300 + And Ready to Try Again.....#772
WELCOME !!!
We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs. We want to invite everyone to join us in our journey. We share laughter and tears. We share what works for us and what doesn't. We often use a "Topic of the Day" for discussion. Motivational Monday Tuesday Tips Wednesday Wish List .. and What you are doing to obtain it. Thankful Thursday FUN Friday ... don't wait until you lose your weight. Sit-up Saturdays - any physical activity Share your Success Sunday These are not required topics ...just ideas to share. We often find them very helpful. We also share heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations. We have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, and more. Please feel free to check them all out. We have found this thread to be more than just a support group... we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us. WELCOME! I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out. If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for Amazon on any page in the forum, or by clicking on the button on the main 3FC page at www.3fatchicks.com . A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site. Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker. There have been some concerns expressed by the powers that be about copyright infringement. So please, if you are directly quoting someone else or printing an article in whole or in part, please give credit where credit is due!!!! __________________ |
Happy day today! Weighed in this morning and lost 2.2 lbs. The chinese food over the weekend did not create any big problems, Yeah!
So I am on track and I feel really happy, the sun is shining:flow2: and I am doing well. :strong: |
Hi gals....
Halloween candy is EVIL....I bought some to share with my office, but I just keep eating it myself!!! I MUST give the leftovers away!!! |
Hi there every one! I see we have had a pretty busy day on here. Thats great!
So far, my day has been really active. I entered my time shopping on FitDay and WOW! Shopping burns alot of calories! It didn't help that I shopped the malls for 2.5 hrs  I am trying to do some more of my christmas shopping before I go back to work. I also went 1.5 miles on the track today. Then it started raining again! It seems like it has been raining for weeks now! I am not going to let it stop me anymore though. I went and bought I bright yellow rain poncho today and I even got one for BaileyBeagle! Won't we be a sight! I just hope it doesn't make me look too much like Big Bird from Sesame Street  I so far did 20 min on my bike and I am going to get ready for AquaFit soon. I would really like to stay home tonight. My knees are starting to get sore from all the activity, but onward we shall march! I will just have to ice them when I get home. SueMarie ~ I bounce my calories around too. The book that I am reading suggests it in order to stay out of famine mode. My old roomate gained 85lbs when she was on Depo, then ended up getting pregnant anyways :o Its been 4 years and she is still trying to lose it. Well looking at the time, I must run. The pool awaits! Hope you all had great days and made great choices. Brenda :dancer: |
Hello Ladies!
Just an Old Hen dropping by to say "Hi!" I've not posted here much, but do keep tabs on you all and lurk about reading all your posts. I don't know hardly any of you any more it seems though. What a big, active group - and you are all doing so well! A big :bravo: to those of you showing losses this week! Keep up the good work! Julee: Wow! 75 lbs gone! Very impressive! You are sure setting a good examples for the new folks! I've been stuck in the 260's so long now that I had a major melt down and took a diet break last weekend. Ate whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. Now next Friday we'll see if any damage was done. Sue: Hang in there. Hope the BC pills don't do anything "bad" to the weight. They never bothered me...but then again I had to stop depo because instead of stopping my periods, I just had one all the time. (The record was 7 weeks without a break! :yikes: ) With Halloween around the corner, thought I'd let you all know my trick for getting through the holiday candyfest. It's simple: I only buy candy I don't really like. I'm a chocolate fiend - I can't be around it without eating it - so I buy Jolly Ranchers, which I dislike, nerds, sour skittles and those nasty peanut-butter things in the orange and black wrappers :barf: . I get enough candy snitching out of my kids bag...don't need it around the house before the 31st too! |
Vicki -- Congrats on being under 300!!! :bravo: :cheer: I know that must be a wonderful feeling and I can't wait until I get there myself. Way to Go!!!
Sheri -- Great job on losing 2.2 pounds. :cheer: That is soooo awesome. Keep up the great work....Hey everyone has to splurge on some Chinese. Jeanette -- What kind of yummy Halloween candy are you eating?? Give the rest away.....it is evil. |
Ammi -- I hope you are feeling okay and your doctor's appointment went okay. Hang in there!!
|
Hi Ladies!
