Geeeeeze ... this site takes such a longggg time. It did not used to. Is it slow for everyone else too or just me. ??

Okay Shay... come tell us all about you and let us get to know you better.
No time to post now.... Mary... come post a hello again. WE MISS YOU !!!
Where is Michelle ????

VermontChick 04-29-2004 06:02 PM

Yeah, i agree it's being slow. I though it was my computer at first. I don't know if they go through multiple servers (didn's some of us have access all last weekend, while others couldn't get on until tuesday???)

On a semi-diet note, i feel bloated and icky. I feel so full and i haven't eatan all my calories for the day..it's a strange feeling. Have any of you had this feeling after using diet pills? I assume that the pills make you bloated since they contain wretched ammounts of caffeine...gotta tell you though..i'm taking Dexatrim Natural with Bitter Orange and Green Tea (it's an appetite suppresent..NOT one of those products that increase your metabolism - other than the natural effects of green tea of course...)

Anyways, I'm off to watch Love Actually..I LOVE THAT MOVIE.

I think a book thread is a great idea..though here I am thinking you guys mean a FICTION thread..and not one on diet books

LuckyLadyBug 04-29-2004 07:27 PM

ME TOO - it is so slow I could scream.

BUT I have worse news:

They are predicting SNOW here Saturday!!!!!

LuckyLadyBug 04-29-2004 07:37 PM

I just watched Dr. Phil from Monday with his weight loss challange people. Oh, I want to be them!!!! They made me cry with them with joy!!!

THAT will be us!!!! Just you wait and see!!!!

Well today has been another good day for me. I got my walking done this morning and got a good workout doing yard work. We are laying bricks in the backyard to create a patio. Boy is that hard work. The bricks weigh about 25 lbs apeice and the sand weighs 50 lbs per bag. We got 3 bags of sand and 11 bricks today. Also 4 bags of mulch. Have to head back to Home Depot tomorrow for me. We figured we need at least 48 more bricks and 10 more bags of sand. I'm going to have some nice muscles by the time we are done. By the way, we is me and my mother-in-law, so I'm doing all the lifting and carrying. Food and water are still on track. I've started posting on the food tracker thread today. The site seems slower to me as well. Hopefully that gets fixed. Well gotta go for now.
Steph

ageoldie 04-29-2004 08:32 PM

I agree the site is much slower since the new server! Well I made it through the afternoon with out eating everything in sight. Why don't I feel good about that???

Kat I'm with you about not being a Dr Phil fan, but I did buy the book, haven't read much of it yet, but if you do a book thread, I'll make myself read it.

katrinabgood 04-29-2004 08:50 PM

All RIGHT, BarbG...we'll participate, but sit in the corner and make snide remarks about him!
Oh, I'm KIDDING, all you Dr Phil lovers out there! :lucky:

Steph, good for you! We're planning the same type of "workout" over here too! I have a feeling I will be doing the bulk of the work too! Come on over and give me some tips, please!

I haven't noticed the site taking any longer than before.

Okay, I have to go to Barnes & Noble to pick up my DR PHIL book. :p

see you later...

I'm here 2Cute...I just finished one mid-term exam tonight and have 2 more to do!

I could do the Atlantic City thing but would need as much advance notice as possible because I would need to put some extra money aside and if we did the overnight thing then I would need to plan for John to take a day off from work to keep the boy! I could get a half day off on Friday (I have some comp time coming) and stay over friday night. That would work best for me. I have been saving money for our disney trip and don't want to dip into that...so I would start saving extra for a weekend!

Geesh...did I just babble away there or what???

I guess i need to get some sleep so I can start working fresh tomorrow on another exam! This one is just one essay! Its for my communications class.

TTFN Michelle

Hey, leave Dr. Phil alone! He da man!

Da Ego Man!

I think Dr Phil has many very good things to say and I think he's right on in how to solve the weight problems. Deal with the emotions and make lifestyle changes. No other "diet" plans really encourage people to get to the root of the problem - and for most of us, it was emotional at some point.

HOWEVER, he is obnoxious on his show. His ego has gotten out of hand. And I cringe whenever I see Robin on the show. Is she a brainless twit or what? And she gives advice to people??????????

Dis the man but you've got to admit he does have good points.

I don't have the book either. Can I join in anyway since I watched all the shows? I can be your personal trainer!

What is WRONG with those people on Survivor? They need to boot Rob's butt all the way back to Boston. And his little girl, Toto, er Amber, too. Tom is a moron for believing that Rob would take him to the final two. They better gang up now before its too late and get rid of either Rob or Amber. I would have been one of the first to be voted off because I'd probably call them all a bunch of dumbas**s.

Poor John Stevens. Such a baby face. He just didn't have it to be a pop idol.

I worked late tonight and therefore missed my evening exercise. Too tired to walk the dog.

But I've kept food good. I talked myself down from hitting the vending machine when I was having an irritated moment at one of my staff. I asked her to set up a meeting and run the meeting, and she forgot to show up because she was out to lunch. Some days being a manager is more than my patience can handle.

The winds were so strong yesterday, our neighbor lost his bradford pear tree in front of his house. It was a big tree and it was absolutely gorgeous this spring when the blooms were on. And now it is totally gone. Just like the trunk exploded about three feet up and the whole thing laid down in his yard. He's lucky it didn't land on his house. We lost our two big trees in front two years ago in an ice storm. Really changes the look of the cul-de-sac.

Steph - I did one of those landscape projects with 150 big windsor stones. That cured me of doing landscape projects.

Lucky - Oh YUCK, snow! DH and I will be PO'd if the sun isn't out this weekend because we want to fish. We'd really be PO'd if it snowed.

Meliss- Never took diet pills so no help here.

