Hey Guys and Gals,

It's another month, Can you believe Sept. went by so fast? I cant believe it went by so fast but as always lets make this month the best one yet. Who's with me?

SamIAm86 10-03-2016 06:59 AM

Hi everyone

Wanted to stop by and say thank you for all the love, kind words and support with everything going on in my life right now. When things make such a drastic change it increases my stress levels pretty harshly and my anxiety is at an all time high. I stopped caring about myself because there's just too much going on. But I'm tired of doing this to myself. Just because bad things are happening doesn't mean I should take a step backwards in my progress. I'm just trying to focus on the here and now and take things on step at a time. The plus side is it's starting to finally cool down here in the southeast so DH and I are ready to get back outside with our walking. I'm ok if I only get cardio in for the rest of the year as long as I'm not giving up. Today is a new day and I'm going to treat every day as such.

I hope you all have a great week and thanks for being here.

Had a wedding last night and It was great. My sisters best friend was marrying this wonderful woman and the ceremony and reception was fantastic:D. I was not there for the formal meal, however when the night time buffet came around, I was very very good I only had a couple of sandwiches and a very small slice of cake. I had two fruit Ciders and a vodka and sprite, these were quite high in calories, so I made sure that I drank them as I danced :carrot:. This meant that somehow, lucky me, I weighed in at the exact same as yesterday morning. Woohoo! :D

I also got some very nice comments about my dress and how I looked great :smug: I felt awesome last night :D

p.s Thought I would add a photo :D but this was of when I got home and gladly took my dancing shoes off.

RubyLeprechaun 10-03-2016 04:52 PM

Scotsgal you look great! I love weddings.

I hit my 5000 steps today. It makes me feel pretty darn good.

Scotsgal 10-04-2016 08:15 AM

Ruby Well done!! I always feel very proud to hit 5,000. it doesn't sound much to some people, but considering its my cell that counts and I don't carry it around the house. It only tracks my outside steps, and some days I really don't have the spare time lol. So well done, I am very pleased for you!!

about me just popping my head in today, last night I tried out a meal that I saw on pinterest and it was amazing! It was a whole 297 calories and that was my full evening meal :o I bought a small packet of diced British beef, threw it into the wok/frying pan with a whole pack of chopped mushrooms and about 2 cups of broccoli. I then added some Chinese 5 spice and some light soy sauce. It was awesome!! I couldn't believe how filling it was for such little calories.

Anyway... it worked as this morning I weighed in at 289.8, My lowest before was 290.4 and I have been battling to get under 290 for the last 2 weeks. I go to Germany on Monday morning, and I would love to of hit 288 or 287 by then. I need to work really hard.

I have also noticed that since I stopped having soup every lunch time, I haven't been as bloated. I also haven't taken any pain killers in a while to try and shift some more weight lol. Not sure if its a combination of both. Just means I'm in a lot of pain these last few days lol.

CatherineM 10-04-2016 10:28 AM

Had a horrible weekend. Long car trip, eating out, dealing with MIL from ****. She actually tried to have me deported as a terrorist once. Hard to get back on the wagon.

Karencat 10-05-2016 04:20 AM

Hi all - seems to be popping in for fortnightly check in ... must try for weekly .. maybe Sunday nights.or more realistically monday morning when the hubby is at work as hubby hogging pc again during week nights or I am just too tired for this

We are going to the Home show - big expo thing like a convention for people redecorating renovating or building homes will probably take 4 hours to get around
must work out and save points on WW for the annual treat of a danish delight ice cream ... probably something nuts like 30 points as in all my weeklies I have left

Ruby well done on reaching 5000 steps do that for a while then try increase by 500 steps ... work at it slowly - if your only tracking actual walks not just steps as you move or incidental movements then that is huge, I have a vivofit watch so my many runs to the loo add up my steps big time and I am trying for 15,500 now.. taking the time my girls swim train to walk instead of watching them

My girls got some great news for them the eldest moved up a level at the swim academy they attend and the youngest is in the invitational preparation sessions for the next level - unfortunately this means being extremely busy every week night sat morning and then they have swim meets on some Sundays...

