Ooooklahoma where the winds come sweeping down the plain...
HOWDY YA'll !!!!! I can't speak for everyone else... but I had a WONDERFUL TIME !!!!! EVERYONE IS even nicer than they are on line. I laughed a ton  and unfortunately ate a ton too. :o The two Barbs were the first to arrive... even before me. :o LOL I had gotten home very late Thursday night and wasn't able to get there until 4pm Friday. (long story) Geri and Susie arrived about 4:30 and it felt like we had known each other our whole lives. :D We waited on Syn to arrive about 7:30 before going out to eat. We got back to hotel about 10:00-10:30 and Terri had just arrived from Missouri. As Thin informed ya'll (lol) ... we were up until 2:30 gabbing :gossip: and laughing  and gabbing some more. :gossip: It was GREAT !!! Some of us told more than we should have.... Like ME!!! :o  As much as we all had a GREAT TIME...one thing was in common for all of us.... WE WISHED YOU WERE HERE WITH US !!!!  We had great suites that had a living room large enough for us all to sit and feel comfortable... some of us in our pj's. It was like a big ole slumber party. :D We agreed to meet for breakfast Sat morning and then headed out to my house. I was in a bridal shower mode so I had more games to play. The first was called "Pretty as a Picture".... I had a bulletin board with four groups of photos. First group were all of our photos as a toddler... about 2 years old.... Second group were our photos from grade school..... Third group were teenagers.. mainly High school graduation photos... Fourth group were wedding photos. NO NAMES were on any of the photos. We all had to guess whose photos belonged to who. It was harder than you think... well ... except for Terri... she knew ALL OF THEM !!!! ( I even made the board up and I missed 5.) Susie knew all of the grade schoolers... I think ?? Or was high school ?? (Gee.. wonder if we will see this elsewhere soon too? LOL) We played another game called 7 CHICKS BINGO. It was a get to know each other game. I learned something new about everyone. Like BarbPA was born in another country... and Barb.g was born in the same month I was. I also learned that "We All LIE" on our drivers license about how much we weigh.  :lol3: So much about that. We sat and gabbed some more :gossip: while nibbling on fruit before heading out for dinner at PF Changs. There we kept hunting for a guy for Lucky !!!! We found a few ... we figured since we couldn't find a 40 yr old... we got a couple of 20's. Will send you their pics soon Lucky. ;) Speaking of pics.... Barb took a bunch... but a few of us don't want ours posted on an open forum so don't be surprised when there are only 4 chicks in them. LOL We just decided to let each person be responsible for distribution of their own photos. After dinner we did a little gambling and several won ... some BIG TIME!!! Syn won so much she bought us all treats. :T But I will let her have the joy of telling you her good news. $$$$$ Then we all met back at the hotel for another gab session. :gossip: You would think we would get gabbed out... but nope.  We just got too tired to stay up any longer and called it a night about midnight. (Well most of us did) A couple stayed up until 3am AGAIN. Sunday everyone headed for home... but not before agreeing to do this AGAIN ... next year... in MICHIGAN !!!! So start saving that money ladies.... TRUST ME ... you won't want to miss it again. I feel so much closer to everyone. I am soooo happy they all came and brightened my life !!! :sunny: Okay... I will end it there. That is a pretty good update I think. In short ... YOU MISSED A GREAT TIME !!! But ... mark your calendar for next years gathering in Michigan. :D OH... I want to welcome all of the newcomers. WELCOME !! Mark your calendars now too.. by then you will be family here too. :) |
LUCKY ... How could you possibly think we could forget you. ??!!
You were a major topic of conversations. We did not forget all of you back here in 3fc... we were just too busy having FUN to post :D LOL Kat... you and LUCKy did a great job keeping everything going.. thanks... but next year you two better be in MICHIGAN and not here posting. :drill: Pat , MissMeliss, Joanne, Andria ...thanks for wishing us well in OKLA. You guys start collecting that change so you too can come to the next weekend gathering. steph.. welcome back !!! You have been missed !!! RalphMarie... welcome to our thread. Post often and let us get to know you. and SUSIE.... quote: Quote:
I thought you said you LOVED those Lamb Fries. Which did you mean... OKLA food is not great.. or your food choices are not great. Inquisitive minds want to know. Okay... it is 2:30am so I am off to bed. I think my body and mind thinks it is still at the Spring Fling. LOL |
Thanks for the update, 2Cute.
I am happy you all had such a great time. We missed your posts, though. I think we should give ALL of you Southeners a treat and have a WINTER Fling!!!! Off for some breakfast and :coffee: I also need to find a jar tonight to put my money in!!!! Hmmmm WHEN will those 2 20's arrive? I will need to get rested up...very rested up!!! ;) |
Good morning ladies!
