Its good to have had a productive day and can now relax. I started off with DH coughin on the back of my head at 6:30. I moved to the futon for another hour before getting up. I was feeling rather down this morning. Partly due to PMS but feeling like I didn't get enough accomplished around the house yesterday nor did I get to ride. My riding partner is sick. And I wasn't sure I could go today either. As I told DH, it was mainly feeling like I have the horses and have made them available, but am at the mercy of someone else. To combat the feelings, I got up and got busy. I finished off the laundry, did some ironing, picked stuff up all over the house, vacuumed upstairs and downstairs, and shredded a mountain of paperwork. It was amazing how much better I felt by being up and moving around and the feeling of accomplishment. I even drug all my scrapbooking supplies to the dining table and did my first scrapbook page. It took about 1-1/2 hours! One page, two pictures down and about 100 pics to go. I started working on the pics from my NYC trip last Thanksgiving. It was rather intimidiating at first but it will go faster now that I've started. After the Chief's game and lunch, DH went with me out to the barn. I had decided to ride on my own. I got Tanyah ready and left DH with Ginger. He watched the next football game on his little mini-TV that I had bought him for his birthday. We have walkie-talkies so he could talk to me while I was out. It was really great. I decided that we need to do some trail riding without having others around. I've not gone back into the woods on the trails on my own for a little bit of fear that noone would find me if I got hurt. But I needed to learn that I'm okay to do that and she needed to get over trying to go back to the barn. DH called me and told me when it was time to head back. That was okay because I know its hard on him to be left behind. We scared a deer and a flock of wild turkeys. I just love seeing the wildlife. We trotted and cantered which always amazes me that I don't fly off. OOOH, but I forgot to wear my motion control bra. :yikes: The dog got his walk in tonight too so I'm not lacking on the exercise today. I signed up for WW Online again today. That way I have more access to info about points and make sure I'm doing the most accurate counting. Cheaper than going to the meetings. Sounds like everyone is doing well. Have a good evening! |

Turkeys are taking over the thread!!! So far I have 3 feathers/leaves for the day. I find it so hard to fit exercise in on Sundays, but I'm not giving in or up yet. I even went to a baby shower and didn't eat the cake!!! http://home.ripway.com/2004-11/20039...arbexplode.gif |
Hi Ladies -
I hope you all had a great weekend. I haven't had a chance to read all the posts, but wanted to say hi! :) I went to the pampered chef party last night and had a good time. As always, my friend that had it had tons of food. I stayed away from the pasta and just had a few bites of some things. I bought a really pretty serving set they have that will go great in my kitchen. Today Jeff and I were pretty lazy - hanging around the house mourning the Eagles first loss. What a pathetic football game. Now I am trying to pull DH from the computer for some quality time together before another hectic week starts. I'll talk more with you lovely gals tomorrow. I've been pretty much on track with the exception of exercise today. I'll make up for it a little tonight, but 2cute says that doesn't count.   Sweet Dreams to all! :) Barb |
Well, I was pretty good while gone... I ended up staying up ALL NIGHT Friday in order to finish my paper, then driving to St. Louis, giving the paper, going to one session, and collapsing with exhaustion. However, before collapsing with exhaustion, I exercised for 20 minutes in the hotel room--all because of you ladies (and the turkey). THANK YOU. Managed to stay OP food-wise too.
2cute--I was so moved by your post about the pond. You're such a great inspiration and encouragement and as sad as I was to hear how bad that was for you, I was just as proud and inspired to know you went home and GOT IT DONE. Kids, I feel terrible, I rarely respond to folks... will try to do better but as usual must run... I'll try for real to catch up tomorrow. |
Just a quickie before I go to bed.
