Hi ladies,

Sorry I've been AWOl for a couple of days. DH has forgotten to set his alarm the last few days and I've slept right through my exercise time. And I've been working on paperwork in the mornings too. I just have not been productive in the evenings.

We're about to exhause the first round of house searching. I think DH will do a drive-by on two more places and then we're done until new stuff comes on the market. Thank goodness because it is a time-sucker. I told DH that I can't spend all the time looking and not working on getting this house ready for sale. We're planning on 3/1 so lots of stuff to be done. I may be scarce the next few weeks. I'll try to be here as best I can.

Food has been okay. DH has spent so much time during the day driving around that he isn't in the cooking mode when he comes home nor have groceries in the house. I told him that that has got to stop - we're not eating out all the time just because he's disorganized about the food.

Oh yuck, I sprayed spray butter on my toast this morning and it was the garlic & herb flavor. Blech!

Lilion - :bravo: You are doing great!!!! See, a little exercise and a little focus can make a difference! Keep working hard!

Wendy - I believe you asked about the Dr. P book. Sorry for not answering sooner. I loved his Weight Loss challenge book.

Laelle - What happened to you? Come out, come out whereever you are!

Valerie - Where are you at now? Still hitting the curves? Drive safe!

Thin - You've been too busy lately!

Okay, I've run out of time so I better get my butt to work. I'm getting a haircut and highlight tonight so I'll have to rush out to feed horses then back to town to the stylist. I'll have to walk the dog later.

Good Afternoon Ladies!

Boy is it SLOW here! Everyone must be busy, busy, busy! I actually don't have anything to report myself, but didn't want to let the thread die a quiet death. :p

I'm still OP. Well, except that I keep forgetting I just LOST 2 pts and I'm only supposed to eat 28 now instead of 30! I'm going to a Pampered Chef party tonight and have no idea what they'll be serving, but I'm sure it'll be nice and fattening, so I'm being extra good today. With my snacks I'm only at 13 pts so far. My morning walk wasn't the brisk 1/2 mile it usually is...I walked with a friend and she wanted to shop instead!

I tried on more old clothes last night and came to the sad conclusion that my black wool slacks, which have hung in the back of my closet for at least 7 years, will not be worn by me this winter. They are 18's and there is just no way my butt is going to shrink that much before it's springtime. So I brought them in to work and told my friend to wear them if they fit or find someone else they will. I'm tired of looking at them, although it has occured to me that they might fit next year, I'm sooo close to wearing them now that I'd actually like to be too small for them next winter!

On the up side, a black suede skirt that's been in my closet since the late 1980's or early 90's fits me like it was tailored to me! What goes with suede??? I need to find a top, just so I can wear it one more time. (I previously planned to cut it up and make purses out of it! - Back when I thought I'd never lose weight!:p )

Wendy: Re that TOM, I usually don't worry about gains, as long as they aren't from eating. If you put on a pound solely due to Aunt Flo, it comes right back off. If cravings are the problem, like for chocolate, I try to keep sugar free fudge bars in the freezer or WW chocolates around.

And my back is feeling OK these days, although one side is still a bit swollen. I need to put ice on it, but I never remember 'cause it doesn't actually hurt unless someone decides to touch it!

Well, that's it! Gotta go.

So, I missed most of my exercise today since the woman I walked with wanted to shop instead and we ended up in a gift shop 1/4 or less down the street. I was OP until I went to the Pampered Chef party...They made this wonderful chicken alfredo soup and turtle cake. I had a small bowl of soup and a small piece of cake. The consultant showed me the nutrition info for the cake and 1/12 was 220 cal's. I had less than 1/2 that much. Since I had 21 points before I went, I had 7 to spend, so I figure I was close.

I have so many clothes that are 3x, I hope they wont fit me anymore in a few months. Every thing still fits now except better, less stretched out. Some of my pants slid off my hips. Good thing is when I get down to 2x I can wear my mom's clothes, then I think I have some 1x or something lower in my closet in the back. But the great thing about fat clothes is the elastic, you can just do a slit and stitch it up and there you go.

