EEEEEKKKK!!!!!!!! I am soooooo tired of losing my post !!!!!
I keep making the mistake of hitting "enter" twice or more when I mean to hit "backspace" and it always deletes my post. I will try to reconstruct most of it... but no promises... I am tired of writing... and even MORE tired of losing it. LOL

Gee... I can't even remember what I wrote for the opening paragraph before replies. Darn this frustrates me.

I do remember my first reply was to WELCOME Kimmber !!!! WELCOME !!
Teenager/toddler.... you must be one busy woman. LOL
We love having newcomers... WELCOME !!!!

Barb... thanks for posting "The Trio" photo again. It is such a cool photo of each of you... and your individual photo is as lovely as ever. Thanks again.
I am not worried about the bridesmaids dresses not coming in on time... I am more curious as to what they will even look like. ???? We found a dress we really liked but was in the wrong color. We went out on a limb and ordered our color... sight unseen. There is complimentary embroidery on the front and we have no idea what colors those are. The dress we saw had very pretty colors that complimented the blue dress. Our dresses are amethyst (dark purple) and we have no idea what color the embroidery is. I am just very anxious. We have asked for a sample... but they don't do "ordered samples" .... gee... you would think that would not be a special order. Grrr
YOu have to know me... to know how "OUT OF THE NORM " for me to do.
I NEVER buy anything site unseen. But there is a longgggger story to go along with this .. I won't bore you with any more details. LOL

I cannot tell you how many times I have wished this was a quick wedding and no time to search for every little detail. Such as just go to a bakery and pick a cake... simple.
ME... I go to a dozen bakeries and compare, compare, compare. This could be a MUCH SIMPLIER process.... but I don't do anything simple. LOL

I am glad your DH finally called... don't you just want to kill them sometimes. LOL
Syn... I am so happy your letter came back to you. :) How cool that he spent so much time to reply to you and ask for your snail mail too. :cp: I could hear the joy in your post. :)
Terri... I bet your coworker was scared to death sliding towards you. :yikes:
I saw on the news you got more snow and bad weather than us.
I will be in KC area the weekend of Sept 25th ... hopefully we can have lunch or something. :crossed:

Stephanie...It sounds like you had a LOT of fun shopping with your DD.
She is starting mighty young needing a new pair of shoes for each outfit. LOL Did she learn this from her mother. ;)

Well .. I am NOT doing well with my food... like all of you. :(
(I had to come back and edit that last statement. LOL It sounded like all of you weren't doing good... and that is NOT what I meant. :o I meant all of your WERE doing good. )
I seem to go up / down/ up / down/up the same 5lbs. GRrrrr
I have this wedding... the Spring Fling ... I should be motivated !!!!!
I did good today... but the scale is showing from what I ate yesterday. :^:

I WILL GET MY ACT TOGETHER !!!!!

I am babysitting again tomorrow. They will arrive early and stay late so I don't know how much I will be here. But remember ladies... it will be FUN FRIDAY ... do something fun for yourself.

katrinabgood 02-06-2004 06:59 AM

Good Morning All!

I'm getting in here and getting all my reading and posting done NOW, so I can move on to all the other stuff that needs to be done today.

First of all...Weigh-in! I lost another lb, for an official Phase 1 total of 8 lbs off! :cp: I'm very happy with this loss, and will take a loss anyway I can get one, but deep down, it just pi$$es me off that I have to lose these pounds AGAIN, after having lost them already! Amazing how easily they are found, after being lost!

No matter...I'm not dwelling on negative thoughts here. Moving forward, I can concentrate on Phase 2. In this phase, I can add ONE fruit and ONE starch to my daily menu. I'm being very careful to figure out the most opportune time to do this. I am going to SO enjoy my apple or my pear or my orange...or whatever it may be!! :T I just don't want to have it NOW, yes i do and then be done for the day...I think I'll wait until later in the day and have it for one of my snacks.

Having re-read all that, I had to laugh. I don't want to become all obsessive about my food and think about it all day long...I just want to be able to eat my meals and move on. Is that what skinny people do?

"What do the skinny folk do?
To help them escape when they're blue?"

From Camelot? Get it? No matter, I'm my own best audience...:encore:

Anyway...on to the business at hand...replies...

Barb! I'm so glad hubby is home safe and sound. My imagination would have been running wild!! After I smothered him with hugs and kisses, I would have smacked him upside the head with the forgotten cell phone! :stars: My dad is doing very well, thank you for asking. He hasn't started radiation yet, but he's home, doing his speech therapy, eating all the mushy stuff Mom prepares him and is actually gaining weight. They were all excited cuz he's UP to 154! As I long for the day when I'm DOWN to that number...Oh, the irony.
How is your dad doing? I hope just as well.

