  • Welcome to the newest segment of 10 Days In The Life Boat.
This is not a "challenge" but a place for accountability to ourselves and support from our fellow rowers. So, what is your plan for this 10 day segment?

Grab an oar and join us doing our best to not fall out of the boat and and get wet. We need to meet our goals to stay dry.
  • This worked really well for me on the last leg. I'm using them again.

    Goals:
Try to ask and and answer honestly before eating anything:

1 - Ask myself if I'm truly hungry.

2 - Ask myself "why" if I'm thinking about eating something I shouldn't be.

3 - Would I be proud to track it if I ate it?

4 - Is it healthy or just junk I'm eating to make me "feel better"?

5 - Would I eat it if I thought someone was watching?

6 - Am I able to find something not edible to use as a replacement if needed?

7 - Am I using my WW program properly?
  • Hi J-Ann, and everyone, I'd like to join in! As of last night I've worked out twice in a row to my new Leslie Sansone beginners 1 mile walk, and my body is responding so I'd like to keep going, aiming for at least 2 more workouts by Sunday night.

I also wanted to have an apple tart, but I talked myself out of it and will have a vitamuffin with whipped topping instead, 350 calories vs. 250 calories plus fiber.

    My goals are -
    4 1-mile workouts a week.
A daily allowance of 1500-1800 calories a day.

Day 1 - 1820 calories (not bad)/no exercise as of yet, but if it changes I'll update (it is a few minutes to 12 am but I exercise late usually). ETA I got my exercise in, woohoo!
Day 2 - 1845 calories yesterday, 10 minutes of exercise we'll say half a mile. I ate the majority of my calories for dinner and gained 1 lb overnight grrr lol.
    Day 3
    Day 4
    Day 5
    Day 6
    Day 7
    Day 8
    Day 9
    Day 10
  • You got that exercise in Candidcamster. Good Job.

My goal questions are really helping me with WW. I weighed in 9 lbs less than last week.

Rowing this life boat is going to be easier today!
  • Thank you J-Ann, and OMIGOSH @ 9 lbs., you are doing wonderful!
  • Yesterday was again a dry one. I'm feeling really great about being able to string some successful days together.

Pass the sunscreen, please. I'm not used to seeing blue sky
  • Still not even splashed!
  • Yesterday met my goals and was dry again.

Hope today goes as well. Don't know why but I feel challenged this morning. I do not want to fall in so I'm going to have to be very aware of the difference between needs and cravings today.
  • I was able to stay dry and happy yesterday. I really had to answer honestly most of my goal questions to get through the earlier part of the day but they helped - A LOT!
  • You're doing wonderful J-Ann! The scale is moving for me, but I'm not, I haven't exercised in some days, that has been the toughest part of my journey, exercise. I just don't want to do it as often as I should, which is crazy because it does work. *sighs* I am sure I will get there so I won't get too down about it. That said, my calories are set at 1400 on MFP but I am not observing that, I eat about 1550-1800 calories on average.
  • I hate exercise. I have really bad knees so walking is out doesn't leave a lot of choices except chair exercises. I need to get back to them.

Still holding in there. I got splashed yesterday. I made an awful food choice but was able to stay w/i my WW points with a lot of revision to my meal plan for the rest of the day.
  • Sunscreen please. I stayed dry again yesterday!
  • Dry and rowing our boat hard. The towels are all washed and I've re-wound the line on the life ring.

I've lost again this week. Down another 1.4 lb.
  • Got splashed yesterday. The "I'll only eat a few" failed. The good thing - it could have been a lot worse but I was able to stop myself. It just took a while.
  • Still dry!