I have decided when I lose too much weight to wear the clothes we have here that I am going to get clothes from second hand stores until I get down to my target weight. Might as well be sensible about it. I want a new wardrobe when I level off, of course but I want to make sure I am leveled off before I buy it. I dont have money to throw around on my disability income.
I am saving now for later on when I get down to my permanent weight. I will wait a while to see what weight I maintain too. Not a number on a scale then but more how I feel and what happens when I add back some calories and level off.

That's my game plan anyway...far away as it is, might as well have a plan, cause the time is gonna come soon where it will all be necessary to deal with.

we are here to succeed! and succeed we shall!!

Why do you think it is more difficult to lose weight after 40 anyway? Is there medical evidence and case studies and all that??

Lilion, THAT'S FANTASTIC!!! :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: You deserve every carrot in a 5 pound bag! I see you made your Feb 18th goal ALREADY!!! It's so inspiring to come back from... whereever I've been, and see that kind of success!

Garnetfairy, I'm pretty sure that there's actually proof that our metabolisms slow down after 40, and especially after menapause. I thought I was hitting the Big M a couple months ago, but since I could set my watch by TOM now, I think it was just the huge increase in exercise and other changes in my life at the time. I also lost 11 1/2 pounds that month.... wish I could do that THIS month.:^:

Tried to hit a Curves in Washington, IN, this a.m., but they didn't open till 8, and I had to be on the road to my next pick up by then. Many of them open as early as 6:30, at least some days of the week. Behaving pretty well on the food the last few days - pretty much on plan. Running low on essentials like my chicken now, though, but we'll be going home in about 48 hours. THAT will be a relief! HOOOOOOOOme for a week or two. I just have to discipline myself to get my schoolwork done, or I'll never get that degree so I can quit driving altogether.

Terri, We're house/farm shopping, too. We're still looking at the place I might have mentioned before - old brick house with barn and up to 86 acres total, BUT we finally got the e-mail of the property map, and it's really not clear what's where. What IS clear is the easement - we thought it just ran along one side of the property reserving it for a future ramp if needed, but instead we found that the existing highway is not the Eastern boundry, but instead actually runs through the middle of the place, with two bits of land actually on the OTHER SIDE of the 4 lane divided highway.:( Probably 20 of the 86 acres "for sale" is totally unusable, and another 10 is difficult if not impossible to reach. Furthermore, if we don't buy the whole thing, the back acres could be developed:o :barf: ... with the current driveway becoming the ROAD, within feet of the house! Now, if we can get the whole thing cheap enough, that's still over 50 acres, and the driveway would still be just our driveway. There's no way this place is worth anywhere near what the asking price is!! I hope you're having better luck!!! And better luck with realtors, too... right now, they're in the same class as some of the "doctors" we've talked about.

Rambling again. It's time to get out in the "cold" and go work up a little heat. Blessing, all! have a great on plan day!!!

Good morning friends. Nothing worth writing about but I feel bad for not doing my part to keep this thread going and growing. I know the disappointment of coming in to read and no one has posted.

It is nearly 4am here. I really should not be online... I either need to get back to cleaning house for the weekend... or go to bed. I have company coming over in the morning so no time to do the cleaning in the afternoon.

Good morning ladies,

It was 7 pm when I got home last night and then was too tired to get online. DH pounces with house stuff the minute I walk through the door and is relentless. Him being off all day and available to go look at places is getting to be too much. Plus he's spending way too much money in gas just driving around. I know it gets him out of the house and keeps him from being stir-crazy and depressed but geez, ENOUGH already! He seems to not see all the work that needs to be done around here. He's seen something he likes and is becoming possessed about it. I, however, don't think its right for us and haven't even seen it. He's thinking new house set up perfectly for him and not considering it is not fenced, no barns/loafing sheds already there, no dog fence, and it is restricted on number of horses so that we'd have to purchase more acres if they would allow it. **Sigh**

My mom is coming up tomorrow for a short visit. I need to do house cleaning tonight.