Boy was I disappointed to get home from OK to find the forum down. It wasn't up for me until this morning. I had a great time meeting everyone. It is so nice to be able to not only put the face to the words but the whole person. It did feel like we knew each other but yet learned more. We owe 2Cute a huge thank you for all her hard work to find such a great location and all the fun activities. Thank you!!!! I do admit there was too much good food!! I got on the scale this morning and up a bit. So I have my work cut out for me before WI this next Saturday. DH and I talked on the way home about next years Fling in Michigan. I want to have achieved a total loss of 50 pounds. That's another 25 to lose this year. Doesn't sound unreasonable but for me, being a slow loser, that will be a good challenge. Since its Motivation Monday! I'm encouraging everyone to find your focus for this day. Make a goal for today to get some exercise and get rid of the junk food. For all of you who are planning on next year's Fling, I encourage you to join me in making a goal and let's work towards achieving that. We need to be inspiring one another, yelling at one another or snatching the food away so that we get back on road of better health. 2Cute - I'm humbled that I was an inspiration but I'm here to cheer you on to get to that goal for September. I am so envious of that pool. Now, get your butt in it! Lucky - I'm not sure that the guys at PF Changs weren't jailbait!!! Cute but young! Syn - You asked about how to keep each other motivated so that we see less of each other next year? Get your butt in here and post. :o Barb.G - How was the flight home? Keep Oxycising!! I need to get a few bills paid and then get to work. Have a great day! |
Just a quick drive-by post to let everyone know I got back fine, and my cats missed me. (I think DH had too much fun to miss me) I'll post more tonight!
|
Quote:
I also have to get into my head and figure out why I do this to myself. SO, I plan to start reading Dr. Phil and journaling about it AND finding a "first call for help". Of course I could get in a lot of exercise if those 2 20's show up you were scouting out for me in Oklahoma. Do they have accents????? |
Hi Everyone!
I am home safe and sound after a WONDERFUL weekend in OK! I was bummed to find the board down so I couldn't post any pics last night. Now I am busy catching up on two days of missed work. I'll be back tonight with pictures and more chit-chat. :) Barb |
Just wanted to pop in and say hi. - Mistie
|
Lucky... I think you need to go take a COLD SHOWER !!!
See my quote below.... Quote:
I promised you a DATE if you came to OKLAHOMA ... you did not come so you get the boobie prize... PICTURES. Terri.. I am following you and Barbara's prime example. I am getting SERIOUS about this weight loss !!! You both have lost and are DOING not just wishing. :bravo: I know many others are doing too... but those two really helped inspire me this weekend. I am looking at their "before" photos and inspired by their NOW. GREAT WORK !! Mistie... hello .... pop back in and share some more. I hope you start saving money too so we can meet you next year too. Washington is a long way to travel so start today. Hope all of the newcomers come and join in on the fun. Maybe we should all pay ourselves for the pounds we lose between now and then. :D BEtter yet... every time I don't buy a concrete I will put that $3 in the Michigan kitty. Barb.g ... thank you for letting us know you got home safe and sound. I can't wait to hear about hubby's adventures while you were gone. Okay lady... Syn ... did you make it home okay?? They are waiting to hear about your casino adventure on Sunday. I know Thin and Susie are still on the road. Drive safely ladies. |
Hi ladies.
First, I'm very glad to see that everyone had a good time in OK over the weekend. I'm way to shy in person to go to something like that. I'm quite a wall flower until I really get to know people. I think that's another reason I don't post a lot here, because I still don't feel like I know people very well. As always I'm proud of everyone for continuing the weight loss fight and for always having something positive that they've acheived, even if they haven't lost lbs. Just sticking with it is 1/2 the battle in my opinion. As for me, I lost another 3 lbs last week making my total lost since mid January 43.5 lbs. I want to be under 300 by the end of May and it looks like I will be. Yippee!!! As always I'm shocked that I'm sticking with it and that it's working for me. I guess it was just my time and I found exactly the right plan for me. Talk to you all soon. |

Yes...please clarify...I was wondering about that!
NO TIME to post, just wanted to say it sounds like it was a WONDERFUL weekend and I'm most envious! Can't wait to hear more and see pix! Off to baseball practice... |
Concrete is Yummy!!!! (Way too much in my Tummy!)