SamIam hope things pick up for you -- always try to look after you first if your not well you cant look after the others you care about

CatherineM Your MIL sounds like the classic revolting MIL how awful I hope you get your groove back from the horrible weekend

scotsgal - love the dress pic - glad your not so bloated - could it have been something in the soup ingredients setting you off?
is there anything you can use for the pain that isnt tablet... like say a arnica calendula topical cream that might work for some relief -- I use anti-flam on my joint and muscle aches does not cure 100% but helps

Terra1984 10-06-2016 09:59 AM

SamIAm86 ~ I'm glad to hear your going to start taking care of yourself

Scotsgal ~ I love Weddings but I've only been to 2 in my life

CatherineM & RubyLeprechaun ~ Hi Ladies Welcome to our thread for Oct.

Karencat ~ Hi

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hey Gals,
Good Morning, It's almost 9 a.m. & I'm about to go wash the dishes and clean the kitchen before I leave for the day. I have P.T. at 11 a.m. and then I'm gonna go apply for a job and then I'll come back home for the day. Tomorrow I have P.T. again and then I'm going to the mall for my free birthday gift from one of the jewelry store in one of my malls in town. Then on Sat. I'm going to dinner with 5 friends and then Sunday is of course our weekly shopping day. My weight loss has been going good. This morning I tried on a long sleeve shirt that I have wore in 4 years and it fit. I was so excited that I'm finally seeing physically results of my 35 pound weight loss.
Scotsgal 10-07-2016 08:35 AM
I wrote a big long winded reply to everyone and then I pressed on a stupid ad and it wiped everything. So I apologise about the short reply's, I'm so angry right now lol
Catherine Would love to hear the story about your MIL trying to deport you for some reason lol
Karencat I think it is the sodium in the canned soup that makes me bloat because I do not add salt to anything and I eat quite a fresh diet without it. Also I use BIO FREEZE which is great to put on as a step before pain killers, sometimes it works, sometimes its not enough.
Terra I love weddings :D And well done again on your NSV :D
Phae I hope someone finds that very useful and uplifting :D
Me I went to see my surgeon yesterday about my tendonitis, I explained everything in my wiped message lol But long story short.... I don't need surgery woohoo...... but they still don't know why I am in so much pain..... so they gave me another cortisone injection.... means I might be drumming like I did when I was 19 next week in Germany :D
Also weighed in at lowest today of 288.8 (from 323) yay!
RubyLeprechaun 10-08-2016 12:46 PM
Sounds like everyone has a fun weekend planned!
Scotsgal: It sucks that you don't know what's causing the pain but at least you don't have to have surgery. Being put under scares me.
Phae1963: I would try not to dwell on the past. The important part is that you came back :)
I'm not hitting 5000 steps every day yet but I'm working on it. It helps that I'm taking my daughter to the park or play area after I take my husband to work. I get some quality time with her, she gets some socialization, and we both get healthy. I'm not sure if it's in my head or not but I just plain feel better. I live on the second floor and the stairs are easier. I don't get winded walking across the apartment. I'm so glad I found this group because I'm not sure I could have done it by myself.
Karencat 10-08-2016 03:43 PM
Scotsgirl - my life story write a post then wipe it have to repeat done that A LOT its annoying, hope the cortisone injection helps
Phae1963 glad you came back and posted after logging out - I would have rewritten probably something shorter like Scotsgirl did - but wouldn't have confessed to it.
Terra1984 - HI - wearing old clothes YAY!!!
RubyLeprechaun Your feeling better about it both in the head and the body I would say - means your improving with this you will get to those 5000 steps then you will find time to start doing 10,000!!! Playing with your children is a good workout for you and great for them and does not feel like work - love that fact
Went to the home-show with sister her daughter my two girls and our mum (Nana to the girls)- her daughter ran off Nana chased after her with help from my youngest - we walked around the show - missing the outdoor area where the face-painter and food court was found the danish delight ice cream - cheat day here had planned this ice cream into points from ww very low points day and almost no weeklies used to account for this tracked as best as able to hopefully got it right maddeningly high allowance of pretty much all the weeklies and half the dailies gone on 1 ice cream but **** enjoyed it!