How are you all doing today? Weighed in at LAWL and stayed the same - :( I'm not too upset though because I know I can't lose every single time I go in. This was the first time I didn't have a loss, so it was disappointing, but I'll be hanging in for the long haul!! Ammi: Are you feeling any better? I know around here our allergies are awful. I suppose you are going into spring as we are going into fall? Someone on another list made the siggy for me - I'm just not too talented with computer stuff! LAWL stands for LA Weight Loss and is similar to WW, but without so many choices. You mainly stick with proteins, starch, fruits, veggies and dairy and everything is a certain portion. Nothing is unlimited amounts - it works well for me because I found too many ways to cheat on WW and absolutely can't diet on my own for anything! WYLLENN: Hamlet and Othello are so cute! Our other 2 fur babies are mutts and one is 65-70 pounds - she thinks she is Taz's (the pug) mommy and licks her ears all the time! The problem is she gets them sore sometimes! :o CONGRATS on everyone's great losses! WE CAN DO THIS!!! :cheer: |
Going to Lose 200 – OOH! Yeah I can relate with your friend. I gained about 70-80lbs on depo as well… supersucked! Mind if I ask what book it is you read? Could always use a little more inspiration :)
Lilion - :yikes: 7 weeks holy cow! Have not experienced that, but man I have cramps from HECK! I was on bc a while ago, before I went on depo… I don’t remember if I had any weight gain with them. I had to go onto depo because I kept forgetting to take the pill. I was going to school full time and worked graveyard at the casino.. ICKY! Mom2fivesweeties – good for you for staying positive! It’s cold out here today. We’ve had the last two days. A little bit of flooding in the backyard and the neighbors tree snapped and a huge branch fell over onto ourside. I’m so glad it didn’t take out the brick wall and even more glad that it didn’t fall on the house! It landedabout 5 feet from the back of the house, which is our bedroom heheh. Gonna send James over to talk to the neighbor about it. Well ladies... I got a 92% on my midterm for my cultures class. I'm happy with that :) class was cancelled so I'm at home now an I'm going to get dinner started. I have two questions for everyone.... 1) how do you get that stale air smell out of your house?? It's driving me nuts! I air the house out, clean out my ionic breeze, and yet it still seems to go back to a stale smell after a while. I have pets, but it's not like a pet smell... I dunno how to explain it... 2) My next question is... I was looking at walmarts website because I have been wanting to get a digital scale and body fat analyzer for a while now. i've run into a dilemma. I found a digital scale that goes up to 380lbs for 54 bucks and a separate hand held body fat analyzer for 22 bucks. Then I found another scale that is both digital and body fat analyzer all in one. The dilemma is.... it only weighs up to 350lbs. I currently weigh 355lbs. What would you all do? I'm scare at the rate that I'm going that I'll never get below 350... and I know that's not thinking positive... but at the rate I been going... I just dunno what to think... Thanks ladies! Sue... |
Sue -- As far as a stale smell in your home. I use febreeze air freshener and Lysol green apple air freshener. I love Yankee Candles....those always make my house smell good.
I think you should go for the scale that only goes up to 350 pounds....girl you know you are only 7 pounds away from being able to use it. You can do it. Use that as a goal.....get the scale. You know this past week was that time of the month (TOM) and it's finally over with. I can't believe I didn't give in to any cravings....if I wanted something sweet I ate sugar free jello pudding and that served the purpose. It's been 4 weeks yesterday since I started my new healthy lifestyle and I haven't given in once....I am so proud of myself....I actually thought that maybe it is time to have a cheat day but I am to the point now where I don't want one. Losing weight feels too good to cheat. Now I know I will cheat sometimes here and there but not anytime soon....maybe Thanksgiving. Noting feels better than to notice a weight loss or some clothes fitting better or just having more energy and feeling good about yourself. Keep it up girls!!! |
I started my day at PT -- wowsa do they stretch my back and hip. It feels great when I leave, but sometimes sore at the end of the day. Last week the therapist did something that really helped my coccyx -- yay! I can lie down again!
SueMarie -- I'm a psych prof at a college -- not the "couch" kind! I teach intro, research design, cognitive, and my "areas" -- social and cultural psych! Teaching is as much work as being a student, but with a LOT more control!! What will you be teaching (grade) As for calorie counting, I bounce around too. I try to average 2000/day and have been quite successful. I feel like I have tons of flexibility this way... as long as my average is okay. Vicki -- Yay you for getting under 300 pounds! Great milestone! I love to hear that this (whatever this is we're doing) works!! Congrats to all the other "losers" too! Brenda -- I've tried logging in shopping and other activities (like painting) in nutridiary before (which seems to use the same system as fitday), and I am suspicious of their numbers. It seems that 1/2 hour shopping burns the same calories as walking 2 mph for 30 min... and I think when I shop I stop more than when I walk! Lori -- I was so sure other dog owners experienced the "ear lick" (hey! There's no smilie for that!)... I find it annoying, but so far so good on Othello's ears! |
Lilion...how on earth are you?? I have missed you and your posting...stick with it..you did so well for so long...you can surely pick it up again when you feel ready!!!