Kat - Great news about the dads!!!

Oh yes, still Thursday, so I'm thankful for.....
The life that God has given me. Even though it seems that it has been a tough life in that nothing has come easy. But I'm also thankful that he cares enough to test me and make me stronger. I'm thankful that my family, and DH's, is not totally insane. They could be worse. I'm thankful that I have a good paying job even though some days I really hate it. I'm thankful for my DH that loves me for who I am but yet doesn't try to keep me the way I am. And I'm thankful for all my friends here.

I'm off to watch TV in the bed. Have a great night!

thinthinker 04-29-2004 09:54 PM

Hi all! It's nice to see some of the old faces peeking in again along with the new. Glad to see that Spring is bringing you all out of hiding.

I went and sat with my girlfriend's mom today. Loooonnnnnggggg day. She's so confused sometimes. It's really heartbreaking.

I have stayed up until 3:00 AM for the past two nights so I still haven't really recouperated from the long drive of this weekend. I do believe I'll hit the hay at 11:00 tonight and see if I can get some REAL sleep.

My best friend and I are going to the Women's Expo tomorrow. She had called me before I left for OK last week and asked if I had seen the advertisements. I hadn't so I'm glad she called. We will spend the better part of the day there. For those of you who have never heard of them or haven't gone they are really cool. It's a bunch of booths that are all "women" related; health screenings, stuff for sale, cooking stuff, several stages of presentations (fashion shows, etc.) and then one of the major supermarkets is usually a sponsor so their vendors set up a free sampling area where there's usually soy milk, and pop, and apples, pears, sausage and chicken samples, etc. It really makes for a fun day of shopping, looking and just enjoying being a woman. :D

I'm going to run. Survivor was a hoot. I think "someone" (inserted in case some of you haven't seen the show yet) offered themselves up, what do you think?

Love  you bunches.

Hi there

I am trying once again, I used to belong to this site oh about 2 years ago. I see that you all have threads going, and I see it is about time to start another continuance so I decided to just post my own until that one gets started

A bit about myself....

My name is Shay, I am 23, married with two lovely daughters ( 5yrs and 7 months) I live in WA and have been battling weight for as long as I can remember. My all time highest was while pregnant with my youngest, I topped out at 383. I haven't done any sort of dieting since September 03 when I gave birth. I went to the dr yesterday expecting to be pointed into the surgery direction, but to my surprise, I am 10 lbs LIGHTER than when I got preg!! So my current is 339, with very little effort put into that loss. I am newly motivated in a way that I have never been. I am starting to see the end result, starting to be excited when I see "little" clothes that I want to wear, starting to be able to see myself as thin!! I think this is a really good sign.

I am currently on my period, so I am not going to "start" anything yet, Sunday is the big day. Just wanted to pop in and say Hi

LuckyLadyBug 04-29-2004 10:20 PM

Grrrrr two of my aunts just called me. Two of our cousins from Sweden are coming Sunday to visit us and they wondered if I could do a lunch for everyone so we could all celebrate my Dad's birthday - which isn't really until May 8th.

Good grief - entertain foreign relatives on a two day notice, one of which I will spend at work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am getting hyper! :dizzy:

Okay, a good nights sleep and maybe this will look easier!   :?:

katrinabgood 04-29-2004 11:14 PM

I love this sentiment:
Quote:

I'm thankful that my family, and DH's, is not totally insane.
 Totally being the key word, right? I know.

Lucky, Great new quote under your signature:
You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf!
how true, how true.

Another quote from Terri:
Quote:

Dis the man but you've got to admit he does have good points
All right...I will give you that. I got the book, read maybe the first three pages and got interrupted. Good stuff so far. He's still obnoxious, but at least I don't have to listen to him.

Okay, Seinfeld is on...must go snuggle with my honey and watch for the umpteenth time whatever episode is on! Love it!

Okay ladies... I started the new Book Study thread. I asked Thin to put a sticky on it but don't know if it is necessary. :?: I changed the first study to be the book jacket and acknowledgement. We will start Chapter one on Sunday. Everyone feel free to start new week threads as well as post as often as you want too.

My sister seemed in better spirits today. :) She said she is really sore though.
She goes in for her first follow-up Monday. I was going to take her but my car is scheduled for the shop that day.

Terri... I think you would make us a great personal trainer.
You can still learn a lot from everyone sharing... but just remember those are our opinions and DrPhils advice is probably better. LOL

kat... and all other NON Dr Phil fans.... you can take the book cover off or turn it inside out and you won't have to look at his face daily. LOL I think he is an ego maniac too... but I know he has some good techinques we can all learn from.

Lucky... take a deep breath !!! You will do just fine. It does not have to be perfect. They want to see you... not your perfectionism. LOL

Thin... sounds like a fun day ahead for you. I am proud of you for getting to bed earlier tonight.

HI MICHELLE !!! I am so glad you are still here. :D I hope you aren't taking any summer courses so we get to see more of you.

Barb.g... guess you put your foot in your mouth... You have to read Dr Phils book now... we have it in writing. I am sure we will all learn a lot.

Steph... good to see you posting again. Sounds like you are one busy woman.

Missmeliss... get those fingers typing and share your thoughts on our book study thread.

Okay.. I hope I hit everyone who posted on this thread. :crossed:
With this book study thread my individual replies will have to suffer. Only so many hours in a day. I just feel my top priority should be me studing this book over gossip about my life. LOL

I have one more Thankful Thursday to post even though it is officially Fun Friday.
My sister is only 5 years older than me... and I am thankful I get another chance to change my future. I could be in her shoes in 5 years if I don't get my act together. I am very thankful I get to TRY AGAIN.... but this time with a new committment. :smug:
