Kayley -- I know how you feel, we all want to lose weight quickly. But do you want to be healthy, too? Unfortunately, making choices to get it off quickly often backfire (as we feel restricted, can't keep up with the plan and just give up). Ultimately, making healthy choices consistently seems to be the way to KEEP the weight off. From what I hear, South Beach can be a good plan, but you might want to think about moving to Phase 2. And think about whether the plan is something you can do for life. Again, to be successful, you are better off thinking of this as a lifestyle change, not a diet.

Hi there Everyone!!

I don't have alot of time. I have made hubby work like crazy since he opened his eyes yesterday so he will boot me off the computer VERY soon *L* We stripped the wallpaper off our family room yesterday and then spent new years eve painting. Today we have been assembling a new entertainment center and the like. He will be ready to sit and relax very soon :)

Catherine ~ I too chuckled when I read your post. Hubby asked what was funny. He wants you to know that he watched a lot of Star Trek and there are some really HOT Klingons :) I sold wedding gowns for a bit before I was married and I LOVE that style gown. You will be SO beautiful!!!

Kayley ~ I tried many times to lose weight and Wyellnn is right. The only way this will work is if you make the lifestyle change that you can live with.

OK I am being hoisted. Back to eating healthy and exercise again. New year and new body!! Let's do it girls!!!!!!

Happy New Years to all!!!!

Hi everyone, I thought I would sneak one more post one here. I am back and I am ready for round 2. I had some issues to deal with and I suppose that I am sorted out enough to get my weight loss back on track.

I will weigh tomorrow morning and think about some easy goals to set for this month...I had gotten down to 280 but slid back to about 290-295...bad Jen :)

Anyways, I hope everyone had a great X-mas and New Years and look forward to talking to everyone again!!!!

Kayley--When I did South Beach (almost 2 years ago), I stayed on Phase 1 for well over 2 weeks as well. I had decided to just stick with Phase 1 for as long as I could and then sort of ween myself into Phase 2. I ended up giving up on SB all together because, while I lost maybe 20 pounds, I plateaued for WEEKS after that, and I decided it wasn't worth restricting myself so much without getting the results I wanted. Unfortunately, not all plans work well for all people since our bodies are all so different. I have heard that if you are not a "carb addict" to begin with, then low-carb diets don't work as well, and I think that may have been the case for me. Just don't get too fed up--you've already come quite a ways, and if this plan isn't giving you the results you wanted, then maybe another plan (I'm always a calorie-counting advocate ;)) will be more appropriate for you :^:

Happy New Year

Hello Friends,

Well it's January first and although it's a new year I am not back on track with my diet. I will officially start back on it next Monday. Until then I will try to at least check in here to keep up with everybody's news. It will be so much easier when both girls are back in school.

Did everybody have a good New Years Eve, what about hang overs today? I had a fun night, and although I got tipsy I was quite well this morning thank goodness.

My new years resolutions are to cut the yo yo strings of this diet by losing weight and keeping it off, to exercise more, and to try to stress out less over the kids. Not a lot to ask of myself, and I am sure I will do it. Not looking forward to my first weigh in to restart my diet, but I have to face seeing what damage I have done with all my pigging out!!

Well take care all and I hope 2006 will be wonderful for all of us,

Hugs,

Ammi

Jill – Thanks for the tip about Fitday. I have been using Firefox and it didn’t seem to work from there, but I got it to print in MS Explorer. I will also see if I can get it into Excel. I tried and the boxed were importing strangely. What I would love to do is create a template where I can paste in my foods, exercise and any journal comments and have one page per day. That would be very cool. If not, I can probably live though. The important thing is that I am doing it.

Well, I am off to exercise. We drove home today (I just LOVE 5 hours in the car:) ) and I hadn’t gotten a chance yet. But I definitely want to start this New Year off right!

Happy New Year everyone!