Ah the BC discussion. I have had problems with my (chemicaly unregulated) periods since the day I first got them when I was 12. I went on BCP at 17 and never looked back. I was diagnosed with HBP not that long ago and sicne going on WW my BP is now back in control..but I am also on meds for it. Estrogen can very often raise your BP and can also make weight loss a little bit of a challenge. At my last Dr's appt. she decided that she wanted me off of estrogen altogether and wanted me to see an OB?GYN about getting an IUD. I was a littel freaked. Fortunately he disagreed with her recommendation for a myraid of reasons and thinks I am good to stay on the BCP since my diet and BP are now in control and since an IUD will probably bring bakc my bad periods. "Sometimes it's hard to be a woman..." It's another Jewish holiday...which means more lunches and dinners at people's houses with no say-so in the menu. Today I decided to just let it ride and see what I could do on my own. So at the house where I ate, I had about a teaspoon of tunafish (whichI don't like anyways but wanted a spot of protein), a small slice of spinace quiche with the crust removed, a little but of hummus and some salad and fruit. Maybe it was the bag of apple slices I had ebfore I went, but I was actually totally satisfied off of what I ate. By evening I was a little punchy for not having my afternoin snack, but I was really pleased that I was able to eat in control and that I didn't make myself mental about it. Tomorrow is WI and what will be will be. I am PMS this week...so I'll just go in and suck it up. Dinner was from Whole Foods...broccoli with roasted garlic, a yummmmmy lentil and mushroom tagine (kind of a soup...nice and spicy), 2 slices of turkey breast and a WW cake. I think what I love the most is feeling so in control. I feel "fluent" enough in Core and low point foods to be able to make smart choices and not have to resort to junk and processed foods and I just feel really empowered. Tomorrow is lunch again at someone's house..but I think it will be cold cuts...which means I can get a bunch of lettuce and turkey and have a sort of salad. OOh and I discovered the yummiest treat. There is a company called "Just Tomatoes" that makes freeze dried fruits and vegetables. There are no other ingredients in them, so they are core. I have been using them in my yogurt and oatmeal in the mornings. I had tried the peaches and strawberries and now I have bought the bananas...oh wow! These are different from dried fruits because there is nothing else in them and no extra sweetneners. Yay for snacks! I am lucky that I do not have to deal with Halloween. No kids come to my apartment and I probably won't be home anyways. I used to have some candy in the house but I dumped it after it had been sitting in a candy jar in the fridge forever and had gotten a little icky. So unless a kid wants carrots..they should stay away. Have a good night...hopefully it won't rain AGAIN tomorrow. The weather has gotten so cold so fast and it's been wet and dismal. I love when it cools off..just not the process of getting there. |
WYLLENN: Here's a pic of Taz (my pugger) and Frosty (her pseudo mommy) - They are SO cute together! :)
|
Andrea – Yeah, I think I’m going to do that…it’s a motivation. I sat here watching the biggest looser… and I was getting a little depressed. It’s so amazing what these people are doing.. they have more will power than me! I decided during a commercial break that I am going to get that scale as motivation! It will be a good thing for me. Good for you for not giving into your cravings!
Wyllenn – I’m looking at maybe 6th grade or higher… My first concentration was in Human Development. Which required me to take a lot of psych classes. I love Psychology! Julee – congrats on getting that BP down!! Mom2fivesweeties – I LOVE IT!!! Adorable puppies you got there! Okie ladies.. I’m gonna do it… I’m buying that scale! Talk about motivation… 60 bucks of motivation  I’m off to finish up my calculus homework… ooh and to order a scale :) Take care everyone! Sue… |
Hi Sue!
