Okay, this is weird. Since Jan. 1, I've been on a calorie-restricted diet of around 1700-1800 cals per day. I struggled to lose 1 to 1 1/2 pounds a week. This week, I have increased my cals to about 2000 per day and lost 3 pounds!!?? Oh well, I'll take it. :)

Yeah I've been eating less calories and I'm only losing about 1 lb per week.... The first week I lost 3. So I've been really sad the last few weeks seeing only 1 lb come off -- but it's gone for good!! I've lost 5 pounds in 3 weeks... many more to go

1st Jan 2004 - 380.3 lbs
1st Nov - 345.9 lbs (just before I joined 3fc)
4th Jan 2005 - 340.6 lbs - first official weighin for the year
28th Feb - 331.6 lbs (down 0.4) - bombed out of the second Feb 2x2 challenge.
Only lost 2.6 lbs during February, but considering the month I have had, I am not complaining too much. It's just a really slow road for me, and I guess the faster I realise that and stop comparing myself to others then the less I will get discouraged and depressed by it.

Lost in 2004 (June to December): 22

1/10/05: 298 / hip measurement 64.5 inches
1/17/05: 298
1/24/05: 297
1/31/05: 294 / 64
2/7/05: 288.5
2/14/05: 292
2/21/05: 291.5
2/28/05: 290

It's still aggravating not to be under 290, when I was there three weeks ago, but I suppose that was just a blip.

Leann, it's slow, I know, but you're still moving... hang in there, everybody, the trends are generally down... BarbG, you knew you took a month off, so I guess it's not too bad, huh? But it'll give you something to shoot for when the time to maintain comes again.

Ok I'm gonna post this question here.... last week I lost 8 lbs. I've never done that much before. I did start drinking my water everyday and exercising... but still I figure most of that is just water. I'm worried this week about some of it coming back. I know at our 'larger' sizes it's easier for us to lose a larger amount of weight.... but in you guys' opinions...... do you think when you lose over 5 lbs a week that it is mostly water or do you think it could be a REAL loss of fat?

Hi .....To be honest I've never cared whether what I lost was water or fat. What matters is "I lost". You can look at it this way: That 8 lbs. represents a real loss and this is your real weight w/o water weight. If you stay OP and don't lose, or even gain a bit back that could be (really, probably is) a water gain. Hope this makes sense.

thefictionalme 02-28-2005 10:56 PM

I maintained the same this past week, still at 302. At least I didn't gain.

Turtle025 02-28-2005 11:56 PM

Hi ladies! Sounds like everyone is doing a great job with their losses. If you don't mind, I'd like to join your thread. Since 1/1/05 I have lost 19 lbs, but somehow I still feel like this is taking a really long time. I'm trying to lose another 5 lbs by the 17th but I'm a little worried because my weight loss seems to be slowing down. Maybe I need to add another workout or two to my weekly schedule, I dunno. The hardest part is finding the time! Anyway, congrats on all the weight you guys have lost and I hope to have good news too add soon too.
