Good Morning Everyone. A quick post before heading to "Bear Country" LOL. I can't wait to go. We will be bbqing there for dinners so last night I did lots of prep stuff for things to go along with bbq's that are healthy. I cut up tons of tomatoes and cucumbers and put them in wine vinegar. I also had seen a receipe in a backyard mag about how to bbq fresh asparagus so I took foil and put a tiny bit of olive oil on it then garlic and salt an pepper and snuggled the aspargus up in the foil tightly. I love aspargus and can't wait to have it that way. We also are planning on eating fresh trout. So far though we only have one from last weekend. I don't know how much luck my folks have had this week as they are out of cell phone range etc.

I'm praying you will all have a wonderful Holiday weekend and at some point this weekend you will experience FREEDOM from something. Be safe
Blessings,
Dogpal

Well..seeing as I don't know how to make a new sticky thread...here I am...maybe one day I'll learn. So I have a yummy recipe for you all for the weekend...it's a great spread or a dip and it's super low cal and low fat...and it tastes good too!

Spicy Mayo Dip/Spread
1 cup FF Mayo (Smart Balance)
2-3 TSP Dijon Mustard
2 TBS Worstershire sauce
3 Tsp Minced Garlic
Juice from a lemon
Salt & pepper

Mix and serve on anything.....refrigerates well.

1 cup = 4 pts on WW....which means that 1/4 cup is only 1 pt (and that's a LOT of dip).

Anyways...it doesn't feel like vacation yet only because I normally have Fridays off. All I have done so far today is get a car wash. I'm about to hit the grcery store and throw in some laundry but those are also normal Friday things. Maybe on Tuesday I'll feel more in vacation mode.

Until later my fair chickies!

BOO HOO!

I was looking forward to my trip to the gym this evening for my induction and health check, but on the health check my blood pressure was high.

Anyway to cut a long story short I have to go to my GP and get the all clear from him.

I don't think there will be a problem, just delays things a little and I was so keen to get started this weekend.... :dizzy:

Pearwoman: If you click on the "UserCP" option at the top of the page (in the purple stripes, upper left hand side) you'll get a menu of items on the left. Click on "Edit Avatar". You'll get a whole bunch of choices, there's even a pull down list of options. I'm sure you'll find something you like and can call your own. Just select and it will be added for you.

Julee: What kind of thread were you trying to start to "sticky"? Mods are the only ones that can sticky threads. If it was to post your recipe (which looks great BTW) we already have a recipe thread that you're welcome to add to.

J-Ann: Nice to see you. I wasn't sure you were still hanging around.

Biggirl-Funny you should mention the nut needing to be in a museum, he's in charge of security for the Dali Museum. Can you image putting that guy in charge of about $300 million worth of stuff. As to the house, I really hold to the adage that if something seems too good to be true, it may well be. Ask yourself if reasonable realtors would act in the same way these guys are. At the very least, check them out with the BBB or the State Realtors licensing folks.

Thanks to everyone who comiserated with me about my van. It is running great now. I am blessed with a really honest mechanic. It needed just short of an overhaul, and cost $1,400. They overhauled it 10 years ago, so I guess it was due for something. He got it done in two days. We worked it out that it costs about $100/month total in maintainence, but I haven't made a car payment in 15 years, so I can live with that. When you drive an old VW, it has to be a labor of love. I've got to start on the rust again soon.

Now for the fun stuff, I passed out cold in the GNC today. I didn't eat enough for breakfast, and got too hot. My fear of making a public spectacle is out the window. Several things were very different about this time than the last time I colapsed in public. First the clerks treated me with compassion and concern instead of revulsion. One actually touched me. It was just a cold towel to the head, but when I was 600 lbs., people were too creeped out to touch me, even doctors. Secondly, the paramedics joked with me instead of talking to each other like I wasn't there. No one called a fire engine so that they'd have enough people to lift me on the gurney. I didn't need to go on the gurney, but I remember vividly my last trip where they sent two ambulances so they'd have enough men to lift me in and out. Lastly, I was able to get up off the floor with out calling in a fork lift. I got up just by grabbing the arm of one of the paramedics. I haven't gotten up off the floor without a major production in 15 years. I have been wondering lately if I would be able to, but was too afraid to get down there just for an experiment. That's one more fear gone now. Got up, dusted myself off, and left with my vitamins and a sheepish grin, like any normal sized person would have.