:moo: :ink: :hun: :eating2: Ingrid -- Congrats on your continued success!!! :goodscale I think you'd surprise yourself if you got together with us!! I am normally a shy person ---- ask the gals this weekend if they could tell! |
Howdy....I made it back home about 3:00 this morning....I am pretty tired today and just know I am going to go to bed early tonite!! Being a night owl for 3 nights in a row is about all I can handle...lol It was a WONDERFUL Spring Fling...2cute was every bit as gracious a "hostess" as one could ever wish for!!! THANK YOU 2Cute!! All attending were every bit as warm, funny, and as slightly nutz as I had hoped for...It was great to put faces and names together in real life!!
We spent about a half an hour at the casino on Saturday and I was lucky enough to make a profit of $112.00 pm quarter slot machines....so I treated all my chickies and myself to concretes!! lol An excellent frozen yogurt treat! Well, then yesterday ( Sun) I had about 1.5 hours to kill before my ride could meet me, so 2cute took me back to the casino...I played quarter slots on the winnings from the day before and added another $80.00 to my winnings....then I went to the DOLLAR ( only do that when I an using winnings) slots....I hit 3 -7's and won an additional $ 300.00 + a bit more...so I quit, and sat outside waiting for 2cute...I knew better than to keep on trying to beat the odds!!! SO now I pretty much have my bankroll for next years Spring Fling! For those who were at the Spring Fling...please note!! I did NOT have 2 men ;) hitting on me Saturday at the Casino ...your eyes were decieving you!!And no one bothered me on Sunday...lol lol  Two year old Laura is here today, and I am thankful she is sleeping...I am going to try and nap for a bit when I get off of here.... Welcome Newbies...and don't believe everything you hear about me and a boyfriend...he is my friend, and he is boy (must have male genitals.)..since he has a moustache!! lol Other than that I haven't seen him for 30 + years...lol I admit I am "twiterpatted" meaning I get all idiotic and tickled when I think of or mention him I guess..lol For those who don't know it; I am coming out of a depression ( meaning I have more good days than bad ones) I got divorced after a a 38 yr marriage , and "my friend "has been a widower for about 1.5 years....we re connected via email and have been writing and phoneing each other A LOT since Feb. Scares me to death, to be in such a vunerable state of emotional twittering!!!! Can't be a real BF you haven't seen each other in 30 years...but I do have one heck of an email and phone buddy!!!Most joy and delight I have experienced in a relationship in many many years! And yes, go ahead and pick on me about it , I deserve it!! ha ha ha I hope everyone has arrived home safely from OK... I would write more , and will later..but my eyes are closing.:tired: ..I need a Power Nap before the urchin child wakes up and expects Grandma R to be cheerful!! Until Next Time...... |

Hi gals,
I've been reading your posts and its wonderful that you got the chance to get together, sounds like some long friendships are forming here. Syn, just wanted to say "good for you" on the "friend",... stranger things have happened, took me 27 years to find my lost love again and now we are married. I NEVER forgot him. Wanted to say that I am switching to lowfat from atkins and have given myself a week off of any plan to get the currant food out of the house then will shop for my new woe. I have been eating carbs and low carbs..fat and low no fat ...pretty much whatever I wanted that was already in the house and just had to jump on the scales today to view the damage....and I have gained.....NOT ONE FREAKING POUND!!!! WWHHEEWW!!!! But I should be getting my book any day now and will go shop and I'm looking forward to losing again...i love the low fat way. RM |
I am here to report I just got off my "huge *** green ball". I didn't fall off even once!!!! :cb: I did only the "beginner" moves and will stick with them for awhile until I feel stronger. I need to build up some muscle because even though I didn't fall off the ball, when I took the garbage out I did fall off my shoe!
Maybe I should stick to :kickcan: I am cooking ground turkey on my George and then I have to start reading my Dr. Phil book again. I have to fix my head which will be a HUGE job!!!! I also have to get my coins in a jar. I think I will have to come up with more ways to save some money than just coins since I rarely have any! :?: Will check in later to see if there are any pictures!! |
Hi
Syn, I just had to comment that it is a delight seeing the "twitterpatedness" in your posts! It is a far cry from the "down in the dumps" (and deservedly so) posts PRE-email/phone friendship!!! No matter where this relationship leads, it's wonderful to see what it's doing for you right now.