I don't intend for this next comment to START a discussion. I just want to thank each and every one of you for behaving so nicely during the times before the election and now after. You guys have not mentioned one word and I love you all for it. Being privy to the Mods chatter, there have been some real dicey fights on some of the threads and you guys have been HEAVEN to be around! I love  you bunches for not making me have to be a b!^@h and delete threads and referee fights. YOU GUYS ARE GREAT!!!!! |
TWO DAYS IN A ROW of EARNING all my feathers. :cp:
Two days of good food, lots of water, exercise and journal. How appropriate.... TWO for 2cute. Next thing I want to share is.... HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR PAPERDOLL HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU !!!!! :hb: :hat: :gift: :balloons: :gift: :hat: :hb: Thin.... You're Welcome. ;) We are just too busy here working on getting well. I have avoided "Shall we Dance" because I knew that line would make me cry. Since I am not stuffing my feelings... they are right on the surface and I knew that story line would probably be too close to home. Everyone says it is a good movie. I want to thank you for reminding everyone about the Xmas Card Exchange. Thanksgiving would be the perfect time to take those pictures to share in our cards. Remember ladies... None of us liked our pictures taken... but we can do it for each other. I would love to see your families too. Angela ... :bravo: Going out of town is always hard. YOU DID IT !!! File this victory in your memory bank so when you feel defeated in the future you can pull this victory back up and say... "I did it then... I can do it NOW too. " BarbPA... Nope...you don't get to count it... but you can ENJOY IT !!! :D Barbg... I LOVED these Turkeys too. Can you put the two side by side.... then we can have a Before and After ... first one a fat turkey.. the second one thin. I have to ask.... you always post 3 Turkeys. Does that represent 3FCs ?? I am just so impressed by your PROGRESS !!! I think you have started a new WOL. Terri.... I am so envious of your horseback riding. It sounds like such a nice way to get in some exercise and get to enjoy the outdoors too. I do love the outdoors. We used to camp all the time. We used to go out in our boat too. I am looking forward to next summer because ... I WILL BE THINNER and able to do more by then. :drill: Michelle... I am glad your Turkey gobbled and squawked you into posting daily again. :) It is FUN isn't it. :D THREE feathers is GREAT !!!! Just smile knowing that today you are going to get FOUR again. :high: Andria... it sounds like this Turkey Contest is bringing out a little bit of competiveness in you. You are doing awesome with your choices and your WILLINGNESS to do whatever it takes. Well .. that is everyone since my last post. I want to tell everyone to be sure to watch Oprah TODAY. She has a woman who was on her show many years ago weighing 580lbs. She has now lost 300+ lbs. I think she has had major surgery to remove the excess skin and flab. I HOPE and Pray I remember to watch it myself. LOL ALSO .... Today is when you get to collect your BONUS feather if you have posted every day since Nov 3rd. It did not have to be a long post. Just a post each and every day. How many of you get to collect ??? Don't forget to keep it up. You get to collect THREE BONUS points for posting DAILY through the end of this contest ...Thanksgiving / TURKEY DAY. PS... contrary to what it looks like from me... you do not get to count multiple posts in a single day. LOL AND TODAY IS MOTIVATION MONDAY.... I get so much motivation watching all of you working so hard on this challenge. Barbg is LOSING .... CD is drinking her water.... Andria is motivated .... Angela is exercising in a hotel room.... Thin is giving up PB cups and caffeine Michelle is posting again ... Susie even showed up ... LOL Terri is consistent and DETERMINED ... BarbPA .... well ... she is off having SEX !!! All of you... (I know I did not mention each by name).... motivate me to keep doing my best. Heck... better than my best. I am doing DARN GOOD. :D I have exercised three out of five days.... without a pool. :cp: Make it a MARVELOUS MONDAY !!! |
OK I am putting this in writing. I am leaving my computer once I post this, I'm getting Andrew dessed and ready for school, I am going to look for my headset, and then when I get him on the bus I am out the door for a nice walk. Its so nice and warm here this morning there is no excuse! Then when I get back I will have a nice OP breakfast and get started on finishing up the two boxes in the livingroom! By then the boy will be home and its referee time between him and the dog. His newest thing is to try and get Lucky to bite him. I usually end up putting the poor dog in the back room for some peace and quiet! OK off to start my tasks! I'll be back!

I'm BAAAAACK! Phew! I don't remember walking being so hard!! Geesh! I started out fine but halfway down the street I really felt myself slowing down considerably!! I went out my front door down the side street and took a left two streets over, thats the main road in and out of our neighborhood, taking a left brings you down to the apartment buildings that are housing for the Baptist Seminary students, I walked around the circle at the apartments and back UP the street, half the street is uphill, I almost died! The trick is to not look straight ahead but look down, when I got to the crest of the hill I could feel the pressure in my legs become relieved so I knew I was on flat ground again, but then once I got to my driveway I didnt' think I was going to make it up or up the 5 steps! My driveway is a slight incline and my steps are low thankfully! But anyway, I did it and it took me 21 minutes! Sweat is pouring off my back and forehead right now but it will get easier! I was envisioning myself walking up that hill like it was nothing. Hopefully in another month that will be the way it is!! I won't give up I won't give up! I use to love walking every morning! And it sure helps you down that water when you get back too!
