Just checking in to let everyone know I read everything before I leave for the healt club, haven't decided if I'm going to do the water walking, or the water strength training class. I guess I decide when I get there and see what my sis wants to do. The 301 plan worked for me yesterday, so I'll try :o uppps make that DO it again. Got to change that negative thinking!

2cute2Bfat 09-21-2004 10:13 AM

Good morning.

Barbg... I love your siggie... "Goal for Detroit: 245" It inspires me. :)
I know you will make it.

Skittles... I asked her if she was nervous and she said no... but I wonder if she didn't realize just how nervous she really was. ??? I didn't tell her how sad she looked. LOL
My Tuesday Tip is water .. water ...and more water !!!!

Thin... I am glad to see you posting. :D I think you got a lot of us thinking and moving. Thank you.

Andria... I am happy to report I am doing MUCH BETTER.
I am sure it had a lot to do with my hormones.

Chris, Barbg and Kat... I don't mess with the trash when throwing food out. I always use the garbage disposal. No chance to retrieve it that way.

Wish I had more time to do replys... but gotta run.
TODAY is the day I start again. Gotta get in some kind of exercise.
Speaking of doing two things and exercising... like during commercials ....
HOLD YOUR STOMACH IN while reading 3fc. You will build up those dreaded stomach muscles... they need it bad. LOL

qsilver 09-21-2004 11:34 AM

Hey everyone :)

Toughest way to start out the morning for me appears to be finding my favorite candy bar stashed next to the computer. Adam swears he has no idea how it got there... uh huh. Whatever!!! So, I'm all alone in the house with this insidious piece of chocolate sitting behind me. Grrr... I'm going to go make something for breaky.

Andria

Hi all! This is going to be weird because I'm going to stick my "good stuff" color in the middle of the story because the whole thing isn't what I did good, just part of it.

It's only just after 1:00, but so far it has been a good day. I had a Focus Group scheduled for 12:00 noon about satelite radio. They were serving lunch before hand at 11:30. I knew that that meant full fat lunch meat, regular bread and a couple of soggy, mayo based salads. (I was RIGHT!) I planned to get there just in time for the discussion so that I could avoid the lunch. That worked out extra specially well because they were over-booked and myself and two other women were told we could go home and we got paid our $100 anyway! WooHoo! :D

I grabbed two servings of grapes to walk out the door with and I have also polished off four glasses of water already. Of course that also means I've been to the toity more times than I can count. I'm on my way to a GREAT day!!!

Skittles: Good job on your GREAT day yesterday! Keep up the good work.

Lucky: Aren't ALL football uniforms the "best"??? I mean, after all, isn't it the form-fitting uniforms that makes us watch the games??? :s:

Barbg: Congrats to you too on the GREAT day yesterday! Maybe we are truly getting back on track.

2cute: Here's  to starting over.....again. I like the "HOLD YOUR STOMACH IN" tip. I never do, I always just let it all hang out. :( Gotta start somewhere.

Andria: Ditch the candy bar!!! :sarg: The compactor or garbage disposal are our two methods of choice. PICK ONE!!!!

Boy, I can't tell you how good it feels to be back here and up and running. I do still feel bad that I just had to start from here and move on. There are soooo many of you that deserve a reply and I'm feeling really guilty about that. I am truly sorry that I cannot back up and catch you all. I love  you guys, bunches!!!

Angela_aka_Alice 09-21-2004 05:32 PM

Hey gang,

I'm terrible, always playing catch-up and trying to get everyone straight still. I did want to send hugs to CD and Andria. I'm in the midst of both divorce (from a man I care about) and tricky relationship stuff (with another guy) so you have ALL my sympathy. And boy it can trigger all kinds of things, huh.

Andria, good luck with the "easy" divorce. Hope it stays that way, all round. I'll let you know if I ever manage to sit down with the papers myself. (A lawyer friend was nice enough to put the package together for me... it's been sitting here for a month now...)

CD, I don't know what your situation is, but I know you deserve to be happy. Food might make you comforted for a moment, but it doesn't really make you happy, right? So, what does? For me it's live music, time with friends. So I indulge myself in both of those just as often as I can to try to keep my mind off the confusing, difficult relationship stuff that creates the need for comfort food.