2cute...I figured out why I keep losing my posts...I think. If I open up 3fc from my email notification and try to reply from there, I'm asked to log in, which then deletes my post. When I come in to the site by clicking on "favorites," I'm already logged in from that point and don't have to worry about losing my words. Of course, I HAVE just hit the wrong key too, which obliterates everything. Have fun with the grandkids today!

Hi kimmber! Welcome!

Terri...Nice neighbors there! Is Doug one of the shunned neighbors too? Aren't people strange? I love my 4wd too, but the other bozos on the road sure make driving challenging! I'm glad you're okay! BTW...I can't wait for the day I can ride my bike again!! Come on, we'll take a virtual ride together: It's a Spring day...all the snow is gone...it's cool and breezy...there's a hint of green on the trees...a bright blue sky overhead...the crocuses and daffodils are just opening up...birdies are chirping...as we pedal along a long and winding bike trail, the breeze in our faces smells of new life...that which surrounds us, and our own...as we embark upon this journey to good health and happiness...together

I think that was my equivalent of 2cute's lap and rocking chair! Who else has a virtual scenario to share?? That was fun.

See? This is why I don't always do replies...I get off on a tangent and it takes me too long! I must press on...

Syn! Your story brought such a smile to my face! :D You go girl!

Stephanie...Barb asked my exact question...too many numbers there for me to figure out...looks like you weigh more in church, though! :o BTW...wait and see how many pairs of shoes they want when they hit their teens! (More expensive ones too!) At least then you can send 'em out to get a job to buy their own!

Mary...here we are! Where are YOU?

Audrey...Congrats on 4.5 off! :cp: You are in good company!

Okay...this is where I get off...I've been here over an hour...I almost just lost this...good thing I copied my post before I went back to check the last thread! If I missed you, it wasn't intentional...just get your butts in here and post! So I don't have to hop back to previous threads!

I think I'm going to start a thread to keep track of my daily food. I want to journal, but I end up forgetting where I put the :censored: journal, lose interest, :blah: you know. This way, I can come here, post my food, and just add to it during the day. Maybe having others review my food intake will help to keep me on the up and up too. One can hope.

Feel free to join me!

Okay... this post is really over. <whew> Hey! I hear that collective sigh of relief!

Have a FUN Friday, all!

Terri in MO 02-06-2004 07:39 AM

Good morning!

What wonderful, long, rambling posts to read this morning. I love it! And I really loved the virtual bike ride. I needed that this morning. Looks like we're to get a little more snow today and it won't be melting off for a week or more. I did hear this morning that this is the worst snow our area has gotten in 11 years. Too bad I have to go to work.

DH gets to stay home again today. Schools have been closed 3 days this week. He and the dog will be bums today. On second thought, me going to work might be a good thing instead of being housebound with DH and the dog.

Kat - Yes, Doug is shunned too. We talked about it while we were shoveling. The neighbor on the other side of him is the one with the snowblower. He cleans his own driveway, then the sidewalks all the way up to both of his neighbor's drive - but doesn't help either one with their drive. But then again, this is the same guy that when Bear and I walk by, will turn his back as we walk within 10 feet of him. Nice. Sorry for that rant! :bravo: on another pound gone! Enjoy that fruit! We had a little bit of mashed potatoes last night. I mentioned to DH how much more wonderful the potatoes, or a tortilla, or corn tastes now that we have significantly reduced the quantity of starchy foods we eat. All the more special. Enjoy!

Barb - Thanks for reposting the pics. What a relief that your DH is okay. I was sad too that Rudy was voted off. Although, he was a lot quieter this show and didn't seem to be physically up to it. 75 is a bit old to be doing that grueling of work. Jenna is just unlikeable this time around.

2Cute - Get your food back in line. :drill: You can do this. You WANT to do this. Don't let yourself get derailed from what you want most. Remember, you want that fun person freed to do all the physical things she longs to do. Is exercise on the agenda for April 23?? :D Take care of yourself!

Kimmber - Welcome to the group. Glad to see you made your way over!

Stephanie - The clothes and shoe gene must be part of our DNA! How fun to be shopping for summer clothes.

Everyone else, have a great Friday!

chequitagirl 02-06-2004 10:09 AM

CONGRATS!!!!!!! Kat on the loss. keep up the good work.

kimmber72 02-06-2004 11:27 AM

YAY :cheer: Kat 8 lbs gone congrats keep up the good work. And congrats to Audrey for her 4.5lbs loss also.

Determined thanks for the invite to this thread its great.

Oh yes the bike ride :sunny: sounds wonderful

As for me just getting a little house work done this morning and needed a break so I thought I would check in .

have a fun friday

katrinabgood 02-06-2004 11:53 AM

Come visit often, get to know the crowd...you can to respond to one or two or to nobody in particular. There are no hard and fast rules. Just tell us about your day...your weight loss efforts...whatever you feel like talking about. If you've been reading us a while, you'll know that there are really NO boundaries!