Too bad today isn't Saturday before Saturday. I'd love to have a day at home but without DH. Have I complained recently that he never leaves the house when I'm here? I think I feel a shrieking attack coming on if I don't get the house to myself soon. And longer than for him to go wash the truck.

Valerie - Good to here from you. It is hard to find something already ready for horses and within our price range. I get annoyed when a realtor tries to say "bring your horses" and the land is barely set up for any room to have horses at all or boasts a big pond but the pond doesn't hold water. Then don't try to sell it as horse friendly. :mad: Good luck on your journey too!

Garnet - For me, it has gotten much harder after 40. What worked before just isn't working plus the endurance I had pre-40 doesn't seem to be there as much now. Since hitting 45, I've gained 12 pounds and not really sure why and it won't go away. I've been stuck on a major plateau since and can't seem to shake it. Guess that would be my evidence.

2Cute - Cleaning house at 4 am?? I hope you get some sleep. You know that isn't good for you.

Lilion - Sounds to me that you kept it pretty OP even at the PC party. Its hard not to lose control at those parties because the food is always so darn good. Get to walking today! The weather is supposed to be nice again in MO.

I must drag myself off to work as much as I hate to go. I do mean, hate to go too.

Well, it's morning for a few more minutes at least!

I haven't got much to report.

Garnet: Good plan on the cheap clothes! I still had a lot of my size 20's from last time I weighed this. I tend to keep my expensive stuff at least so I have things that go from an 18 to a 22. I only had one pair of size 20 jeans and simply refused to buy more. So I wore my 24's until I could get into the 20's .... talk about a saggy butt! :lol: A friend here a work loaned me two pair of size 20 jeans so I have something to wear until I'm into my 18's! I hate buying clothes and then not being able to wear them long!

Valerie: Good for you healthy eating on the truck! Boy, I bet you are going to be glad to get home. Enjoy!

Terri: Isn't this the darnest weather! :?: I noticed when I was walking in from the parking lots today that the trees are all budded out and the flowers are starting to come up in the planting beds around my building! I can't even imagine what's going to happen if we get 14 inches of snow in February like we have other years! I'm all for springtime weather, but no cold thru the winter is just nothing but trouble... Hey, have fun with your mom!

2Cute: Goodness - Go to BED! That dirt'll be there in the morning too! I actually have cleaned all night, but only when something was really bothering me!

DH went shopping today. A grocery store was having a huge meat sale. He got four bags of boneless/skinless chicken breasts and 25 pounds of sirloin and chuck. He had a good portion of both ground into burger, some of the sirloin made into steaks, and the rest made into stir-fry and stew meats. I don't know why he didn't think about a roast from the chuck...but oh well. We have a tendancy to run out of meat at home so we thought we should stock up while it was cheap. We are considering buying one of those vacuum sealer things, where you can put stuff in a bag and the machine vacuums out the air and seals the bag, preventing freezer burn. Does anyone have one of those? They sound like a really good idea for folks like us who buy in bulk for the lower prices but won't eat it right away!

Well Ladies, I should wrap it up! I have to take my mile walk at lunch and also eat lunch, so I should get started. I feel really, really good about my weight today. I am actually thinking about getting down to 170 instead of 190...I can't imagine actually weighing what "the charts" say I should weigh. And I'm about 1/2 way there! Today is one of those days where I just know that I can do this! :D

Hi Girleys! I was catching up on my reading everyones posts. It's like having a little window in all of your lives. I love it!
When I was reading about clothes I thought wouldn't it be nice to send each other sizes that we don't wear anymore. Kind of like the sisterhood of the traveling pants! I have a bunch of jeans and can so relate to the saggy butt & the dunlop disease (where my belly don lop over my jeans because they are a bit toooo tight).
Thanks Lilion for moving me (I am so slow).
Todays goal is get my water in and stay away from chocolate!
What does everyone think of the cereal Kashi go lean???

I like the Kashi cereals pretty well, I just forget to buy it. Been super busy here at home this week, I even took the afternoon off yesterday to do some errands that needed doing and still di get finished. One of the biggest things is getting out the W-2's for all of our formet employees. Always before the accountant did them, but since we no longer have an accountant, it's me.

Hi ladies,

Friday night! I was so tired during work today that I was totally unmotivated and uncaring. Not good! But the :censored: boss was not there today so what the heck.

Okay, so I complained about DH driving me nuts with finding houses and driving all over. He found a place today that has potential. We definitely need to pray about it. Its an 18 yo brick home that is 1500 sq on the main floor and 1500 sq finished downstairs. The downstairs has a storm shelter (eases my tornado fears), large living room area, understairs storage, wet bar that needs work, bathroom with shower, two bedrooms and an open area. I'm thinking mom would be okay down there eventually. If she can handle the stairs. Hmm, that's a thought. There are five bedrooms and three bathrooms due to the finished basement. Its on a country road. It has 10 flat acres with a large outbuilding for garage and future tack room/storage. There is also a decent size loafing shed for the horses. It would need some fencing. Nice size yard. Front porch. It would need to be painted inside and some of the carpet would need to be replaced. I'd want to replace the dishwasher and stove. But they have left the stove, fridge, microwave and washer and dryer. Most of which we don't need. So we're going to go see it with again with mom tomorrow and have my brother come up as well. I want someone to tell us why this house doesn't have potential. There are lots of things that can be done to make it more modern but not much that would HAVE to be done before moving in (paint and some carpet). One of the negatives is that it will be 40 miles to work each way. And it is out in the country so you don't run up and down the roads on a whim. Seller will also pay closing costs. The guy is supposed to see if they will do a contingency which since its been on the market for four months, they might if we let him sell our house. It felt very peaceful and right while we were there. I could see us living there. I could feel us living there too. But is it too soon to find something? I also have to consider the drive. But we're not liking to find this very much closer to work for this price. What to do? What to do? Pray to start!

Terri my heart & prayers goes out to you. We bought a 34 year old home here in NM 3 years ago. We are still upgrading. We ripped out all the nasty carpet & put down laminate wood flooring. We had to go with that because we have BIG dogs & wood would have gotten messed up.
My husband hates the fact that so many things need work on. I enjoy the house because I don't have to directly deal with neighbors. Nearly had a meltdown in Rio Rancho because of an insane neighbor.
I will say that you should write down the stuff you luv about it and what you don't luv. This is a big move & investment. Moving is one of the major stress along with death & divorce. So lets all pray that you find the perfect property so it is worth the stress!!! You will know if it is right. I am jazzed for you! It sounds like an adventure!
Regarding the Kashi Go Lean. Great cereal but gives me GAS (toot toot). Definitely not a cereal I will eat if I am going out in the evening! Can you see me??? No dog to blame LOL!
Gotta run (not run really LOL) going to bike tomorrow. Yeah!!!!

Lilion - My dad has one of those vacuum sealers and he loved it and used it a lot and now they hardly use it at all for some reason. Mom doesnt buy in bulk like she used to so much because it was just sitting in the freezer getting freezer burnt and pushed to the back the next time she went to the store. But the stuff in the vacuum bags did not freezer burn.

I hope I do lose this weight, I would like to rub it in my smug doctor's face..."So, what are we going to do about your weight?" and then he offers zero assistance, suggestions, anything...just a skinny man smile. Bleah

Okay, in a bit of a funk right now. better stop typing before I bring the house down.

Hi girls! :wave: I feel as if I haven't been here in ages. Well, I haven't, I guess :( other than to send welcome notes to all the newbies and manage threads. By the time I get done with all that I'm too pooped to post. Argh!!!

