Hello everyone. I am only here for a second. My day has gone NOTHING like it was planned. I did get in a half hour this morning in water exercising though. :D
I plan to do another workout before dark and the sun disappears. LOL

Hubby is hard at work in garage and if he knew I was on here instead of cleaning or working he would be very disappointed in me so I am not staying. I just had to peek and see I was missing anything. LOL

LuckyLadyBug 05-08-2004 09:14 PM

Let's see - 8:03PM and I finally am ready to rest. :cloud9: I hurt and feel exhaused, BUT am already planning what I will do tomorrow!

I have some more planting, mowing, digging, watering and raking to do.

It's no wonder by June I just want to sit around

I haven't even started using my chain saw!!

Oops, almost dozed off! I have to get to reading!!!!! Geez almost went again :dz:

Are you done planting, Kat?

Jen & BarbPA thanks for the "computer" information. There is so much out there it's hard to know where to begin.

Okay - night!!!

Hi everyone!

Happy Mother's Day!

Sorry I have no time to really stay this afternoon. Off to visit MIL in a minute and then dinner with my mom late this afternoon. Then mom is coming back here with us and we're all going to be together for the Survivor finale and cheesecake dessert.

I did bring you all home a Mother's Day present from Niagara on the Lake. You'll have to look at the attached picture that's your present. :) The whole town was in full "tulip bloom", it was really gorgeous.

On the subject of Survivor: I will hate it, hate it, hate it if Rob wins! (sorry, Susie) but ya know, he really has Outwitted, Outlasted and Outplayed everyone else. I just don't see the jury picking him over any of the others, he's screwed them all. But then again, if they look at the premis of the "game" he has played better than all of them, so who knows?

On the subject of digital cameras: I bought an Olympus D-560 Zoom. I really like it and I would probably even like it better if I read the directions and could do all of the things with it that it says I can do. BTW, I bought it on eBay for less than $200.

On the subject of the Dr. Phil book: I would love to join in the reading but now I'm so far behind. Being out of town put me behind and now I would feel like I'd have to play too much "catch up". Oh well, maybe next time. :(

On the subject of Print Shop: I don't know who the heck this "Geri" person is, but MY techie son says that if you've uninstalled and re-installed and it still doesn't work, about your only option is to re-load your whole computer (BIG pain in the butt!) Sorry, no other ideas.

Well girls, I just wanted to peek in and tell you all that I am still alive and well and living in Michigan. Safe from my trip and back to work. I'll try and catch up better later. Love  ya bunches.

P.S. Someday maybe you guys can tell me how to make the attached pictures actually show up instead of having to click on them again to see them on here. (BarbPA, I think that means you since you seem to be able to accomplish that on the picture thread. :) )

LuckyLadyBug 05-09-2004 01:14 PM

Come on, Thin, speed read through chapter one - it just tells what will be coming in the book and isn't actually any of the work. That fun starts in chapter 2 which starts today!!

2cute2Bfat 05-09-2004 07:59 PM

Okay Thin !!!!! You are NOT going to get off the hook with that pathetic excuse.
It is only one chapter... and it is just a summary chapter at that... telling you what is in store for you. PLUS.. if you read our Chapter one thread you will have all the basics.
So no using the excuse you are one chapter behind. :nono:

I will happily accept... well.. maybe not happily.. but I will gracefully accept the reason of .. " Thanks but no thanks gals. I am just not interested."
And that is okay too. This book study is not mandatory... it is just a place to share and inspire me to read. As you can see... if it were not for the accountabilty of that thread... I would still not have opened that book yet... and I bought it last October. :o LOL

Thanks for the gorgeous pic of the tulips. I would never have even known it was tulips if you had not told us. LOL But I do think they were BEAUTIFUL !!!
I am glad you had a nice Mothers Day. Enjoy your Survival Finale !!!

Lucky... I have my darling hubby outside planting me some flowers out front. I wish they could be planted full and lush. There is the "instant gratification" thing again.
I never realized just how inpatient I really am.

Hi ladies,

This is a quickie. Survivor is starting and I need to focus. I went to mom's yesterday and spent the weekend with her. I haven't been down there since January. The other sibs were there too and we accomplished a few projects for her. I'm sunburned and tired.