Thanks! Your pup is cute too! What kind is it and what is his/her name? Wow! Calculus! I graduated from college back in the 70's and I didn't have to do that one! Got a degree in elementary/special ed - I suppose the elem. kids MAY start doing Calculus one of these days! WYLLENN: Where do you teach? I loved psych in college - with 5 kids, everyday is a new chance to use it!! |
mom2five - her name is Heidi. She's a teacup Chihuahua. Itty bitty thing! I call her Monster  or Heidi Monster (like Cookie Monster)... Yeah, I don't think I plan on teaching calculus... I can't even teach myself!!! It's frustrating! I work for RSP at a middle school. I may consider getting my special ed credential later on after my multiple subjects. I wanna get my single subject credential as well... ahhh decisions decisions... I wanted to get my credentials in special education origianlly. I used to volunteer at the school for the deaf and I fell in love with the culture and language. I took 3 years of ASL (American Sign Language)... still debating on it ;)
Sue... P.S. BTW the scale has been ordered and it will be here next week sometime :) |
Lori -- What precious babies!! How adorable!! How old are they and have they always gotten along? In our house, Hamlet (Hammie) is the baby at 6 months. Othello, at 5 years, tolerates him and his constant attempts at play. I think they will be fine when Hammie calms down.
Five kids -- I bet you are using some psychology! I think some of the most useful things I've learned are in the area of learning and conditioning... how you can train people/kids/dogs to do things... That and persuasion techniques. Course, I also know how I'm screwing up when I teach them too! SueMarie -- Monster is an adorable name for your sweetie! |
I thought I'd better check in while I had a minute. He finally got down on his one good knee to propose. I told him he had to do it proper like, or I'd make him call my brother for formal permission to ask for my hand. We've been having a wonderful visit. We had our first appointment with the priest yesterday afternoon. He grilled me for over an hour. I guess he wanted to make sure I wasn't some kind of femme fatale. I got up the courage to tell Austin how much I have lost. He was shocked and impressed. He has made sure I can stay OP while here. I've been cooking all our meals at the chaperone's house, except for an occasional breakfast of oatmeal at the diner across the street. We also had Canadian Thanksgiving a week ago Monday, and went to a dinner at a Ukrainian restaurant.
I've certainly gotten my exercise. He doesn't own a car. We walk about a block and a half to the grocery store everyday for the day's menu. It is about 6 blocks to the train. We also went all over the world's largest mall here. He lives a block from the church, and from the chaperone. I haven't walked this much since before my back injury. I leave Sunday at midnight, and when I get back home I will be able to post regular again. My only concern is that my blood pressure has been up while I have been here. I changed from an ACE inhibitor to a calcium channel blocker about a month ago because we want to try to have a child, and ACE inhibitors are fetal toxic. We know that at my age conception is rare, but I wanted to be responsible. It could be the altitude change (up 2200 feet), or just that I haven't gotten the dosage of the new med right yet. I just hope my home is still there when I get back to Florida. They are forcasting Hurricane Wilma to hit this weekend. We are going to buy engagement rings today. He is going along with my family's custom of silver bands for man and woman for the engagement. Of course what man is going to turn down the idea of a $30 silver band instead of a $3000 solitaire. Got to go, thanks to everyone for their prayers and best wishes. I'm living the dream that I thought I'd have to wait until I was skinny to have. |
Congratulations on the engagement Catherine. That is wonderful....We are all so happy for you. Sounds like things are going great!! :)
|
Catherine~~I'm so excited for you! :cb: :cp:  :cheer: Thanks for posting and sharing the news. :) We've all been thinking about you and I, for one, am so glad that everything is working out so wonderfully. ((((HUGS)))) CONGRATULATIONS!
|
CATHERINE:
Many CONGRATS!! You GO GIRL!! Live your dream! You deserve ALL of it and more!! :hat: :flow1:  |
Big Congrats Catherine..... it's wonderful news! :) love from the UK!
I kinda lost the plot with all this diet stuff over the past 8 weeks or so having not weighed myself for some time! I am pleased to say I started to take some anti-depressants only a week ago, and I feel they are making a difference already! :) I really want to get myself back on track and will get myself weighed tomorrow, so I can update my signature! I'll be back in the gym by the end of the week! |
Good Morning everyone! Hope you all are doing well today! Finally a bright and sunny day here for me. Steven is off work for a few days so I have a walking partner. Now if only he would get out of bed!
