Wheeee. I really pushed myself hard while biking tonight and I did 8 miles in 32 minutes! I was shooting for an hour, but my bad foot started getting some sort of pains in it (which happens all the time because of my disability, which is why I'm biking to strengthen it).
I ate 1665 calories today. I suppose I could've had something more caloric than cucumbers and carrots at the end of the day, but that's what I wanted. Do calories really matter if you feel full (not from liquids but, food)? I mean last night, I had 1825 and I went to bed with my stomach hurting because three weeks of 1,200 to 1,500 calories shrunk my stomach I think. Or I've just gotten used to eating as much as I can for low calorie counts. I just don't know. I also felt really down today. I told Jay that I'm feeling a little overwhelmed and unmotivated. We went out and bought me a very cute skort. It really did make me feel better. Another question: I usually get up about 12:30 p.m. (most often than not) today it was 10:45, yesterday it was 11:30 a.m.), and stay up anywhere from 2:30 a.m to 4 a.m. (depending on what I'm doing) so I usually have a SMALL snack around 11 p.m. Is that unacceptable? Even if I keep it something fairly low calorie? Keeping that in mind, what is the latest I should eat my dinner, would the 7 p.m. rule still apply to me, or is it all on an individual basis. Oh look at me! I've gone chatty. For the Wednesday Wish List: I wish I could loose 100 pounds so I could start auditioning for plus size modelling. I feel I would excel at that. Ladies, I know I'm new, but I'm so thankful you're all here, I love being able to come here and read everything you all write. I don't feel so alone in this. (Jay's understanding, but he doesn't really know what it's like, you know). Thanks for putting up with newbie dieter questions and welcoming me so warmly. |
http://www.healthstatus.com/calculate/dee I found this, it caculates how many calories your body uses to function in a day. I guess that means if you eat less than that...and exercise, that's when you loose weight right. It told me almost 3900 calories.

Happy Wednesday!!!
I walked out this morning and the birds are singing, the sun is coming up earlier and it just gave me a big happy boost. I'm in a great mood and will be happy to share with anyone who needs it. I've been OP for 3 days now and am amazing myself. The only down side has been all the trips to the bathroom because of all the water I'm drinking. Deciding I may need to figure my bathroom/water ratio here and see if I can beat yesterday's goal! lol. Hope its flushing the fat with it! Everyone enjoy your day and BE HAPPY! SPRING IS NEAR!!! :cp: |
OOOPS, Forgot something...
Scooter...you get to your goal, I'll dance with ya sweetie...it burns calories! |

It's a lovely day in mid-Missouri! Maybe this time Mother Nature will see fit to keep it that way! We've been doing that 60 one day then 30 the next thing....I'm so ready for spring to spring. Brought my very healthy lunch with me today but don't know when I'm going to get the chance to eat it...My lunch hour is pretty much spoken for with a trip to the bank, filling up with gas and running home to check on installation of my new garage doors. I may wind up grabbing a sandwich somewhere-but finding something not too messy to eat in the car is always a trick. McDonalds was a LOT easier than trying to figure out how to get something else...Maybe I'll eat at my desk after lunch time. If I close the office door, who's to know? Scooter! Good for you! We'll all be dancing for you! I'm SO looking forward to breaking 300 - I can imagine how good that feels! :D Well, it's off to work for me! Have a great day Ladies! Lilion |
Scooter-yes you can use me as cautionary tale or inspiration, even if I don't feel that way. I started my journal in July 2004, and haven't missed a day. I divide the page in 1/3-2/3. The short side is for exercise, activity, injuries, upsets. The wide size is for food. I started out with an old spiral, now I use a memo book that fits in my pocket. I buy a case at a time at Sams for less than $5. I put a list inside the front cover of my most common stuff. I also keep scratch paper on my kitchen table to tally as I cook. I have done it so long that it seems like second nature. It's got this "waitress taking an order" feeling to it. I reccognize that I will have to do this for the rest of my life. I will also have to do the exercise for the rest of my life. I consider it to be a disease, that is chronic, and if I had diabetes, that would be a lifelong commitment too. I saw a show about a hollywood diet guru, and old lady who had been doing it for decades. Eventhough she had lost her weight 40 years ago, she still kept her daily food journal, and only ate a small piece of cake on her birthday. She was amazing, like a Dr. Ruth of dieting. If she can do it, someone as dense as me can too. I tell people that the path I'm taking is not easy, but it is simple.