Good Morning Chicks!!!

Finally, a good Friday weigh-in. I've lost about 5 pounds in the past 2 weeks, however some of that was my end of year loss and I am starting fresh with 2004, so I've lost 1.6 pounds in 2004 for a total of 41.6. My next goal is 50!!! Hope to get there by the end of February.

DH got blood results today and his glucose was too high! Our Dr. recommended he follow a diabetic diet for 3 months and then get re-tested. Can anyone point me in a good direction? I was thinking South Beach??? I am going to follow whatever he does for a while to get him on track.

Welcome Kimmber! Looking forward to getting to know you! This is the BEST group of women!! :D

It is such a yucky day here - cold and rainy - started out icy this morning. Luckily I am working at home and still in my PJs! :p

Heading downstairs to have lunch --- spinach salad w/ lemon poppyseed dressing! Yummy - I'll share the recipe with you all!

Later....
Barb

natenkayliesmom 02-06-2004 01:27 PM

Happy Friday!!! Went into work this morning only to find out that we didn't have enough work to stay all day. So boss lady sent us home. I just finished cleaning my kitchen & living room. After I post this, I'll probably go clean up my bedroom.

Dh & I are going to be CHILD FREE tonight!!!!!

Ok.. the numbers in my sig. I need to pick a WI & stick with it. I weigh more at WW. On the church line, I've got my highest weight/beginning this time weight/current/and then goal. On WW, I only have my beginning WW weight/current/and then WW goal that they set for me. I'd rather stick with the church weight line since I weigh less but then I'll feel depressed at WW until I start losing a lot. I dunno. :?:

Barb -- I was so upset last night that Rudy got voted off. I love this Survivor so much more than any of the others because I already "know" the people there. I love Rupert... he's my favorite favorite. Then there's Lex -- gotta love those tattoos. Ethan -- just too sweet & such a nice guy. And Tom -- country & speaks it like it is.

2cute -- yeah, dh did learn the shoe thing from me. I'll probably break down & go back to buy her another pair or two. I saw some sandals that were just too cute to leave at the store! I've already promised her that I'd go back & get the hat that I forgot to put in layaway with the clothes. She is too much like me. Shoes, hats & purses!!! (Good thing she hasn't completely learned about jewelry!)

Kat -- WAY TO GO YOU LOSER!!! I'd be thrilled with an 8 lb loss too. I can understand why you would be upset having to lose it twice. I've been struggling with this one pound for about three weeks now. I can't manage to get below 300 no matter how hard I try!

Everyone else -- Howdy!! Hope you are having a wonderful Friday!!

2cute2Bfat 02-06-2004 03:10 PM

Stephanie... here is a possible option to combine both.
I would aim for "YOUR GOAL" and when you get there... you can have a doctor write a statement and WW will change your goal for you. ;)
Congratulations on your success you have already had.

Highest / start WW / present WW / my goal
330 / 309 / 309 / 170

paperdoll 02-06-2004 04:07 PM

responce to barb have your husband cut his carbs that should take his glocose down. sb is good. pat

BarbPA 02-06-2004 06:15 PM

Hey Chickadees! Where is everyone hiding? I feel like I am talking to myself!

I am still determined not to leave the house today - so yucky out! I finally changed out of my PJs about 5:00 and popped in my Pilates for Dummies tape to get my body moving a little bit. The biggest problem I have when I do that tape is my little dog that tries to sit on me the entire time! I guess she's trying to give me a little extra resistance!

I am counting on a quiet evening at home. I'll probably play Everquest (computer game) with DH. We are going to spend part of the weekend planning his new health/exercise plan! I am thrilled with the turn around in his attitude. Took a couple docs and few tests, but he now knows he HAS to take care of himself!!!

Pat - Thanks for your response. His is definately going to cut out the carbs. He's the kind of person that needs a good book/plan to follow. So, I'm not sure what would be the best. I have been hearing so much about South Beach lately. I just don't want him to think low carb mean all fat!

Kat - I want to go on a bike ride with you! :) Actually I am thinking of a bike for my birthday this year.

So long for now....Have a great Friday Night!
Barb ;)

Survivor note:

Voting Rudy off was the smartest thing that tribe's done yet! Bless him, he's a tough old bird, but OLD is the operative word here. Plus he's hurt. He wasn't much good at the challenges. Are we going to be SENTIMENTAL or are we going to be SURVIVORS? Loved his "threat" in his parting shot..."I've got friends." Where? In a nursing home?

Let's see, who else is there?