I was up until 4 AM last night/this morning listing stuff in my new eBay store. Boy, what a chore! My right wrist has been killing me from all of the typing and mouse work.

Tomorrow Honey is going to a home improvement expo across town. Both of the boys are going along so they should have a fun day together. I'm grabbing my friend and we're going to an antique toy show. She's really into that kind of stuff and I've got a few old pieces too. I thought it would be fun. We don't spend nearly enough time together, she works afternoons, so I figured this was something we could do for the afternoon.

I really should stay home and get more stuff listed, write reports and maybe even clean house, but why do that when I can find something else to do. :shrug: :lol:

I know this won't be replies to everyone, I'm sorry about that. One of these days I'll have to just "start from here" fresh again, but tonight's not the night.

Lilion: Congrats on that nice loss a few days ago. GOOD JOB! *I have one of those Seal a Meals and I thought I would love it but the black rubber gasket came off and it really didn't last more than a couple of packages. Now it's taking up space in the closet.

Ruth: Did your mom ever go back with your sister or are you still "entertaining"?

Terri: Good vibes :goodvibes: coming your way for house hunting. You'll know it when you "feel" it and it sounds like you're already doing that. The house next to me has been up for sale since June and vacant since July and is still for sale. The housing market is terrible here. With the new Ford plant closings it's not going to get any better soon. :(

Except this time I just woke up instead of just going to bed. LOL
I was in bed at 9pm last night watching tv. I was reading by 9:30pm and ASLEEP BEFORE 10pm. :yikes: LOL BUT then I was wide awake at 3:30 this morning. :rolleyes:

Liion ....I agree 100% that it is NOT good to stay up as late as I so often do.
And it frustrating waking up so early if I go to bed early.
If my darn bladder would hold more longer I could sleep longer. LOL
I must say though.. my house is sooo clean. :) If anyone wants to see it... you better get here soon because I know it won't last long. LOL
Well everything but my clutter filled bedroom. :shrug:

Terri ... good luck making your decisions on the new house. I remember when we bought the house we are in now.. I cried SEVERAL TIMES stressing over "if it was the right house, right location"??? We knew the price was good for what we got ... but worried if we should buy or not. The worry of "could we find a better choice"???
When my sister bought her new house she cried worrying if she was doing the right thing too. LOL But now.. we are both very happy.
I totally understand about the comute being 40 miles each way.... but I would think to find a place with the room you want for your horses will need to be farther out.


Barbg ... meditation is good for all of us. Meditation is a form of relaxation.
It is like all other good things for us... we must do them continually to reap the benefits longggggg term. When I lost 80 lbs one time I used meditation/relaxation techinques and it definetely helped. But I did not continue with it and thus I lost the benefits I reaped.

Thin... you are such a busy lady. Good luck with your ebay sales.

I know it is hard to do... but it IS DOABLE !!! It requires ACTION on our part... you can do it !!!! :yes:

Wendy ... my son put laminate flooring in his house and they LOVE IT !! Much easier to take care of than real hardwood floors and great for dogs and kids. Their carpet got so stained from the two. LOL

This little guy is such a joy to have home with us. We've waited so long to hold him in our arms and now he is here! I was hoping to find a lot of my old-timer friends here to share with...maybe I can lure them out of hiding with this cute little face!

I will pop in when I can. I'm sort-of on leave until 4/17. I agreed to work 10ish hours a week from home while I am out. That way I have time with my new son and can keep up with some work.

Me again I just read Garnetfairy's post and YOU CAN DO IT! I was furious when I read that your doctor used that tone with you! I have to say my doctor has never brought up my weight and it bothers me. I have mentioned it to my Mom. Mom said that it is probably because my blood pressure is fine etc. I am in the same boat with you. I made an appt to have him look at some moles. My appt is Feb 24th and I would love to be an extra 10lbs lighter. Let's show those doctors that we are new & improved!!!