Catherine ~ My congrats to you and your fiance! I wish you both all the happiness! I love all the beautiful fur-baby pics! I decided to add one of mine! Her name is Bailey(Beagle) and she is totally enjoying Mom's new walking routine! She looks so well behaved in this pic. Little does one know that she destroyed 3 pumpkins in the patch that day. She thought they were big orange balls  Those pictures are for a scrapbook page indeed! SueMarie ~ The book is Winning by Losing by Jillian Michaels. So far, so good!! Well, I am off to boot hubby out of bed. We are turning our spare room into a mini gym and today is the day to get rid of some junk! Brenda  |
Whoa whoa whoa...I have missed SO much in only less than a week! Catherine--congratulations! I remember having a discussion on this board a few months back about how a woman knows if her man is "the one," and the overwhelming response was, "you just know." I'm so glad you KNOW! ;)
I have been super tired all week. The move went well--everything is in our new place, and no one got injured! Our cable, phone, and internet are all finally up and running, and we just went grocery shopping last night for the first time ($100 for just the two of us :o ). Needless to say, I have been eating lots of unhealthy foods since we haven't been cooking at home. Since we went shopping last night, though, today has been much better, so I am getting right back on track :) |
Jill -- Glad to know that the move went well.
|
Hi all!
Congrats to Catherine on her engagement, and to Jilly on her move! I got the good news from my doctor today that my test results came back NORMAL--no cancer cells! YAY!! I also went to a heath fair this weekend. I had my blood drawn for a cholesterol and blood sugar eval, as well as having my blood pressure checked. (Since I have been in and out of the doc's office alot in the last month, I knew what my BP was.) I think they were astonished that a woman as fat as me could have perfect blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar! At the final evaluation, the nurse all but said: "You're healthy, but fat!" Just wait--no stopping me now!! |
Afternoon Ladies!
HippievanLady – CONGRATS!!!! I’m so happy for you! James did the same thing, when we went to go see the priest, we found out he had to have communion. I am good to go, all the way up to confirmation, unfortunately, he didn’t have his communion so now he is being asked to read a book and take a few classes. CONGRATS!!! *big hugz* Going to Lose 200 – Hmmm that name sounds familiar, either way I know I haven’t read the book… maybe I’ll look into it on amazon and see what prices I can come up with and make a purchse :) Thanks for the info! Jillian – welcome back! Glad to see things went well for you with the move… now on to the unpacking!! ;) Jen415 – Oh what good news from the doctor! Congrats! You know… I had the same thing done with the nurse practitioner at Cal State (Student Health Center)… I kept telling the lady I was loosing weight. If she would only look back in my records to see that the numbers were dropping… she said it wasn ‘t good enough… (what a snot!) so she ordered a complete panel as she called it. Which tested everything, liver, kidneys, cholesterol, sugar… you name it, it was tested…. She was astonished that everything on my was either within range or lower than normal. So she had to find something to yell at me for. My good cholesterol was low, so she said you gotta eat better foods and stop eating to much fatty foods…. She swore up and down that I was diabetic or on the verge of it and that my BP was more than likely high and same with my cholesterol. I just sat there and smiled… and I too got the same answer as you did… you are in good health, but you’re fat. Then she laid into how whatever I am doing is not good enough and I gotta try harder. I sat there, nodded, and said ok and left. Then I ran a few four letter words through my mind… but we won’t go there LOL! The doctors there are so much nicer… I cringe every time they tell me I need to see her. I can’t wait for the weekend… well wait… actually I can. I have a paper that I need to work on, but at least I don’t have to go to work or sit in a boring lecture class. I hope everyone is doing well… That scale I ordered should be in next week… I’m looking forward to it. I’m working on dropping those 6-7lbs so that I can fall within it’s capacity range (350lbs)… even still… that also means I’ve broken into virgin fat territory. WHOOHOO! Let’s pray stress doesn’t mess it up! Take care everyone! Sue... |
SueMarie: sometimes it's hard for health officials to believe that someone fat could have good test numbers like us. But....I know that even if my numbers are good right now, chances are they won't stay that way as long as I am fat. Soo....off it goes!!
|
Lilion ~I am fairly new around here but I think that I remember reading a weigh in update from you in the sticky thread on it. I have started posting my progress there. It is nice to see you here posting as well.