Jenna L... Has GOT to go! Oy, what a yapper. I do respect the fact, however, that she put her anti Ethan feelings aside to make the right choice. Still...

And what is the deal with Richard Hatch? He's really annoying. Entertainment Weekly had a great article about this Survivor. One of the lines made me laugh out loud. "While wading in the ocean, Richard has just ripped off his khaki skirt and stands before the camera crew in his full glory, which, as it turns out, is not very glorious at all." They refer to him as Little Richard after that. I can't WAIT for the day he's taken down.

Rupert...poor guy, it's a whole different dynamic here...he seems kind of lost, but I think he's just standing back and assessing what he needs to do. Definitely my favorite out of all of them.

Jenna M...doesn't have anyone in her tribe to impress with her big boobs this time around...thank God that hideous Heidi didn't come along for this game!

Jerri...still creepy, though much more low key this time.

Sue Hawk...I like her! She won't last, but she's got brass ones!

Rob/Amber love story...yecchh to both.

Rob ...He's a bit of a character. Smarmy, yes...but amusing to watch.

Colby...dull as dishwater.

Lex...interestingly weird.

Kathy...like nails on a chalkboard.

Shih Ann...I LIKED her originally...I think I was the only one! Not sure about her this time around.

Alicia...DOWN GIRL! She's good but too mouthy.

Big Tom...Amusing...annoying after a while.

Ethan...He has potential, but being a target has made him somewhat *****y. I guess I would be too.

All in all...there are enough strong personalities there to make this one humdinger of a Survivor! Woo hoo! Let the games begin! ...er...continue!

Terri in MO 02-06-2004 08:05 PM

Geez Kat, kinda ruthless about poor old Rudy. But he was too old.

Barb - DH is diabetic and that is why we strive to follow SBD. Within our first three months on the plan, we took turned his blood results around dramatically. The doc had threatened that if he had one more test with high sugar (there is a 3 month test that they do) then the doc was putting him on insulin. The very next test, his reading was in the normal range. The key is significantly reducing the high-glycemic foods (breads, potatoes, certain fruits, certain veggies). Too bad the DH's of our lives won't listen to us but thank goodness he'll listen to his doc. Good luck!

Hey, for those of you with the SBD book, DH made the marinated flank steak last night. Very good! I'll post the recipe tomorrow.

Something very freaky just happened on my laptop a few minutes ago. I lost the wireless connection and when I looked to see the connections, there were more wireless networks available than I installed. One was all symbols. Then a screen came up and said "A problem...." then it rebooted by itself. When it came back, everything seems to be okay. Wonder if someone else in the neighborhood was interfering?? I believe I'll be making a backup CD tomorrow morning.

I'm shutting down for the night; just in case. Have a wonderful evening!

SusieH 02-06-2004 09:19 PM

End of Day 21

Hello ladies,

Day 21 and still OP. The only problem is that today started my TOM and I am swelled up like a water balloon. I don't forsee much (if any) loss tomorrow, as TOM usually adds 4 pounds of water weight for me. I am kinda upset, as I have been extremely good and hoped for at least a pound or two. We will see....

Didn't go to work today, as my abs brakes were frozen on my car and it was so icy outside that I didn't want to chance an accident. Unfortunately, my brother didn't stay home, as he was hit head on in his car on his way to work and fortunately only has a contusion and a broken ankle (or at least that is what I have been told). Prayers please....

Exercise this week was ok (3 times), should have done more, but no energy.

hope everyone is doing well, as usual, I haven't had time to catch up on the posts.

2cute2Bfat 02-06-2004 11:15 PM

Good evening friends. It does seem we are down on participation within our thread.
I LOVE all that are posting  but there are a lot that are not. :(

My day babysitting wore me out. :faint: I had to take a short nap after they left. LOL
Today is the baby's birthday. :hb: She turned 2. :balloons: I let them bake a cake and they loved that... especially licking the beaters. :T It was a fun day... but I was ready for them go back home by the end of it. LOL

Kat...
Quote:

Colby...dull as dishwater.
 My husband used to say my daughter's teacher had the personality of a "rock". You description of Survivor even made me want to watch it.

Barb.. I must say .. my husband is diabetic too... and when he follows a low carb diet his counts improve dramatically. He has to reduce the amount of medication he takes and he goes from needing to wear glasses to not needing them.
Susie.. congrats on your 21 days !!! :cp:

Terri.. my computer does weird things every now and then too. I just shut it down for a while.

Pat ... I see several of us have diabetic husbands. LC does definitely help.
Kimmber , Chequitagirl/Audrey ... good to see you peeking in too.

Hope to hear more from the rest of you MIAs... do you need to be called back by name?? Maybe we should take that roll call again. Several said "here" but many did not post. Come out , come out where ever you are. :coach:
