What's your go-to lunch?
Hey all. I'm trying to get back into the swing of bringing my lunch instead of eating out all the time. My biggest barrier to weight loss is that I absolutely hate cooking/food-prep, so I'm super guilty of just buying a lean cuisine and calling that a healthy packed lunch. I'm working on getting some lunch ideas together for myself that aren't so processed.
So I was wondering, what is your go-to lunch? |
Hi,
Protein because when we don't eat it, or we are deficient in the grams we eat at every meal and we don't eat it in our snacks; the sugar Monster or the Potato chip monster cravings will Attack us & put their nasty fat into our bodies :o Roasted or baked chicken without any skin sprinkled w your favorite seasoning, I like lemon zest or lemon pepper & add a veggie. Soo easy & fast. A chopped chicken salad loaded w veggies, or put in a wrap. Toss the chicken in a food processor & pulse it, if you don't like cutting it & do the same w your veggies. Egg salad sandwich, skip the bread & use lettuce for the wrap & ppl are impressed. Have fun pLaying chef making your food :p |
Thanks, miniDoodles

My go to lunch when I have it on hand is Sauteed Boneless,Skinless Chicken Breasts in a little oil and sprinkled with McCormick's Montreal Chicken Seasoning, It so good and its my favorite go to lunch.

Thanks Terra :smug:
When I grocery shop this week I'll buy the Montreal seasoning. What does it taste like? |
I cant explain the taste, I just know it tastes really good and it makes Chicken Breast 10 times better.

I'm following an extended Atkins induction. My go to lunch is chicken tacos with cabbage leaves used for taco shells. I cook the chicken the night before when I make dinner and just slice it into strips. Add in my cabbage leaves to my lunch box, some cherry tomatoes, 1/2 avacado, and some shredded cheese and I'm good to go. So yum!

Sounds good, Shan84

What are you'all eating when sick, to take a pill?
I have sinus pain, earache, & nausea today after taking a allergy pill :( So nothing sounds good to eat. I tried to nap & sleep all this off & used heat, but no luck :( So I'll b taking another pill soon.... Have a Happy end of the month girls :haphal: |
Anytime I'm sick I always stick to plan which means my food intake is limited in choices. If I can't handle boiled eggs then I make up a big pot of chicken broth or beef broth just with water and bouillon cubes and drink that until I can stomach real food again.

I eat chicken noodle soup when I'm sick
|
Spinach salad with veggies mixed in (carrot, celery, olive, etc)
I either throw in a hard boiled egg or some turkey. I also eat a cutie orange with pretty much every meal I have. |
I love to cook, but don't have much time during the week. I usually cook a BIG meal on Sunday (I'm single and live alone, and usually cook enough to feed 6-8 people) and I have leftovers for lunch for most of the week. I try to switch it up. I love crock pot meals, RockCrok meals, one skillet meals, and hearty soups.

My biggest problem is I am a picky eater. I never know what to pack with being picky. Is their anything wrong with the weight watcher microwave dinners? That was my go to early last year then I stopped and started buying my lunch. I would using pack a weight watcher dinner, a piece of fruit, yogurt and a granola bar.

Jenn- Microwave meals are often high in sodium (though some brands are working to change this), so I try not to eat them too often, but I do incorporate them into my routine for ease. On a previous weight loss attempt in my early 20s, I would say microwave meals made up about 40% of my diet. It worked well enough until I got sick of it and gave up.
My biggest problem with them is, as a fellow picky eater, I find myself eating the same 4 over and over and get very board with it. |