My eldest stayed with me - Finally caught up with Nana and girls to get grumped at about taking off on her - excuse me - we did not she disappeared on us this time - we kept an eye out for them, if we had gone to/found the face painter would have found them the two girls had there faces painted with beautiful butterflys around the eyes little one was pinky purple she has shocking red/ginger hair and it looked amazing my youngest is a dark brown like mine she had a bright blue and sparkly one done - made her eyes look an intense bright blue instead of gray blue the blue sparkle lips was brilliant too!
anyway after that Friday night
Saturday /yesterday went to Waihi beach for a memorial and ash scattering of an unlce that passed away this time last year
didn't go to the ash scattering part as it has been raining a fair bit which means it was up a muddy track and we don't all have gumboots
so we met the family at the local pub restaurant /cafe section for a coffee (mocha for me - hot chocolate for the girls)
and a late morning tea.. hot chocolate was too rich for the youngest - wow her tastes already starting on the sugar being not so great -just by her choices alone ... having said that she still likes lollies .. just not too many of them
managed the whole day without blowing out my WW points ! really not easy in perspective it was very well done
after that went to the beach
had girls togs in the boot of the car - no towels oh bother - ended up using polar fleece blankets as towels it works and they dry fast so not to bad need to grab them out of the car and wash them now though
and put new togs into the car... sister got a photo of all 3 girls running back to shore in the waves looked like a baywatch scene photo ! :running:
stopped at MacDonald's on way home for a late lunch had a create your own taste burger - seared chicken , grilled pineapple 4 long pickles tomato and beetroot wrapped in lettuce no dressings so lighter points then any other options ....
dinner was 2 rice thins and a can of tuna
as only wanted something little later on by then
today is the last day of school holidays all 3 girls are currently at their Nana's need to go get my two and take the other one home..
Warning - Not about weight loss but about the children...
My little one is learning Violin and needs to practice she is also doing theory had homework for it but isnt so sure about doing it - she figured out its because she can not just ask her teacher at the next lesson about it .. normally she does more then is set but because its so long between lessons she is a bit nervous that she wont figure it out . ... so cute...
eldest is doing guitar lessons and loving it ... she can now play
our national anthem quite well has mastered Frère Jacques , In the hall of the Mountain King, Love me tender .. and a few others to busking standards
where her teacher would go busking with her now - so cool! she is 12 at the end of the year had a few different teachers been learning since 8 and is doing beautifully
also is learning Queens we will rock you
We have all been doing so well (me with my weight loss program them with music/swimming) going to see Pete's dragon with the girls as a reward
LadyA 10-09-2016 01:14 PM
I have been noticing some inconsistencies with my scale lately so I purchased a new one since mine is over 3 years old. I have tried replacing the batteries and reseting it but it still takes 5-6 tries to get the same reading. On the upside of that I saw 296 on the scale for a brief second. I have also been having some lady issues that will require a visit to the doc tmro. So stressing over that... We went to the pumpkin patch yesterday so i did a lot of walking which is good. It was cheat day and I wanted a funnel cake so i had one, well half of one. I shared with my youngest. Didn't get a whole lot of water in since a bottle of water cost 2.99!!! So I tried to catch up when I got home but it was late and I was exhausted. Ill get in my million ounces today though:) Hope everyone else is doing ok ~ A
Scotsgal 10-09-2016 01:41 PM
Just sticking my head in (which I feel I seem to do a lot nowadays). I go off to Germany tomorrow morning to do 4 shows with what is called the Scottish Music Parade, we are on Facebook if you want a sneeky peek. The cortisone seems to be doing well so far, however the bruising is a bit ouchy. I keep hitting it off of EVERYTHING, so typical. I hit a nice low this week which meant I got to -35.1lbs down :D super happy about that. I know i'll muck it up while away with alcohol lol but ill do my best to drunkinly dance off as many calories as possible lol.
I am glad I am not the only one accidentally wiping my conversations lol
