Hi everyone.
Terra, I hope the job fair went well and I hope you get a call back. Sam, thanks for the kind words and encouragement. I believe I can do this too, if only I would get out of my own way sometimes lol. Sunday is my official weigh in day too but I also tend to weigh every day or every other day too. The carb-cycling sounds interesting and a little confusing, but I wish you the best of luck with it and hope that it helps you. I've been exhausted all this week and did not walk as much as I wanted to. Last night I forced myself to but could only do 15 minutes, but hey that is better than nothing. I found a Fitbit zip in my nightstand drawer last weekend. It's the kind that you clip on, not the new watch type one. I really don't remember when or where I got it, but I decided to use it and I really like it. It counts my steps and when I walk on the treadmill I end up being able to eat more. :D Imagine if I did even more exercise. Hmmm. Anyway, I'm using it to track my food and like it so much more than the other trackers I have been using. I have not walked nearly as much as it tells me I should (10,000 steps a day) but Sunday I got close to 5000. I will get there. My work days are so long and tiring that I give myself credit for any walking I do at night. I'm hoping to start adding in some other exercise soon, too. It has me on a 1200-1400 calorie a day diet (depending on how much I move) to lose 2 pounds a week. So far I haven't lost anything except the few pounds I gained back earlier this week but I'm hopeful. Halloween candy will be quite tempting on Saturday. We get lots of trick-or-treaters at our house. I am waiting until tomorrow morning to buy it and will hopefully keep it out of sight and mind until it is needed on Saturday. Wish me luck people! Atkins Induction Day 193
Hi everyone.
Although I have not been posting, I have stuck with my plan 100% for 193 days now. Unfortunately I hit the dreaded inevitable plateau and for the last three weeks until this Wednesday I was not losing. Then a solution came to me. Although on Atkins my main emphasis is on carbs, calories still count. I lost a lot of weight but did not change my calorie goal. I was still eating like I weighed 307 lbs. So on Monday I reduced my calorie goal by 400 and on this Wednesday I started losing again. YEA!!. Had blood work done two weeks ago and my cholesterol numbers are perfect in spite of the fact that I am eating a high fat diet. My family doctor is pleased but she asked me to set my goal at 200 and evaluate it when I get there. I have adjusted it to that number. |

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Slept in late this morning, I usually dont sleep more then 9 hours most of the day but I slept until 7:30 this morning and I went to bed at 7:00 p.m. last night. I'm looking forward to watching horror movies with Scott tonight while kids knock on our door for candy. We got trick or treaters already today. I told some of my friends that they could bring their grand kids to get candy. I'm not sure if any of them are coming yet cause they havent answered back so we'll see. I hope everyone has an awesome Halloween!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Tried to post on Saturday but DH and I got in a tiff when I tried to and needless to say it didn't happen lol...But I'm here Cindy Great job on pushing yourself! Even though you only walked the 15 minutes like you said, that is better than nothing! Keep going you will do this!!! I am wanting to get one of those activity trackers as well to see how I am doing with my workouts and stuff like that. I feel like I'm pushing myself to the next level but to see it on paper would be nice too :) Hope you weren't too tempted with the Halloween candy. Larry Thanks for checking in! What a way to rock your weight loss some more, awesome job on the 2 pounds!!! Well I think this carb cycling thing is helping me...I lost 2 pounds this week!! The cool thing is I was able to eat healthy carbs and healthy fats and still lose weight! I have officially lost 130.8 pounds!!! YAY!!!! :) :) :)....I'm only 49.2 pounds until goal....This is seriously becoming unreal to me...I may just make my goal this year and possibly surpass it! I think doing more weight lifting is doing me good as well....I've lost a good bit in my measurements this week too. I also have a NSV to share with you guys. For the first time in my ENTIRE life I have been able to purchase my first pair of tall boots! AND they aren't wide calf boots either!!! Target had a really good sale on Cartwheel this week so I got a pair for $25.00. Now that I can wear a smaller shoe size I am slowly feeling an addiction to shoes coming along LOL. I've always liked shoes but not to where I felt like I need to have 100 pairs or anything. Really I only own 6 pairs of shoes that fit me and that includes the boots I just bought. I'm REALLY diggin the boots thing and will surely get more pairs! Another cool thing that happened to me this week is my mom and grandma gave me an early birthday present. My birthday is not until Dec 26, but they said this was something I needed now...They got me a hockey jersey for my favorite team and player, Washington Capitals, Alex Ovechkin!!! It was such a nice surprise and I didn't want to accept the gift because I know those things are VERY expensive. They got a good deal online for jerseys and that's why they bought it. I'm pretty sure it's not an official jersey, maybe a knock off....But it is still very nice and I couldn't care if it was "official" or not. I've been working on my hair this afternoon. Trying to achieve a pastel purple. After bleaching and then toning my hair twice because the person at Sally's gave me the wrong information for the toner I bought, I now have the color on. It's a mix of the purple I usually do but diluted with conditioner. Hopefully it turns out!!! I'm off to prep my lunches for the week...Take care everyone! |
Quick check in...I have been so busy with work and tying everything together for my friend's baby shower this weekend that I have been planning for almost 2 months. Going to do what I can to eat the right portions since this will be somewhat of a cheat meal. I don't plan on going off my plan at all until Thanksgiving which I do plan to let myself indulge.
Didn't have to worry at all about Halloween. DH had me buy him a small bag of the mini kit kats and I ate one and was satisfied. Got my workouts and eating days planned for the carb cycling for the month of November. I think if I push myself hard enough maybe I can make it to the magical 200 pound mark...Here's hoping! I joined a Christmas challenge and that's what I put as my goal for Christmas. It would be so cool to surpass that! Anyway, Take care of yourselves. It sure has been quiet here, Hope you are well! |