OMG Barb! I have been waiting for this announcement!! CONGRATULATIONS! Isn't it just awesome being a momma?? LOL Thats the southern in me coming out already!! Momma and daddy they say down here! 2Cute...I've been up since 4:30 this morning! The dog this time! She needed to go out! Then of course the boy wakes up! I did have a nap this afternoon!

Teri good luck with your decision on the house. Only you can decide for sure and you will know if it is the right one! My mom and dad came here last May and planned to stay for 2 weeks but found the house they wanted at the right price and left early to go back to RI and sell theirs! It all worked out for them and 30 days later they moved here!

I have to run to petsmart now and get the dog a new collar. I had her tied out front and the boy was playing with her as I sat on the front porch and he ran across the yard and she took off after him...I looked over to see if she was going to "Hang" herself and she just kept on running right across the side street! Her collar buckle snapped like a twig! SHe isn't use to being on a chain so I thought for sure she would just come to the end of her rope and choke herself! I couldn't believe my eyes when she kept going. She came right back for a piece of cheese...bribery works on the dog too!

They just announced on the news a family that lost their 2 month old son today. The dad fell asleep on the couch with the baby and apparently rolled over onto the baby enough that he died of suffication. It is so sad. The news were saying how many babies die in bed with their parents all the time. I just wanted to alert you to this danger. Don't want anything like that to happen to Carlton.

Okay... no more replies. I am trying to figure out more stuff on the new server. Every time my granddaughters get on my computer to play their Barbie games they mess up my IM. I can't get it to work. I need to find a cheap computer for the grandkids and keep them off mine. LOL

I am feeling a little better. I got good news, my mom got a shirt and a pair of pants at an estate sale for me and they both fit...but get this...the pants are a 22 a long way from a 32 !!! Hurray!!! so maybe even if the scale is not moving so much I am losing inches. They are a little tight but wearable!!! I am so happy about that! The only place they are tight is around my belly and butt ring (where they are on the same level). every place else fits fine especially the waist. Ta Da, good news of the day!

Hello out there to everyone; Hope this finds you all doing wonderfully. I consider myself still to be a newbie. I joined up a couple of months ago, came by a couple of times and then haven't been back until now.

I'm hear to reach out and cry for help. Yes literally. I know we've all said at one point or another, "Ok this time I'm really going to do it", lose weight that is. Well, I can't tell you how many times I've said it, but, and yes this is a big "Butt"....LOL. I may not want to do this, but I am feeling deep down that I have to, because if I don't I may not like where my health is headed. The thing about this is though, (and that's why the :( face and cry for help). I don't have the desire to do this. Maybe it's because I don't know how to get started. I do know that I'm going to go back on the Weight Watchers Point System, that seemed to help before, but the exercise part I'm not sure of. I need SUPPORT; lot's of it. I was thinking of Curves. I know they are for women, but what about just getting started/fat women? Can anyone help me with that question?

Thank you all tons for listening to me. I feel sometimes that if I can just sit here and type and feel that someone is listening to me, I may just be able to do this. So, for all of you, :grouphug:

Thank you Fawnice! Welcome back to the thread! You definitely need to be concerned about your health. A lot of the women I have typed to/with on the 300 + thread and the 100 pounds in 1 year thread go to curves so I would think that you would fit right in. And what if there is no one larger than you there...you arent their to pick up someone, you are there for you and your health which is more important that worrying about being the biggest person at the gym!

You deserve to have better health and a more comfortable body! It obviously bothers you to be your size or you would not be here. If weight watchers works for you, work it...even if you cant go to meetings you can go long enough to get the materials and work it on your own! It is up to you to make the decision about are you worth the effort. I dont know you but I say you ARE worth the effort!!