I wont be back until Saturday night, so I hope you all have a great week.
RubyLeprechaun 10-12-2016 07:48 PM
I made cauliflower mash today for dinner. I was worried about it because I'm not a big fan of cauliflower...but...it wasn't bad. I put it through a blender because the masher gave it a rough texture that I didn't like. It's officially on my list of tasty low calorie side dishes. Other than that it's been a pretty boring couple of days.
Karencat 10-14-2016 02:23 PM
cauliflower rice
Tried Cauliflower fried rice. .blitz cauliflower to rice texture the fry in wok or pan like you would with previously cooked rice
add other veggies herbs/spices and a bit of meat if you eat it
going well on following my WW plan even though been a bit crook with a cold
RubyLeprechaun 10-14-2016 02:40 PM
Hmm I'm going to have to try it as rice. It is super low calories so it's worth a shot.
Congrats Phae! It's always awesome when you get a big number of steps.
RubyLeprechaun 10-15-2016 08:42 AM
I went to my sister's football game (she's in the marching band) and ate so much game food. I want to be mad at myself but I stayed under my calorie count. Which isn't that the point? Plus walking to the stadium and back made me hit my steps goal. Taking the same sister to a haunted house tonight. Hope everyone enjoys there weekend!
RubyLeprechaun 10-17-2016 07:38 AM
Phae: you can do it! Make reachable goals and just keep looking ahead. Nd I think you should try it at least once. Worse case you hate it and never make it again...and is that really such a bad thing?
Scotsgal 10-17-2016 11:35 AM
IM BACCKK! I drank lots of alcohol, one KFC, one MAcdonalds, One allergic reaction to some German Sausage, and added on 6.3lbs lol
Luckily Overnight I now only have 4.7lbs to get rid of. It is usually alcohol water weight and it usually goes down quite quickly. This week I need to be really strict. It wont be difficult as I came home with a horrible cold, sore throat and an ear that wont pop from descending into the airport on Saturday night. It all came long after 2 nights out in Autumn in Germany while not wearing weather appropriate clothing. Luckily chicken noodle soup isn't high in calories lol. Fingers crossed I can get this holiday weight off quite quickly.
RubyLeprechaun 10-18-2016 11:17 PM
Oh alcohol. How I've missed you. I haven't really had a chance to drink in a while. First I was pregnant, then I was breastfeeding. Now its got too many calories. Darn it :) Oh well. I'm sure I can sneak a few indulge days in. I'm glad you had fun Scotsgal!
RubyLeprechaun 10-20-2016 02:22 AM
This Halloween is going to be stressful. A tiny bag of Reese's Pieces is 210 calories! There is literally only 10 pieces in the bag...absolutely ridiculous. On a positive note walking Vivi around helped me hit my 5000 steps, and we have 2 more places for her. Yay exercise and candy I can't eat :)
Scotsgal 10-20-2016 11:14 AM
Ohh Halloween is the calorie Devil! I am not sure what my plans are yet, but I want to stick on track to hit my first VERY BIG GOAL at -43lbs at 280. I am 286.8 as of this morning (lost all my holiday weight, Must of just been alcohol) so I am soo close and I don't want Halloween to mess that up! The last time I was 281 was back in 2010, so I would be over the moon to be under that.
Karencat 10-20-2016 11:51 PM
hi all
have been tracking following program like crazy
how about y'all
how's everyone doing
Scotsgal 10-21-2016 11:00 AM
Things are going well for me, would love to see a little boost in weight loss before the end of the month, but not quite sure if that will happen. I feel I need to start eating more protein foods also.
Scotsgal 10-23-2016 03:14 PM
Hello Everyone
I have had a bit of an off the wagon weekend, on Friday night I had Chinese Take-out. I shared with mum so it was no where near what we would usually of been ordered, we both have a bad cold so we got chicken noodle soup. Then we shared a portion of chicken and mushroom with fried rice. The scale replicated this on Saturday morning by jumping up by about a lbs and a half. Luckily this morning it came down again slightly to just o.4 above my lowest, but then I feel I may of ruined it tonight with having Ice cream. I need to pull my finger out a bit this next week, I have been slacking quite a bit, need to up my fitness.
Phae1963 Don't let it get you down that you are still classified as obese, I started at 323 and I am currently 286.9, I think our stats have been pretty similar for a while. We have lost A LOT of weight and are doing great!! I like to use some of the foods that I see people talk about in here also (I don't like asparagus or sprouts either). Stir fry is my life saver always, my new favourite is shredded beef, white closed mushrooms and Broccoli. The only other thing I add is light soy sauce and that is it, AMAZING! Good luck with your cauliflower experiments, I tried it with curry and it really never worked ahahaha. Good luck, hope you find a way, and if you do, let me know.
I understand your friends motivation, I am only 27 and have a full life ahead of me, that doesn't mean that I am exempt from the health issues that come along with obesity. I have 2 weddings next year, both best friends of mine are marrying amazing woman and I cannot wait until their big days. My sister I also FINALLY getting married after 3 children and 9 year relationship in Italy in April 2018. In January 2019 I will turn 30 years old and I am using all of these big moments in my life at goals to lose all of my excess weight.
I calculated my lean body mass % and I have quite a big frame and I will never be under 154. So my aim is to be 170 and nice and strong and healthy :D I actually cannot wait!
RubyLeprechaun 10-24-2016 04:37 AM
Phae1963: I agree with Scotsgal. You are doing amazing! I would love to be under 300. Try not to let it get you down and just keep doing what your doing.
I'm not really feeling the greatest so I haven't been walking. Which means I've been sitting at home and that just makes me want to eat. I just couldn't seem to stop myself from eating everything bad for me. I need to find more snack type foods to eat. I'm loving the salads but sometimes I just want something like cheese or chips.
Karencat 10-24-2016 06:11 AM
phae1963
Brussels sprouts YUCK😨😱😵😜😫 I will have asparagus before those little mini demonic cabbages
Scotsgal 10-25-2016 11:32 AM
Hit a new low again today 286 on the dot :D I have 6 full days of being really good left, to get as close to 280 as possible.
I'm not sure If I have ever told you about my 280 barrier, while the last time I was so close to it was 2010, I actually haven't been under it since I was about 19 (in 2008) and that was only by about 6lbs. So my aim was always to be 273 for xmas as that was the lowest weight I ever remember being (any younger than that, I just stayed away from the scales).
Every time I get close to 280 I can't break through, But this time I will take me 44lbs to break through it. Which is the biggest amount I have ever had to lose to get to it.
Xmas will be soo exciting, I can't wait to be able to say Ive lost 50lbs :D
SamIAm86 10-26-2016 06:53 AM
Hi all-Still trying to get back on track with things. I'm giving myself every excuse not to it seems...between family issues and the hurricane cleanup which also takes a toll on my job and that has left me very stressed and tired at the end ofnthe day to where I don't want to do anything. DH made a good point to me this morning and I guess that's what persuaded me to post because I'm ashamed of what I'm doing to myself. He said if I keep coming home tired and don't exercise then I will just get into an endless cycle and gain more weight and feel even more exhausted. He's right. He wants mento start doing my workout videos again and maybe then start back at the gym. I have to do something so I guess why wait?
Thanks for being here guys. I need to post here more it really helps with keeping me on track.
RubyLeprechaun 10-27-2016 04:46 AM
SamIam86: I think its great that your hubby is so involved and helpful. A lot of people don't have someone to help push them along.
Scotsgal: Don't remind me of Christmas... Its really not as fun as when I was a kid and only had to receive the presents haha. Its amazing that your so close to your first goal!
Scotsgal 10-27-2016 11:33 AM
Hope everyone is doing well
I have went up slightly to 286.3 which I expected, I am so close I can almost taste it, which I think brings a lot of nerves to this weeks weigh inns. I think I just need to calorie count like mad, be very good, and not let the pressure take over of being so close.
SAmIam Your other half is right, sadly tiredness is the catch 22 for weightloss. You are too tired to work out, but working out gives you more energy. Try and break through that barrier, start small.... that way it shouldn't feel like such a huge chore. I do about 30 minutes of standing exercises every day, I have resistance bands (that cost very very little) and I do about 10 minutes of arm work outs, 10 minutes of squats and stretches for my legs, and I do 10 minutes of twists and standing crunches and stuff like that on my tummy. I do it all while waiting on the kettle to boil, waiting on veggies on boil on the stove, and during breaks in the TV (I know its lazy but its something). I have notices a significant difference on overall toning of my core. My weight-loss has started to slow down a bit now that I am nearly 40lbs down, so in the next week or two I will be starting to attend maybe a Zumba or Kettlebell class. After the new year when I hope to of lost 50lbs, I will start to take up strength training. I am a busy woman, I have a lot to do and I have an old dog to look after. So my routine after new year will most probably be, still do the 30 mins toning per day, one day a week a cardio class, one day a week a weight resistance class, and all other days of the week a 20-40 minute walk with the dog.
