300+ and Ready To Try Again ... #643

WELCOME !!!

We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.

We want to invite everyone to join us in our journey.
We share laughter and tears.
We share what works for us and what doesn't.
We often use a "Topic of the Day" for discussion.

Motivational Monday
Tuesday Tips
Wednesday Wish List .. and What you are doing to obtain it.
Thankful Thursday
FUN Friday ... don't wait until you lose your weight.
Sit-up Saturdays - any physical activity
Share your Success Sunday

These are not required topics ...just ideas to share. We often find them very helpful. We also share heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations.

We have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, and more. Please feel free to check them all out.

We have a bi-weekly 2x2 Challenge.
Our goal is to lose 2 lbs in 2 weeks.
We have a long term goal of losing 300+ lbs within our 300+ group in 2005.

We have found this thread to be more than just a support group...
we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us.

WELCOME!

Yes, I'm going to participate! I'll just have to find a time to sneak on to my roomie's scale - or I'll have my own by then since I've been eyeing one on ebay (but it seems to only go to 330 so I might not be able to use it).

I need to post more often because its harder to keep up when I don't :( My apologies. I've been really bad with snacking, but slowly coming out of my rut.

Does anyone else have a hard time realizing that this is "reality" ?

Sometimes when I look at the numbers it just seems all like it's not me. Sometimes I still look at pictures and its hard to really understand that it is me there I'm looking at. I try to think of myself "in shape" and I can see the body - but I still can't put my face with it. Telling myself I've lost already around 30 pounds and that if I reach my next goal (around 315 by March 18th) I will have lost around 50 pounds.. I still *shrug* it off and just feel amazed that I've done something like that (even though I have a long long way to go) but still feel no different.

I guess since its Motivation Monday, I'm here trying to think of my motivation :) I'm trying to tell myself that I've done SO good so far and I can do this.. that I have been doing it.. yet it still feels like its all a lie and someone else did it.

Anyone have any similar feelings?

:grouphug:
Let this week be an amazing week :)

JOYce--Which is the big city?

CD--I sort of know what you mean. Certainly when it comes to looking at pictures of myself, I often don't feel like that's me. I mean, I know it is and all, but it's hard to believe. However, IT IS YOU WHO'S SUCCEEDING AT THIS WEIGHT LOSS THING. Really!!! And me too! A lot of us! You should be soo, soo proud of yourself. As hard as it is, you're keeping with it. You have times when it's hard to keep going.... but then you DO IT. No one else could do this for you, so ... it must be CD! That should be motivational, baby... you're strong :strong: and powerful :sumo: and determined :coach:, and you didn't even know it! So, here's my challenge to you for today: take a moment to really know it's you!

ARG, the water, the water

Okay, gang, I'm in training for the February challenge. The one thing I wasn't doing before was 64 oz. of water, but I thought doing the challenge would be a way to get myself to do it. Last week I did 32 oz. and found it manageable... today I'm shooting for 64, and I am SO SICK OF RUNNING TO THE WOMEN'S ROOM!! It's pretty far away, which is good, since it means some walking in my day, but BAD when you've waited too long!!!! Oh well, I guess I'll adapt.

Welcome, Terri-pumpkinseeds! Congrats on your loss! And congrats on your baby! Nice to meet you. Come on back and see us sometimes.

WELCOME Pumpkinseeds/Terri !!!!
We are equally thrilled you found us. :cp: Congratulations on your new baby and your weight loss. Tell us more about yourself and is your baby a boy or girl ??

Angela... the bathroom trips will get better. When you don't drink enough water your body hangs on to each drop. Once you start drinking lots of water your body starts releasing the water it has been hanging on to. That is why you have a large water weight loss in the beginning. But once drinking those 64 oz regularly... your body will adjust.

Afternoon Everyone…

Roll Call – I’m confused  but I’ll sign up for it since I know it’s a 2x2 (that’s about as much as I know *cheesy grin* )

Angela - :yikes: Well thank goodness there was no major loss. Does the apartment complex pay for any of the damage? I remember when we lived in our apartment, when our dishwater didn’t drain or it got clogged or something happened to it, to the point of where it backed up and soaked our carpet. The apartment complex cleaned the carpet for us. Good luck with your classes! Thanks for the luck for my exam. It’s coming up on Tuesday. You know what really sucks… I have two study partners… who I have tried to contact and have yet to hear from them… GRRR! Hehehe ah well…

Ruby – Chin up! Just keep in mind… you did it once, you can do it again! I have often found myself gaining, loosing, gaining, loosing… very frustrating… specially in stressful situations as you mention… just try to keep a positive outlook!! *big hugz*

Hippychick – exactly! Have you ever heard of zig-zag or hmm can’t think of the other name for it. *brain damage* But basically say your calorie intake is 2000 a day. For 7 days that’s 14000 calories. So if you eat 2400 calories one day, just take 100 less for four days, or divide it up however you want, as long as in the end at the week you come out to 14000 calories, things should be okie. There was a great post somewhere, ages ago that I was replying to, had a lot of great info about this zig zagging of calories… I’ll have to see if I can find it and I’ll post a link to the thread.

2Cute – Good positive outlook! Monday is always around the corner! Remember, you did it once, you can do it again!

I had a slight problem last night… This exam is stressing me out. The teacher is like way out there, and some of the questions are redundant and like… strange. I sorta dipped into some Doritos last night… okie, not sorta… I majorly dipped into them. :yikes:

Well, I’ll be doing some extra work out sessions, cause Lord knows that Claim Jumpers dinner I had with my family who flew in from Ohio really didn’t help either. I weighed in this morning… I gained a pound back looks like. Might have been 2, it’s hard to tell when you gotta lean over your boobs and tummy to see the scale reading. I don’t have a digital one, so it makes it even harder. I should look into getting a digital one soon.

So I think I gained one back, but for the sake of my bending over and moving the needle, I’ll just say I gained two back and for the end of my 2x2 I lost 3lbs.

I don’t work or have class on Mondays, so when I get up, James is already gone. He’s my official weight reader so I don’t have to bend over myself to read ;) I’ve tried using a mirror but my eyes have eye strain so it’s hard to see… OY!

Lets see how I do for the next 2x2!

:goodvibes: Positive Thoughts Everyone!

Sue…
