Intro and Exercise Equipment

Hello everyone. I am logging into your group for the first time. I found 3FC last year and spent about a month doing well. Then life happened and I went off my diet and into stress mode. Anyway I'm back again and I found your site which I believe is a much better place for me. I am not sure of my weight but it at about 335. Two years ago I joined the gym and lost several pounds but then stopped going b/c it interfered with the only time I see my family when I tried to go back again I felt very out of place. However, I know that I must exercise to lose weight and I must find time or I will not have it later! I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good brand of tread or eliptical (reasonably priced). I prefer the eliptical at the gym however the tread probably works better b/c it hurts more!

Actually, according to the little automatic calorie burning counter thingies on the equipment at my gym, I burn a LOT more calories on the eliptical than on the tread mill. I have more fun on the eliptical, too. I think I burn more because it's easier to go faster on the eliptical because of the flow of the eliptical shape rather than the harsh and abrupt pounding of jogging or running (or even walking--lord knows I can only run for about 10 econds before I get tired!). I'd be interested if anyone knows where I could get a way affordable eliptical machine too...

WELCOME !!! Glad to see you joining in again. You did itr once you can do it again.
I too need to exercise to lose weight. I can't help you with the exercise equipment but I know I see them at goodwill, and salvation army stores all the time. Soon there will be garage sales too and they always have exercise equipment of all kinds.

I too would recommend the eliptical because it just looks like more fun. :)
Add that too burning more calories and that is a thumbs up. LOL
But everyone has different preferrences. What do you like best ??