Homework calls, I'm supposed to be looking up a map...I guess I got sidetracked! |
hi ladies
just coming off 5 days of work, i only work part time i like my next stint best 2 off 2 on 2 off 1on 2 off.
good to see everyone had a good trip. i was thinking of you. ingrid- i know what you mean. i am shy too and am amazed at myself for joining this forum.. syn- just enjoy this relationship and way to go at casino and knowing when to quit. lucky-that big *** ball sounds like quite a challenge. well got tons of wash just waiting, did go to a wedding this weekend, guess they can make me cry. catch ya later. pat |
There were two things we talked about in OK that I checked on and was going to report on tonight, but to save me I can only remember 1 of them. The drink I was talking about is called Slim-Lite. You can find info on it at www.slim-lite.com
I do want to tell you gals that are worried about money for next year that this was the cheapest trip I've ever been on. The way we shared a suite made out room less that 100 for both nights. We paid our own supper Friday night, and Saturday we went to a place that served food "family style" so we shared, and divided the total between us. The only other money we spent was at the Casino. We would have had to buy our own "concrete" but Syn was super nice and paid for all of them with her gambling money! If you start looking in advance or use something like Hotwire, you can get very reasonable air fare. I personally didn't think we do so bad in the food department. We may have gone overboard on breakfast It was FREE you have to get your moneys worth!!! But the rest of the time I think everyone was pretty sensible. Even thought we didn't spend a lot of time talking about dieting and losing weight I have come back with a new determination to really get serious and get some of this weight off before next year. I agree with Terri that we should make a goal. I have decided on losing at least 50 pounds by this time next year. It is only 1 pound a week and that should be do-able. I have started today on my prepared food and am eating a balanced 1600 calories a day. I will continue with my current walking/water aerobic schedule and really try to get back in the hang of Oxycise regularly. Just one more quick story and I'm outta here. DH picked me up at the airport and we went straight to church. As I was going in someone asked me about my trip and as I was talking about it someone else came up. She asked what I did and I told here I had been in OK with a group of women who I met on the internet. She said she had heard of people doing that, but I was the first person she actually knew who would have the nerve to do it! |
Just dropping in to say that today was definitely BACK OP! I exercised this morning and kept my food to a 25 point day. I haven't passed out from hunger either.
DH and I are contemplating quitting going to official WW meetings and putting the money aside for a trip next spring. I am committed to making that additional 25 pounds off. However, why do I have to pay someone to lose weight? We discussed doing official WI's at home every other Saturday and keeping two solid OP weeks until WI. After WI, then the weekend is a relaxed weekend before going back OP on Monday morning for another two weeks. Does anyone know if you can buy their products (I love the smoothie and bars) without being a member? Or does anyone make a smoothie at home that is good? I like to do the chocolate WW smoothie with milk and peanut butter for breakfast. It tastes good and keeps me satisfied until lunch. I still haven't decided. I am so close to my WW 10% goal and part of me doesn't want to miss that. But then again, why do i have to pay someone else to get a 10% reward? Lucky - :bravo: for not falling off! Also for taking steps to change your way of thinking. Set your goals smaller! Saying your going to exercise every day is a tough goal to live up to. Set a goal for one day at a time. This is a lifestyle change and we have to change our brains for it to stick. Don't give up! Barb.G & 2Cute - Okay now, the concretes were a bit over the top point-wise!!! But, oh so yummy. :T I'm so thrilled to see renewed enthusiasm. We've got to help keep each other motivated so that we can feel even better next year. Steph - :bravo: for your loss. That is awesome! RM - Welcome to the group! Michelle - Good to see you again! Kat - You make a heckuva drill sargeant! Been biking? I've got on my list of things to do this week to get the bike down and accessible. I probably won't be able to get up the hill out of the cul-de-sac! :D Ingrid - :bravo: :bravo: You've done awesome this year. Don't worry about shyness around this group. I am a very quiet person around people I don't know well but felt right at home. Start saving your money and join us anyway! Syn - Twitterpated, indeed. But you deserve it. ;) :spin: Thin and Susie - Hope you had a good trip home! Hello to Crystal, Lisa, Pat, Joeanne, Andria, Mistie and everyone else! |
Good morning!
Wow, two posts in a row. Anyone catch Dr. Phil yesterday? The Weight-Loss challenge had a body challenge. They have done great. My goal was to get up early enough to do two pilates DVD workouts. I did it! And feel great for having worked all the back and leg muscles. Here's a Dr Philism that is so real and true: Make today a changing day. |
Wow, it looks like i have some catching up to do!! i'm headed for work at the moment (and to take my cat to the groomer to have her butt shaved) - but i will be back tonight to post...i tried coming on ALL WEEKEND..i tried yesterday at midnight right before bed and couldn't get on..which is why i'm baffled at the TWO PAGES of activity i already missed!!!
i'm so glad you guys sound like you had a blast. we want pics!!! can they be emailed instead of posted on the forum? |
I don't have much time, leaving for water aerobics, but while I was thinking about it, I wanted to post the other thing I couldn't remember last night.