I am telling you this because sometimes I think people create a culture in their head where they have to go to the gym every single day to lose weight and feel energetic. Slowly and regularly is the way forward. I believe in you!!
RubyLeprechaun I am blanking from my mind the fact that I have not bought one present yet, and my sister keeps popping out kids and I can't afford xmas anymore lol. Everyone is getting a dollar world surprise!
Karencat 10-27-2016 01:21 PM
scotsgal hopefully you get a good walking budistance with motivation
where you I've sounds lovely cold but nice
nearest beach is a hour's to 1 & 1/2 hour drive from where we live. ..at least we are near a pool...
this week I have had 4 days all in my daily points WW not a weekly touched
who mentioned Xmas
I am ignoring that till after Halloween you girls are doing a combination Halloween birthday party this year so instead of 3 big things easier have one..also my eldest as her birthday on the same day they are doing a jazz end of year dance show
so spent this week crafting cakes sculpting fondant buildings made two birthday cakes which look awesome. .. one is a dead teddy bear n it's back requires a knife in it closer to the day (Sunday ) stuffed with m&ms. .the other is Harry Potter inspired Hogwarts castle AND quidditch pitch
this included here taste of butter cream and some chocolate buy a tracked and accounted for
will tryou figure out how to add pictures
Karencat 10-27-2016 01:29 PM
forgot to mention
NSV for a dancer
this is a good utility annoying one for dancers
my Nice sparkly cabaret costume doesn't fit it's now about 6 sizes too big. .back in February I felt I was getting so fat it was about to be too small
looking forward to the families Xmas this year
especially since I will have some nice success and I am sure that a couple of the in-laws will be quite completely blown away by my hard work
well its he Hogwarts cake...stumbled onto how to copy link address then couldn't figure out how I did it for the bear
RubyLeprechaun 10-28-2016 11:31 AM
Yeah...I'm lucky in our family we are all kind of broke so we only give gifts to the children(basically everyone younger than me). This wouldn't be too bad if I wasn't the oldest of 9 and my cousins are all younger than me too. Sigh. Sometimes it stinks to be the oldest child and grandchild.
And again I have to agree with scotgal. I was really down for a while. Getting cranky with everyone. I would hear the stupid things I was saying and feel bad as soon as I said it but I just couldn't seem to stop myself. I looked at my steps for those days and they were all super low.... like not even hitting 1000. Now that I realized that I've been trying harder to do more and I'm sure my husband is much happier for it.
Also I hit the 20lb down mark. 24 to be exactly! Yay :)
Scotsgal 10-31-2016 07:55 AM
Just popping my head in because I didn't just fall off the wagon, I flipped off that bad boy and fell face first into the gutter. My mum has had a really busy week with work and my sister, which meant I was only making meals for one person, which nothing in our house is packaged or prepared for one person. Instead I ordered take out, luckily it was so disgusting that the dog ate some of it. Then on Saturday I ate a whole bag of little chocolate things which I tried to forget was like 550 calories for all of it. Then at dinner time, while mum was away I ordered a grilled chicken BBQ burger with fries and mozzarella sticks and an Ice cream, I went full crazy!! I put the burger on the plate, and then as I was putting the fries on I thought, wow!! that's a lot of fries, so half stayed in the pack. But I hate everything else..... Sheer greediness. But do you know what?? I felt like crap, I was horrifically full and it was so uncomfortable. Today on Halloween I have gained 2.8 lbs over the weekend.
I will be super good this week to get it back off I am sure, but I have just set myself back. I feel like I needed it though after 37lb loss to remind myself why I eat the way I do, why I want it! So I am starting fresh and "forgetting" about my 280 barrier so I can blast past it.
Learned a tough lesson this weekend.
Karencat 11-01-2016 04:40 AM
complete fall over
..well not quite. ..a bit off track utility clawing way back here
