    Welcome to the August exercise thread! We're making exercise a habit, giving ourselves some accountability, and getting healthier in the process!

    In this thread, we track the number of MINUTES we exercise for the month -- whether it's walking or swimming or sweaty housework! Most of us set goals for ourselves. If you are a goal-setter, early in the month set your own goal! If you're just getting started, feel free to start with a smaller number of minutes, maybe just a few hundred. It seems easier for many of us to build on the habit rather than meet a very high goal right away. However, you can also just jump right in without a goal, and you can join us anytime in the month!

    We have done so great...so far this year we are at 10,816 minutes

    Let's Try again- I really want to push us for August, I know we can make this!

    Goal for August is 4100 Minutes!!

    We invite you to join us!

    To keep track, just add your minutes to the existing group’s minutes. If you’re new, look at what other people are doing – it’s pretty easy to figure out! To help everyone keep things straight, please note the OLD minutes and the number of NEW minutes you are adding, such as
    Group total ~ 500 + 50 = 550 minutes.

    Don't be scared or feel overwhelmed...we can do this!! Keep walking, keep working, keep going!! We are all getting stronger!!
  • This month I need to have a personal goal for accountability....July was rough so let's just focus on how successful August will be

    Personal goal for me 1400 minutes for August.
    I will add to our total as a group while I countdown my personal goal.
  • I kinda fell down on the job at the end of July. Let's try again, shall we?

    Lunch walk today - 24 minutes!
  • First one up and moving Lilion! Thanks for taking the first step!
    I am going to exercise more this month.
    24 + 10 minute walk = 34 minutes
  • It has taken a bit to get back on track after my long vacation.

    30 min workout this morning.

    34+30=64 Minutes
  • 64 minutes + 15 min shoulder neck yoga=79 min
  • 79 min + 40 min yoga + 40 min walking=159 min

    (Personal goal 1400 min for August-1325 to go!!)
  • Yesterday 20 minutes yard work + 159 = 179 minutes
  • Yeesh my week has been off...

    8/3 lunch walk 22 minutes

    179 + 22 = 201 minutes
  • 201 min + 18 min tai chi + 10 minutes yoga=229 min
  • 33 minutes lunch walk - a mile and a half! That's faster than usual for me.

    229 - 33 = 262 minutes
  • 262 min + 20 min yoga + 18 min tai chi=300 min
  • 300 min + 35 min candlelight yoga=335 min
  • 335 + 35 min yoga=370 min
  • 370 min + 60 min walking + 35 min yoga=465 min