Sheri_C~Congrats on the latest lose. I love Chinese food and fear that it will be my downfall! lol SueMarie~You are so close to the weight for the scale. You will be below that in no time. Use the scale as motivation! I know that you can do it! Andrea~It is amazing that you didn't give in and cheat even though it was that TOM. You have such a great additude about it all. I aspire to have the same kind of additude about this journey as you have. :) Everyone that posted pictures of your puppies~they are so cute! It makes me miss my puppy. :( I need to be doing laundry but who has time for that when there is so much to get caught up with in here? lol |
Lasses,
Mostly I lurk and don't post, but I wanted to pop in and congratulate Catherine on her engagement. It's wonderful to hear that you are doing so well, enjoying your visit, and that you are able to continue living your healthy lifestyle. I know you don't know me from Adam, but you've given so many folks here such good advice and such great encouragement that it is just a delight to see you so happy and doing so well. I'm so impressed by everything you've achieved, and not just in terms of the weight you've lost. And and... SueMarie: Andrea – Yeah, I think I’m going to do that…it’s a motivation. I sat here watching the biggest looser… and I was getting a little depressed. It’s so amazing what these people are doing.. they have more will power than me! I decided during a commercial break that I am going to get that scale as motivation! It will be a good thing for me. Good for you for not giving into your cravings! Please don't be depressed by comparing yourself to the folks on the Biggest Loser. Remember, despite their made-for-tv temptations, EVERYTHING about their environment is controlled for maximum possible weightloss. They don't have anything to do except lose weight, and under those circumstances - with nutritionists and trainers and gyms and prepared meals and every sort of exercise equipment imaginable. NO ONE could achieve what they've been able to achieve outside of such a controlled environment. Please don't be depressed! |
I have been doing so well fighting temptation lately but I am dying for a big fat burger and fries from Wendy's.....of course I am not gonna have one. I will just stick to the terryaki chicken I was gonna make for dinner tonight. Have any of you all been having bad cravings lately?? We can stay strong and not give in.
Ammi -- You haven't posted today and usually you do....I hope everything is okay. :) |
Oh my goodness, taking time out from the PC has made me fall behind in just one day. So time to catch up. But first I have to admit I had a day off the diet today. I think this has been coming since I had my weigh in. OH I didn't pig out like I would have done before. I just didn't count points, and I had a cheese and coleslaw baguette, followed by chocolate cake for lunch when I was out, and for tea I had some lamb with vegetables. It's the lamb I didn't count the points for. Then for supper I did treat myself to a bar of white chocolate, just a small one. I felt no guilt, it just felt nice to have a break, and I am sure I am going to be right back on track tomorrow.
Ok now to get onto the posts. First of all - Andrea - thank you so much for asking about me, it meant a lot that you remembered I had a doctors appointment. I didn't end up going to the docs, I slept in and only just made it to my counselor's appt on time lol. I am glad to say though that it isn't tonsilitis that I had, just a stupid cold which for some reason gave me a sore throat but only on one side. Very strange. My therapy session went well AND I found out that my therapist does Reiki and doesn't charge for it. She is dealing with two people at the moment, but when she has a free space she will start doing Reiki for me. I have heard great things about it, so am looking forward to it. Congratulations on making it through all the cravings and staying totally committed to your new healthy eating plan for the last 4 weeks. It does feel wonderful to be in control doesn't it. I didn't want to have a cheat day for the first 2 months of my diet, but as you will have read, I finally had one today. I will be a WW angel again tomorrow though  I thank you too for asking where I have been today and hoping all is ok. You are very kind. I must say since reading your last post saying how you are fighting temptation and how we can do this, I feel a bit guilty about my day off today :dizzy: I promise to be a good girl again tomorrow :D Vicki - that is fantastic that you are under 300 lbs now :cheer: I am so happy for you. I still have that as my first big goal, it will feel so good to be under 300 lbs for the first time in ages. Thank you for the congrats on my losing 3 lbs, I hope that I don't go and gain back a lb of that after my little diet day off today :o Sue Marie - Thanks for the enthusiasm over getting my positive attitude back. Hope you aren't disappointed to hear that I gave in today and took a day off. Congrats on getting such a fantastic score on your midterm :bravo: are you happy with that?? I should think you are :D Good for you for choosing the scales that take just less than what you are weighing. What a fabulous incentive to keep on the right track. It will be brilliant when you use the scales for the first time and see such a good loss. Do you own an oil burner, the ones with little tea light candles that you put a couple of drops of oil in and the candles warm it up? I find that they are