good you look". :o I still think--know :dizzy: -- that I have a way to go yet, but it still felt pretty wonderful to hear things like that. It actually made me think about my extended family. I hope that I don't see any of them until I'm either down to my goal weight or like a size 12 or really close to where I want to be. It will be such a shock for them, you know what I mean? :D And another NSV--now this might sound kind of silly and I hope it's not TMI--but the other day I was on the toilet and I lifted my belly up and for the first time in years I actually saw the top of my legs. :o :^: I only even tried to look because it was itchy and I just kept scratching. I didn't think I would be able to see anything because I couldn't in the past. While it seems like the belly isn't go down at all--I'm wrong, it is. And that's my NSV. Oh and I actually have another one to report! I was talking to my bf's best friend and get this--LAST MONTH my bf was talking to Bob and he said, "You know what? I was looking at Vicki today and you know what? She's lost a lot of weight." Bob said to him, "Dude, you're just noticing this now?" and Paul told him, "I live there and see her every day so I don't notice it. She's looking really good." Bob just laughed at him. That is what Bob told me Paul said. :cb: :cp: Now you guys just know that he wouldn't tell me how good I look--not my bf. But hearing that he's noticing is quite a boost. Darn--I have to go. My niece is on the phone and I told her I'd take her out today. Have a good day. Vicki :) |
Vicki: Woo Hoo on the NSV's! Don't they just make your day!
On the topic of Sci-Fi: I'm a HUGE Sci-Fi fan! I've seen every single episode of Stargate SG-1, Atlantis and BSG! I have to admit, I didn't like the old BSG very much...but the new one ROCKS! SG-1 is my favorite though! I must admit, I am an all-around nerd. I'm one of the few girls I ever knew who collected comics as a kid. I've seen every episode of Star-Trek. In a recent game of Scene It I was the only woman present who could give the last names of all seven main Star-Trek characters. I even read fan fiction. :o Top that off with being in the SCA and dressing up in the 13th century for fun and I am without a doubt a mega nerd! But at least I don't speak Klingon! (A little Elvish maybe...but not Klingon! :p) |
Hi, Kayley, did u mean the skirts, as I'm hanging on to the mm tshirt, the skirts are either UK 18/20/22, I will need to check but as long as one is loose on me I'd be happy to send you one. (They are crushed velvet with elasticated waists) I will pm you after the weekend.
Dolphin, GOOD FOR YOU!!! it helps us, nsvs to stick to our healthy way of life when the scales aren't moving. Wish a guy, ANY guy, said something nice to me about getting slimmer.;) Sarah Fire Angel, put the dogs downstairs!! you exercise upstairs.:joker: (not really). Got to go for a shower bytw I LOVE Star Gate, and General Jack, mmmmm. bye, xxxsharon.:grouphug: |