Ok, I'm off to find me a nice OP breakfast...I'm sure I will be back again!! TTFN Michelle |
I decided I had better get in here to keep me going - I have a lot of emotional stuff going on right now and don't want to "slip" into the eating/no exercise mode. Of course I am sure :drill: won't allow that anyway!
I, too am behind in reading here so I have to do that also. Later, work is calling!!! :coffee: |
Good morning!
I've got my required exercise done for the day! Yuk, Yuk, Yuk (think Three Stooges). :bravo: Michelle! Good job! 2Cute - Thanks for the reminder about Oprah, I'll try to remember to watch it tonight at 9:00. Angela - :bravo: to you too!!! Thin - I don't know about others, but I could get into making you be the b**** and having to delete threads and all. Anyone want to start a fight to see how bad she can be? :lol3:  Just kidding! :D Okay, time to get ready for work. to everyone else! |
Morning all... got an extra walk in this a.m. so I'm feeling pretty full of myself.
Michelle--I used to live in Pittsburgh in a town as steep as San Francisco, I always thought, so I know what you're talking about!!! You made it. Lucky--Good for you being self-aware enough to know you're in a danger zone. It always creeps up on me and I don't figure it out until too late. Terri--Sure, I'll start a fight. Only, let's not fight about politics, okay? Lessee... how about baseball? Nah, I don't know anything about baseball. I know, how about whether my secretary's dress is green, aqua, or blue? No one around here can decide. |
I was all set to claim my bonus sticker for daily posting, when I looked back and saw, <to my horror!> that I didn't post on the fourth...:( I was going to use that, too, to plug in the gap from yesterday. Not my worst day EVER, but the worst of the game so far. And really not too bad, since the exercise I DID get, apparently does not earn stickers!
Well Thin, YOU'RE WELCOME! My first thought was, "OOH! Which threads? Where's the fighting?" I didn't get a chance to get outside yesterday, and it killed me, cuz it was SO nice out! We had a friend over to watch the game. Eagles v. Steelers. It WAS sad, wasn't it, Barb? Pathetic. I made my healthy chili, had lots of veggies and water...but just never got to the <ahem, conventional> exercise! So, it's a new day, in a new week...all kinds of possibilities for greatness lie ahead! Gotta get moving! See you later! |
2cute, I do three because that's what fits in the space. Here are the 3fatchicks:
I only got three stickers yesterday, I really meant to exercise last night, but I went to the bedroom to watch the Dallas Reunion, and it wasn't over until late, and since I was already in the bed..... But I'm on the way to the club for water aerobics. Have a great day everone, And who need more motivation than:http://home.ripway.com/2004-11/20039...ng/bturkey.gif http://home.ripway.com/2004-11/20039...arbaracryn.gif |
Ooops! Angela, I never changed my info on my avatar. I moved from PA about 3 weeks ago to Wake Forest, North Carolina. Its very hard to find a house here with a FLAT yard! I did manage to find the biggest one in the neighborhood though. Its 1/3 of an acre. Where in Pittsburg? My parents are from small coalmine towns just outside of Pittsburg. Richeyville and Daisytown. I guess the bigger towns around there would be Uniontown and California. Are you familiar with them?
Good job on all the exercisers! It does get easier if you stay consistent. I know it doesn't seem like it right now but trust me! Been there and loved it the more I did it! Lucky me too on the emotional stuff...but it seems to make me stronger as far as my food and exercise is concerned. Just gotta prove to myself its all going to be worth it in the end!! I have to tell you...I made the BEST veggie soup ever! Its not point free but it came out to 1 pt for a big bowl! I used 3 small cans of chicken broth, 1- 8 oz can of tomato sauce, 1 small zucchini, 1 lg stalk of celery, about 1 cup of those already sliced carrots, 1 can of mixed veggies and 1 can of small white beans. The beans make it soooo filling! Yummy. Guess what I'm having for lunch today! Ok I gotta get to doing more stuff before my baby boy gets home!! TTFN Michelle |