a beautiful way to help get a house smelling nice. I burn oil for half an hour after I have cooked chips (fries) for the family, and the awful smell goes for good. Perhaps that will work for you. Manda - Hope you are enjoying your morning walks, do you have pretty places where you can take the walks? When I used to live in the Mountains in Australia there were such beautiful bush walks you could go on. I would dearly love to be living there now, you would never catch me in on a dry day, I would enjoy walking if I had such a beautiful place to do it. Sheri - Congrats on the 2 lbs lost :cheer: :bravo: you are doing so well. 14 lbs gone forever!! Jen - have you given away that left over candy. I am the same as you, if I have temptation like that in my path it is so difficult to say no isn't it. I liked one of the girls tips to buy candy that you don't like, at least that way you won't be so tempted to indulge!! You go girl, you show those doctors that you can be fat AND healthy. I am so happy for you that your tests came back showing no cancerous cells, and that all those other tests you had at the health fair came back so great. Mnemosyne - I don't think we have met, so hello, nice to see you posting. You are totally right about the Biggest Loser. On the UK version this week, one of the trainer said how the contestants work out 5 hours a day in the gym. Geez, no wonder they are losing so much weight. I think we would all do as well if we were in the same position!! Brenda - good for you for not letting the bad weather stop you from going walking. I think you and your darling doggy will look so brilliant in your matching yellow rain gear. I hope you will get somebody to take a photo so we can see how cute you both look. Lilion - nice to see you popping in to post, and that's a great tip you gave about the Halloween candy. Lori - thank you too for asking after me. I am feeling much better now. Even more so after a diet day off. We went shopping, hubby and I. Initially we went so he could have his hair cut, and we were going to look for nice healthy roasted sesame, pumpkin, and sesame seeds. I couldn't find any, so we carried on shopping. Then hubby said we should have lunch out, and I thought blow it, I have been so good for two months, without giving my self one treat, so I gave in. It's amazing how having a break can make you feel so much better  Thanks for telling me where you got your siggy from. It's nice when friends can make nice things like that for you isn't it. One of the ladies from this site, and an email friend now has made me some lovely siggys lately. Wyllen - I am pleased to hear that your PT is helping you, even if it does sound you are getting stretched to all sorts of weird postions. As long as it works though that's the most important thing. Julee - how many Jewish holidays are there? Sounds like they all seem to fall around this time of year. Good for you for trying to stick to healthy eating during all these days when you could be eating as you would have done in days of old!! Catherine - CONGRATULATIONS on your engagement, what absolutely fantastic news. I am thrilled for you. I am also so happy that you told your future husband how much you used to weigh, and how much you have lost. I am sure he is so very proud of you. I hope you are going to dedicate at least one chapter in your book to your wonderful romance :D Alison - so glad to see your post. I am happy to hear you are on anti depressants and that they are already taking effect for you. It makes all the difference to trying to lose weight when you have depression under control. Did you close your hotmail account? I tried to email you the other day but my email came back to me with the message there is no such account. Jill - so glad to hear that your move went well and that nothing disasterous happened. Good to hear too that you have managed to finally shop and get some healthy food in. It will be easier to get back on track when you have some healthy stuff to choose from. Well I think I have caught up with everybody now, so it's time to go watch Kath and kim, love that show. Bye for now everybody, see you tomorrow. Hugs, Ammi  |
Evening Ladies!
Andrea ~ I hear ya on the wanting a cheeseburger!! I just finished saying that to my hubby at supper! I was good though :smug: I had steak, carrots and a salad ;) I decided that as good as a cheeseburger would taste, it wasn't going to make me "feel" good and I feel great today. I walked 3 miles again this afternoon :dancer: Ammi ~ Glad to see you posted! It was nice here today but the first day that we have to walk in the rain, I will be sure to have someone take a pic so you can see us ;) Have a good night everyone. I spent so much time walking and visiting with my mother in law that tonight, we clean the spare room. :strong: I need to get my gym set up! Until tomorrow, Brenda |
Just wanted to drop by and say "hi". I had so many posts to catch up on! I have been working longer hours at work and not going to bed on time like I should. Consequently, I am a very tired girl! I wasn't going to post at all, but when I read that Catherine got engaged I had to pop on and say CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Ammi -- Don't worry about a day off.....believe me girl after two months you deserved it....I think I may allow myself a cheat day myself. We gotta have those every once in awhile. Glad to know you are doing okay.
Brenda -- Way to go on walking three miles....Hope the spare room cleaning was fun. :) |