It is a struggle for all of us, permanent, healthy weight loss never comes easy it takes effort and changes, permanent changes to make a new you! Stop using your body as a garbage can and put in healthy foods instead...give up the "clean the plate club" and get a smaller plate so it looks fuller...when you go out to eat get a to go container and put half your food in it and have it for lunch the next day. If you do it first thing, it is easier to do. If you dont want to be at curves yet, get a couple of exercise videos/dvds and workout at home in front of your TV. Leslie Sansone has Walk Away The Pounds videos and they are available on ebay, half.com, and amazon for reasonable prices. They are walking in place with some other moves that are not too hard for us big women but it works up a sweat and as you get used to one routine you move on to the next one. It comes in 1 mile, 2 mile, 3 mile, and 4 mile tapes. You will be surprised how quickly a mile goes by (20 minutes). And it takes very little space to do her tapes!!!

There are lots of things you can do right in your home if you can motivate yourself to do them until you are comfortable to go to curves or a gym or even to walk in your neighborhood. Get some little dumbells, they start at 2 pounds and you can get them at Walmart cheap. Buy an exercise book and off you go to tone your muscles. Dont try to bite off too much at first, build up gradually so that you get used to working out and it becomes part of your weekly activities. I work out every other day usually. Sometimes at the gym and sometimes with the tapes. Plus I use the dumbells whenever I want to work my arms more. usually on my off days from the gym.

Well, I am writing a book here. Anyway I know you can do it; but, you have to know you can do it.

If I can do it, I figure anyone can! I am going all the way this time instead of stopping after losing 20 pounds or so...I am on a quest! I do not want to be diabetic and I do want to be around to be a grandma when my son and his wife decide to have a baby...I want to be here for my son...and I want my quality of life to improve....All of these things can be mine for just a little work and change...they can be yours too...decide that you are worth it! Because you ARE!!!

Fawnice, I have fell off the wagon so many times I have permanant bruises on my backside! I keep coming here in spite of my poor performance. It really does help me to get myself up and try again. I think most of us here have failed to stay op at one time or another, some of us more than others:o That would be me! I never want to drag anyone down with my lack of control, but I need this group! Right now I am doing well, but I can never be sure of today or the next minute. I am a binge eater and have been for as long as I can remember. I managed to lose over 100 lbs on WW years ago and gained it back plus some. I lost 90 odd lbs in the 80s and have gained that back plus! UGHHH! I assure you I didn't set out to do that! I hope that I can lose and keep it off this time. Join me in the quest for a smaller body and better health.:)

2cute, boy can I relate to the computer and grandkids! Every time mine visit they put a bunch of stuff on my desktop that I don't know how to get rid of.:lol: They have changed my settings etc. I have thought about forbidding them using it, but then I would have them running wild through the house. LOL! Better to let them play their games!

Garnetfairy, I like your positive attitude toward losing weight. A positive attitude is a big step toward achieving your goal. AND, you will if you keep that mind set. (wish I could )

Some days I would sell mine in a heartbeat. The thing that stops me is the thoughts of moving all of this stuff!:dizzy: That and the fact that we live in a nice quiet neighborhood.

wendyinnm, When you get your kitchen whipped into shape wanna come do mine? LOL! I need to replace shelving paper and the thoughts of trying to get down on the floor for the lower ones boggles my mind. OUchie on the knees!

I need to get my book out again. :) Yes, I am going to find my Sweating To The Oldies tape; it really jazzes me up, but you do need some room to do it, so I'll have to do it in place for awhile.