Hello all, just checking in mid afternoon to see how everyone's day is going  It's a BEAUTIFUL sunny day here in New Hampshire and I was so glad that I had today off. I went and did a little shopping for myself. I went to Borders and bought a food guide companion, since Catherine has inspired me to not only count "points" but to count calories as well. I am determined to find what amount works best for me.
Lilion: I've never heard of that food chain :( And Panera is my weakness too...I LOVE sandwiches and their broccoli cheddar soup is absolutely divine. Their items are loaded with calories though, so I try to only go there once in a while. Scooter: congratulations on the weight loss, and i know what you mean with the dogs. my dogs sense when i'm about to go somewhere, then they start to whine and try to jump on me. |
My weakness is creamy soups too. YUM.
I'm trying to figure out where I want to eat on my birthday because I get to break my diet. I can't think. I probably won't be able to eat much anyway, which is good!!!! Wheeee. |
yeah me neither, my stomach has shrunk...now if i can just get back into shape!!! i did my walk away the pounds tape and my legs started to hurt after half a mile and i had to stop :( probably cause i was bare foot.
and creamy soups...mmmm....my all time fave is new england clam chowder. i want a Caravel ice cream cake on my birthday! :) |
Good Afternoon!
I have been doing pretty good today. Work is looooong. It is so pretty outside except the wind is making it a little bit chilly. Makes you want Spring so much. Shopaholic: Do you ride outside or a stationary bike? I love to ride my bicycle. Are you the one who said your BF was from KY? I was planning on being so good on my birthday this year. And Cindy a girl in the office made me a chocolate cake YUM! and then my sister bought me a gigantic Great American Cookie with only chocolate icing :dizzy: So I ate cake and cookie the entire weekend. :( and I gained 2.5lbs but I am doing better now that was in January and this is March! I am hoping to get in my exercise tape tonight before I watch Survivor! I was worried that Lost and Survivor were on at the same time. But Lost is a rerun. So my worries are over. Ta Ta for now Scoot |
Melissa, I like my homemade chicken corn chowder bestest. I want a Baskin Robbins IC cake.
Scooter, I ride a stationary recumbent bike (recumbent for my back). It's an excellent model. It came with a built in weight rack and 2#,3# and 5# weights, we already had a set of 10# weights. It's nice because I don't feel embarrassed about anyone looking "at the fat chick riding a bike". And my boyfriend teases me and tells me I look so cute (yeah, hes from Kentucky). good luck on your mini goal sweetie! For my niece's birthday (April 20th) last year, I made her a cake that has the pink and white animal cookies around the outer edge. It was a strawberry cake. It looked awesome. I think I have a picture of it somewhere. I was so proud. |
Hi all! Just checking in from Bacheloretteville! I'm enjoying my time "off". Did find out today that Honey and I misread his itinerary and he gets home on Friday and NOT Saturday! Oh well. I miss him coming home from work, sitting in the recliner and falling asleep. ;)
I went to bed early last night. It really felt good. I had stayed up until 3 AM for the previous couple of nights and then was back up by 7 AM to get to work and it had definitely taken it's toll after a couple of nights. I haven't gotten a thing done around the house this week. I had good intentions but Mother Nature has been messin' with me and I just haven't felt like it. I'm totally off tomorrow so I'm going to stay home and maybe clean. Eeeeeekkkkkk! Interestingly enough I tried both of the calculators that were posted. One said I would need to eat 2900 calories a day to maintain, the other said 3300. That's a 400 calorie spread!!! I'm guessing this calorie stuff is NOT an exact science. Somebody asked, I don't remember who, where the info came from that I posted and it's a combination of how many WW points are in the spread for weights along with something a WW person posted on another thread. Probably not accurate either with the way the rest of this is shaking out. :( To all my Survivor friends: Don't forget Survivor is on TONIGHT, not tomorrow this week! We surely don't want to miss it. Well, my dears, I'm going to bug outta here without replies. You all have a good evening. Love  ya bunches. |