Well, kids, I'm off to a "major fair" for undecided freshmen... have to help them decide whether they want to major in English or not... there will be cookies, of course... I'm way under calories so I think I'll have EXACTLY ONE since I'm not going to get dinner forever... to keep me honest I'll let you know if I succeeded when I return :)

thinthinker 09-21-2004 05:52 PM

Hello all! I'm baaaaack! Geez, you all wanted me back, well now you might be sorry. ;)

I was able to avoid donuts and chocolate today....two of my favorites. I have gotten another fruit serving in since we talked last and I'm having a foot long Subway for dinner with lots of veggies. The water intake is done for the day....well, the ones I have to count, the rest is just extra. :D

Angela: Here's a [[[hugs]]]. Sounds like you have quite a bit on your plate.

FYI
I don't know if you all get the new Jane Pauley show. It's new this Fall on ABC at 10:00 AM here, which used to be "it's a good thing" Martha's time slot. Anyway, tomorrow her show is on "Does thinner mean happier?" It's supposed to talk about how even when you get thin, it doesn't mean your mind follows suit. A preview is available at www.janepauley.com

FYI #2
Propell by Gatorade is available in a 32 ounce bottle at Walmart for 98 cents. BarbPA knows how good Propell is, we got her hooked at Spring Fling.

Well, my dears, I'm off and running once again. Catch you all later.

2cute2Bfat 09-21-2004 07:53 PM

Hi Guys !!!! Just peeking in before Big Brother comes on. Tonight is the finale.

I just wanted to share I STAYED ON PROGRAM and EXERCISED !!!
I feel GREAT and I am looking forward to tomorrow. :D :strong:
I am off to watch BB.... see you later tonight ... maybe. LOL

katrinabgood 09-21-2004 08:04 PM

Now, let me see...Would I be happier if I was THINNER???

****, YES!!!

First of all, I'd be a whole lot healthier, and I'm enjoying pretty good health now.

I'd sure feel better, both emotionally and physically.

I know I'd look better!

Yeah, I'm not seeing a downside to being thinner.

I do understand what she's aiming at though. If someone has problems, other than weight before losing, they're still gonna be there.

I'll take my chances!

Terri in MO 09-21-2004 09:12 PM

Hi ladies,

No time to post much. The finale of Amazing Race is on plus I have work that I have to do before tomorrow morning.

Thin - Great to see so many upbeat posts from you. Just don't stay away for so long again!

2Cute - :bravo: for your day!

Gotta go!

qsilver 09-21-2004 10:01 PM

Hey everyone :)

I didn't do anything specifically earmarked as exercise today, but I am still exhausted! Today I decided to get up off my backside and start cleaning. I didn't make it out of the kitchen, but that one room looks quite a bit better. I also cooked a pork roast in the crock pot (thanks for reminding me of that, Thin :) ). Too bad I haven't figured out how to vacuum while I'm still on these doggone crutches. You should see me trying to pick things up off the floor. Absolutely hilarious!

I made sure to eat throughout the day, and have about filled up all my little boxes. Water still isn't as good as it was, but then, I can't exactly run to the bathroom like I used to. That will come with time.

Oh, and as far as that obnoxious candy bar goes, I decided to ignore it. If my oldest had purchased it with her own money, I would have felt bad putting it down the disposal. Convincing myself that it was hers made it a total taboo to eat. :)

I've got to get in a nap really soon here because I was called in to work tonight. The money will be nice to help pay all those physical therapy co-pays, but part of me still wishes I hadn't of answered the phone!

Take care :)

Andria

Angela_aka_Alice 09-21-2004 11:20 PM

Hey, Andria, Good for you resisting temptation. I didn't have to... there were no goodies to tempt me at my event, so I ended up not having to worry about it. Still no exercise today--exercise is definitely my biggest challenge. Oh, and alcohol. If I didn't still have work to do.... where DO you find energy to exercise when you're totally overcommitted? Some of you certainly sound busier than me... how do you do it?

Terri in MO 09-22-2004 07:56 AM

Good morning!

Another quickie post. I just finished doing my pilates and have to get my butt to work early.

Andria - You've got a great upbeat attitude inspite of your personal issues and the knee injury. Good for you for not throwing in the towel!

Angela - You have to look at each day and determine what you are going to do and make it a priority on the schedule. You have to find something that works for your lifestyle or change your lifestyle. I get up a little earlier and am happiest doing my pilates or weights/stability ball/exercise bands for stretching and toning. Great for my back for the day. Work in 10 minutes worth of something. The key is planning it into your day and making it a priority.

I'm late for Tuesday Tip but I bought some of the stretchy exercise bands at Wally World for about $10. Use 'em while you're watching your favorite TV show and you've just done toning work.

Make today a great day!