Ruth: I can certainly understand about your sister. I hope she feels better soon. I'm an only child so it was just mom and I looking after dad. When it's mom's turn, I'll be on my own. That's good AND bad. At least I won't have to disagree with anyone but myself on her care. ;)

Fawnice: I'm from a crazy way of thinking so take this whatever way you think it deserves. :lol: When I'm so totally OP for awhile and feel like I just can't get back up again, I try to focus on one thing at a time. There would be no way that I could manage journalling, counting points, exercising, getting all the water in and getting all the fruits and veggies in all in one fatal swoop. So I try and concentrate one one thing one week, counting points. Then on week two I'll add actually journalling it all. Then week three doing the first two and adding all the water. Then week four doing it all and adding all the fruits and veggies. It just seems less overwhelming to me. Now some might say that's crazy, but at least it eventually gets the job done instead of trying to do it all from the get go and deciding after just a couple of days to quit again. :shrug: Like I said, I have a weird thought process, so just take this for whatever it's worth to you. [[[HUGS]]] Nice to see you back BTW.

Thought I'd try to sneak in one here before someone else starts a new thread! I've been lurking instead of posting all weekend...forgive me. :^: Just haven't felt like saying anything!

BarbPA - Congratulations to you!!! What an absolutely beautiful baby boy! There's nothing at all like a baby boy. What a wonderful journey you have before you!

Wendy and Garnetfairy: My primary doctor only told me I should lose wieght one time...and it was three months before my wedding and I told him I couldn't afford to have the dress altered again, so it would have to wait! My cardiologist, who I got after I was hospitalized with BP of 210/135 and a heart arrythmia so severe they insisted I be on a moniter 24 hours a day, I asked him if I should lose weight (I was 314) and he said, "Shouldn't we all?" NEVER trust a fat cardiologist to be blunt with you about weight. By the same token, I had a OBGYN nurse practitioner say to me, "You've gained 106 lbs in the years you've been coming here. You won't be a patient of ours much longer if you don't lose weight, because you'll be dead." WOW! I didn't listen to her either. Anyway, I think doctor's fall into two groups. Those who figure you are smart enough to know you are fat and that if you don't ask for help you won't accept it and those who think it's their job to shock you into feeling bad about yourself.

Oh, and Garnetfairy, Great NSV getting into those 22's! :D

Faunice: It is good to see you back. I don't know what to say but that we are here for you, to support you and listen to you and to cheer you on if that's what you need! You sound, however, like you want to lose weight, you just don't want to work at it... And you have to want to do this to do it! I totally understand where you are coming from. I spent YEARS not particularly wanting to do anything about my weight. When I was put on BP pills, I knew I needed to lose weight. When I was hospitalized, like I said before, I knew needed to lose weight. When I couldn't walk to my car without feeling like someone was sitting on my chest (from my heart arrythmia + fat), I knew I needed to lose weight. But that didn't stop me from ignoring that need. I still ate Sonic 750 calorie burritos for dinner and ice cream every night. Until one day, I stopped. One day it all hit home and I and my DH just said, we have to do this, and we started doing it. I believe attitude is key. I know you want to lose weight, I know you aren't ignoring the need, or you wouldn't be here. So repeat after me..."I CAN DO THIS." Now, I like Thin's and Garnetfairy's suggestions...start small, and build. We're here to help!:hug:

Hi girls! I am feeling kinda blue today. I liked what the scale said but my hormones must be out of wack. I will get on the treadmill and take some extra B-complex.
Thinthinker- no not my house but most homes look like that here. My neighbors house does. Adobes (that style of home) are sometimes small. We have 3 large dogs & 2 kids. Our kids will be nearly all grown up in 5 years. That is when we will sell this home and buy a smaller one more than likely an adobe.
Sorry I am going on & on about nothing.
I wanted to tell all of you Thank You. I really feel very connected to you girls.

My good news is, I went to the gym today to work out did almost an hour and a half...but I couldnt wait until Tuesday for my weigh in since I was there I had to get on the scales and .....I lost 3 more pounds...Tra La

I just finished WATP for 1.5 miles tonight...wow, are my legs tired!

Wendyinnm - How wonderful to live in adobe, I bet it really keeps the temperatures steady with little help. Ive always loved adobe but it would probably melt here in TX with our humidity, rain, and heat.
I hope you get over your blues. I have been down too the past 3 days but am feeling a bit better now.
