Ok, guys, just to liven stuff up here a bit, I thought I would post a silly little quiz.

Picture this: You have before you a plate of muffins. You want to select the one that would be wisest given your preclusion to weightloss and a healthy lifestyle. Which one would you choose?

Chocolate Chip, plain
Carrot whole wheat
Blueberry bran
Fruit explosion
low fat blueberry

Please vote in the poll above.

I'll come back later in the week and let you know the REAL answer and the nutrition facts on all of these.

P.S. I didn't vote because I know the answer.

Well I am choosing the choc chip one because I am guessing that although it sounds fattening, it probably isn't as bad as the ones that sound healthier. It will be interesting to find out if I am right lol.

Hugs,

Ammi: Do you think it's a trick question? Bwah ha ha!

You're the only brave one out there. 18 people have looked at this poll but you're the only one brave enough to vote.

Come on, girls, this could be eye opening!

I think it's a trick question too but I picked blueberry bran. If I were in that situation that is the one I would assume is the healthiest.

OK - I admit I definitely think it's a trick question and I ALMOST went and looked them up, but since I'm Not The Cheat I couldn't do that. I chose the blueberry bran, partially because I don't like chocolate muffins (if I am eating chocolate, it is not going to be in a muffin) but also because the bran does sound healthy. I will not be surprised to find out I'm wrong, but it is OK to be wrong once and awhile.

I'm new to the website but I like to just jump in...so I am thinking it is the blueberry bran. If nothing else the bran would be high in fiber right? We shall see what the answer is.

I picked blueberry bran because I don't like blueberries and bran sounds healthier.

Well, if this was a popularity contest, Blueberry Bran would be the hands down winner because most of you are picking the same one.

Now I'm not saying you're not right, you'll just have to wait and see.

If you haven't found it already, you can keep track of the Poll Results (who voted how) by clicking on the little button in the bottom right corner of the Poll.

I vote for WHOLE GRAIN.
I won't be surprised if they are all basically the same.

Okay, I'm going for blueberry for the cancer fighting antioxidants and the bran for the healthy fiber. Carrot whole wheat would also have antioxidants but I think blueberries trump carrots in that regard. I do love carrot cake though.

Can we ask how we're defining a "healthier" muffin?

I guess I'm not going to define "healthier", if that makes any sense. What I will do is post all the nutrition stats in a couple of days (after everyone has had a chance) and then each individual can decide what is "healthier" for them. The nutrition stats I have include calories, fat, chol, sodium, carbs, fiber, protein, and several vitamin. I'll calculate the WW points of each of the choices and then you can each decide for yourself and your plan which you think is the better choice.

I follow WW so my points value is what's important to me, however, since I'm a little diabetic, the carbs and sugar are important too. So as you can see, each individual would probably think one or the other of the "stats" are most important. What I found interesting was the muffin I thought fit me best, really didn't. I quizzed Honey and he was surprised too.

That's the only hints I'll give......but again, what my "healthy" is and what yours is for your program may be different so keep voting.

So far there are 17 votes and Blueberry Bran is still in the lead.

Terri .. you are right... I know they say blueberries are at the TOP of the "good fruit" list. Oprah eats blueberries daily.
But carrots are vegetables not fruit. LOL BUT .. carrot is also high in sugar I think ??? A higher carb content than green veggies.
Is Bran better than 100% whole grain ????

The mystery contiues.....

Thin-- thanks for the explanation, it is actually what I thought you were getting at.

I wish I could SEE the fruit explosion muffin, cause I might love it or hate it. At this point, were I offered a choice of muffins, I probably wouldn't choose any, since I have learned that they are all high in calories it seems! But, if pressed, I would probably pick the low fat blueberry, because I'm counting calories and while low fat is not always low cal, fat does have a lot of calories. So, I'd pick lf blueberry.

I guess I would go for the low fat blueberry muffin as well. I also count calories and try to watch my fat intake too. Can't wait to see the nutritional info.