The name of my SPAM program is Norton Anti-Spam. I bought it at CompUSA and it was about 30.00 but worth a lot more. I sorta had to force down my breakfast. It was an eggwhite omlet with tons of green/red/yellow peppers and although I know they are good for you, the eggwhite had no taste, and the peppers too much for breakfast. Yesterdays ham frittia was much better. Can't wait to see what tomorrow will bring. Lunch today is turkey salad. It looks really good. Till Later |

I have exercised two days in a row but today was already a challenge!!!! Have any of you done "mind" searching about your weight? Dr. Phil's book is an example. I can fly through all the questions - come up with some darn good anwers but - - - it still doesn't bring about change. I just think 'yep, that's why I overeat' but I don't have any feeling with it. I don't know if I am explaining this very well - but I don't think without some emotion I won't change. I know in other things I have to talk to a friend and then they seem to zero in on my "core emotional issue" immediately. Anyway, all of this was to see if anyone else had this problem and to confess why this is difficult for me. |
Good Morning Gals! :sunny:
I had great intentions last night of posting pics and replies but couldn't get into the boards from home. Said the site was still down? Was it down last night or was it my computer???? I have to dig into some work, but I will try to post a little something before I go....keep and eye out for some smiling faces! :p Barb |
Ok, there you go...who will be the first to find the pictures???
;) Bringing over Michelle's post that ended up on the last thread.... Quote:
Gotta work, be back later! |
:sunny: Good morning ladies! What a treat it has been to read all the posts and to know that there are great gals :spin: out there who are struggling with some of the same issues. And what a great place to be able to connect with people! :thanks: to you all for the warm welcome!
LuckyLadyBug I know exactly what you mean. I know why I overeat, I know the causes and the effects, but I, too, don't seem to have any emotion about it. That is, :( until I'm out of breath chasing my son or I get tired just working outside in our yard. Don't have any answer, just know that I understand. I ordered the Dr. Phil book last week, but it hasn't come yet. Is it worth reading?? I had an okay weekend. We worked outside in our yard - :o - and I actually wasn't as tired or sore as I thought I'd be! We hand shoveled a yard of black dirt onto our strawberry patch and planted about 50 plants. Then we planted two apple trees and four lilacs! Was a lot of work but will be nice when all done. I spent WAY TOO MUCH money at the nursery buying stuff for the garden, but I'm glad I did :) I think that it's :cb: awesome that some of you were able to get together. What a treat for you! :bravo: Thanks again for such a warm welcome! I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone! Lisa Lisa |
Glad to see everyone back safe and sound. Sounds like a great time was had by all. Great pictures! Can't wait to see more. I am doing so well this time around. My first goal is to lose 30 lbs by July 10. That is when I go on vacation. I've already lost 8, so I now have 11 weeks to lose 22 more lbs. Very do-able. Hope everyone has a great day.
Steph |
BarbPA THANKS for the pics. You all look SO good together!!!!!
|
Nice pictures, Thanks Barb!!!
I just got back from an interview for a new position at the hospital....department secretary for Staff Development. I've been doing what I've been doing for sooooo long that I am just so hopelessly underqualified (computer-wise) that the interview just turned into a nice chat with someone I hadn't seen in a while! She did let me know that there are computer courses available at the hospital, for free...I think that I will have to avail myself of their services! I HAVE TO GET OFF THE NIGHT SHIFT!!! Steph! Great loss there! Keep it up, miss! Glad to see you posting again~~You too, Michelle~~you'll have to join us for our 'East Coast get together!' Hey! Who's up for Atlantic City? How far is that for you PA chicks? Think about it. Meliss...I have been enjoying that website (milk and cookies) and sharing it ever since you posted it and disappeared! I was unable to get to this site for most of the weekend, but there were spurts where I could get on and saw that others were posting away! I guess all is well now with the new server. Barbg... Are you on a pre-selected food plan? Did I miss something? Lisa, your plantings sound lovely. I want lilac bushes too! My favorite! Terri, you are so motivated and motivat-ING! You would make a great WW leader! I make a smoothie with chocolate whey protein powder, 1/2 frozen banana, 1 T peanut butter and 8oz skim milk or soy milk...good stuff! Ingrid, congrats on your loss too! You are really doing well! Okay, my lovelies...I need get my big ol' self outside, it's gorgeous today! I think I'm going to hop on my bike today, it's a great day for a ride. later, dudes.... |
I can do Atlantic City :-D