I will be totally P.O.'d if Rob wins. He is such an arrogant jerk. However....he has played the game. He also deserves to win because the others were to idiotic by not voting him or Amber off. Stupid Big Tom for thinking he had an alliance with Rob.

Later chicks!

LuckyLadyBug 05-09-2004 09:18 PM

Did anyone watch Dateline? They had the Dr of the South Beach diet on along with a lady losing weight on that and one who did gastric bypass.

If I had a way to pay for the surgery I would do it at this point. She lost 80 lbs in 4 months. I feel so disgusted with myself.

thinthinker 05-09-2004 11:44 PM

Hi all!

Not sure if I'm happy Amber won Survivor or not. I really wanted Rupert to win. He just seems like such a genuinely "nice" guy. And how bout that Rob. Making sure he was winning the million $$$$ no matter if they voted for him or not. Now they'll have $1,100,000 to start their new life with. And what about Gerri? Oh puuullllllleeeeeze!!! Spare me!

Anyway, Mother's Day is over and done with. No big deal here! Maybe next year. The "baby" didn't even wish me a happy Mother's Day. Oh well. :(

2cute: Being behind a chapter was not my polite way of begging off. I really need to take the time to do something for myself and reading the book would definitely fall into that category. Who knows, maybe it was just another way of making an excuse. (quite a quantry now that you mention it, just not a conscience one.) It seems like my life is work and paperwork. I need to really "get" a life, eh?

Lucky: Not sure the surgery is the best way either. Too scared, too many complications, too much pain (yup, that's the big one for me) and no more ever eatting what you like to eat, even in the smallest portions. What's a girl to do????

Terri: Glad you had a nice day with your mom. It's nice when the whole family can get together.

Susie: Congrats! Your Boston Rob really did win in the end, didn't he? My guys just thought that was the final "hoot" of the game. He was securing his million before Jeff ever opened the vote. Perfect timing???

Oh well, gotta run. Breakfast with my cousins in the morning and then off to work I go. Love  ya bunches!

katrinabgood 05-10-2004 12:46 AM

AM-BUH!! Out of the final four, I have to say that Rob deserved to win the most. He played the best...didn't ride anyones's coattails like most of them did. Even Rupert, whom I love, didn't play the game as well. What a bunch of WHINERS!!! Lex! That blue haired, tattooed phony!!!! Acting all hurt and betrayed...what the h--- did he do??? And don't even get me going on that miserable Alicia!!!! This is precisely what p's me off about this show! The self righteous anger at the end, from all the LOSERS!!! I liked Shih Ann...even the first time around...opinionated? Yes, but intelligent. I was sorry we didn't hear more from Rob C. Okay, who else? Oh yeah...JERRI... That WAS a sound booing she got...but what she said was so stupid, who even cares that she left? Hatch spoke well...which I hate to admit, but: HE gets it! IT'S A GAME, PEOPLE!!!! THAT'S WHAT YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO DO!!!

Oh, what in the world will I do til Survivor returns in Sept???

Oh. that's right! Read Dr Phil!!!! That's just what I'm going to do right now!!

See you all tomorrow!

Kat... I would think this Dr. Phil book study and lifestyle change is going to be a "true to life" REAL SURVIVAL STORY !!! I can't imagine what all we will have to do to win. :dizzy: Make this summer break be your competition to be the BIG WINNER... or LOSER in this case. What are you willing to do to be Numero Uno.??? Hmmm... you could walk around NAKED !!! I don't remember the guy's name... but didn't he win in the first "Survivor?? I am sure there are some people here who could come up with some challenges for you too.

I am going to follow in your fine example and go read at least a couple of pages.
I have never "dreaded" reading a book so bad in my whole life. LOL
I am actually "afraid" of what is to come. I am afraid I won't have what it will take.
Okay.. I do remember Dr.Phil said to change the way I think.
I am always preaching... Positive attitude is everything !!!
He said it will be hard.. but I can do it. I have to trust him.
Okay... I am off to read.
P.S. Thin... read or not read.... We are here for you. {{{ HUGS }}}

Terri in MO 05-10-2004 07:36 AM

Good morning!

Is it me or did Amber look better all skanky on the island? She didn't even look like the same person. And neither did Rob. Much better with the mustache.

What the heck was up with Big Tom? All that anger and he couldn't even answer Rob's question. Was he trying to prove that he's stupid? He proved that with his chicken dance or whatever that was earlier on. He just needs to go back to his goats.

I don't think Amber deserved to win. She only won because she rode on Rob's coattails and he created too much anger in the jury.

And the jury proved themselves to be a bunch of losers! Except for Shii-Ann and Rupert. What did these people think? Someone has to be voted out. It has to be about strategy not about "friends". And Rob played it all the way to the end by getting in on the million one way or the other.

Jerri made a fool out of herself. Not just for what she said but for leaving the stage.

What to do now? DH said the Amazing Race starts soon.

I had a bad weekend with food. It always is when I go to mom's. That on top of PMS showed a big gain this morning when I got on the scale. Talk about :fr: But it was a jolt back into reality.

Time to get ready for work. Maybe I can get out of there before the thunderstorms hit this morning.

Have a great day!

Happy Monday!

Good morning everyone! :coffee:

I'm back after a long icky weekend :dizzy: really glad it's over. I was able to read the posts but didn't have time to reply to any - so I was lurking - being a passive observer :p

Lucky - I'm working on the South Beach right now and have lost 10 pounds since I started (about 10 days). My Gramma had that surgery & she was so sick for a long time. Yes, she lost the weight, but still was heavy, though not as heavy as she was. Only in recent years (as she's aged a lot) has she really lost weight. I've thought about having the surgery & it's a $$ thing for me as well. I also know that it's not pleasant. My mom is an RN & has taken care of people after the surgery & I don't think that I'd really want to do it after hearing their experiences. But, for some I know that it isn't bad. One thing I read in Dr. Phil last night was that you need to be accepting of yourself & your body before starting any program or it won't work. Have you read Chapter 2 yet? I had to underline that part for myself because that's what I struggle with as well. And I'm sure we're not alone here. :) Anyway, just know that everyone here is with you and that you can always get support from us :grouphug:

All you Survivor fans - I have never watched the show so I can't comment on any of your posts

2Cute - I agree that ours is the true survivor story. We are all competing against ourselves to win the battle of the bulge ;) And with the support of everyone here I think that we can all be (as everyone says here  ) be big losers!

Gotta run - hope everyone has a super day :cloud9:

BarbPA 05-10-2004 09:09 AM

Hi Gals!
Just popping in for a quickie Hello! Sorry I wasn't around much this weekend - busy, busy, busy. I'll try to get back later today to talk about Survivor and whatever else is going on.

Have a great Monday!
Barb

katrinabgood 05-10-2004 10:36 AM

Good Morning!

I spent so much time on my book thread post that I haven't much time to hang out here, much as I'd like to!

Mother's Day was pretty low key around here. My sweet dh made us breakfast...He gives the cutest cards...always the ones that have a series of things (reasons why I'm loved, or counting the ways he shows his love) that he embellishes with his words...funny stuff. guess you have to be there! He gave me a gift certificate to use at the spa, whether for a massage of a facial...my choice. He also gave me, though he said it was from the kids, a Vermont Teddy Bear, all dressed up like a gardener, with her little sun hat and watering can and flowers. Awwwww.... I spent about an hour, planting some flowers and then we took a ride down to see my parents. Friday was Dad's LAST radiation treatment! :cp: He looks great and feels good too. Thank God. My sis and her two boys were there too, so we had a nice time just sitting around, shooting the breeze.

So, it's Monday. Time to re-focus, once again. I did lose, get this, a half a pound last week!!! Woo hoo! I'll take it! Better off than on! I plan on making this a perfect week, but I'll take it one teeny step at a time. This morning, as I was making my coffee, I ate a mini muffin...then another. They're so small! (and healthy, made with whole wheat and oats and bananas and Splenda!) Then I had one with my coffee, ready to have another. I did stop myself, thinking, "Okay, enough." So I had an orange instead. I do an awful lot of mindless eating, nibbling while I'm preparing food, a bite here and a taste there. Worse still, I will read while I eat. (Even Dr Phil!) I had about 10 cashews while going over Chapter 2 before. So, today, I wrote down all my nibblings. In the greater scheme of things, they weren't bad choices, and I stopped eating instead of going on to have a sit down breakfast. (which is something I would normally do, not counting the nibbles as a meal)

Awareness is a beautiful thing. I need more!
