Good morning,
I just subscribed this morning and am looking for some support in my journey. I'm a sahm/daycare provider - and I don't have a lot of time to devot to myself! You'd think that with all the running after the kids that I do it'd be easy to drop the pounds. BUT - I'm an emotional eater & when I feel stressed, in the mouth it all goes! I'm at the highest weight I've ever been. I am tired all the time, stressed, feel bad about myself, and now my knees have been hurting. I want to change things, but seem to lack motiviation. We also live in a very rural community so a decent health club is not an option - I wish it were. Any comments, suggestions, encouragements would be awesome! I am feeling quite alone right now and extremely discouraged. :( |

welcome -- have you decided on a certain diet? i am a long time sufferer of severe osteoarthritis in my knees -- if your knees have just started hurting, maybe there is minimal damage done -- that means you can still turn it around -- do you have access to a swimming pool? maybe water aerobics is an option for you good luck to you and i wish you well on your journey. |
I'm hoping that I will be able to avoid any problems by starting a program. My grandmother was at her highest weight 400+lbs (many, many yrs ago) and she had gastric bypass surgery in the 1970's. But, the damage to her knees was already done. Now in the most recent years she's had severe trouble with her back. Those are the problems that I want to avoid!
I don't have easy access to a swimming pool year round. The nearest indoor pool is about 20 miles away. Our small town has an outdoor pool, but being in Minnesota it's only open about 12 weeks in the summer. They do have water aerobics available then, but only on a short term basis. So glad to hear from you! Lisa |
