Things I've learned in the past two weeks

Two weeks ago today I made a decision to turn my life around and lose this weight for good. During this time I have learned a few things about myself and about this path I've chosen. Here they are, in no particular order.

I can lose weight.

I don't have to be perfect.

A slip is not a failure.

A bad day is not a bad life.

I am not alone in this.

It is easy to make healthy choices when I have them available.

This is just the beginning.

Oh, and I lost 16 lbs. Yay me! :)

You've been at it for 2 weeks and you lost 16 pounds already? Thats AWESOME

I agree!

What seemed so impossible and would take forever just seems to be chugging right along now. I will have been on my full fast 15 weeks tomorrow, and the time just seems to fly by while the weight flies off!

Keep at it and envision where you want to be and realize that you CAN be there! Such a great mantra!

Thanks everyone. I started with The South Beach Diet - Phase 1 and stuck pretty close to that for the first two weeks - no sugar, no fruit, and no carbs - mainly protein and vegetables, I needed something that would help me lose quick as motivation and it worked. Since then I've added in some fruit and a few carbs, but really I just try to eat healthy, no processed food and still no sugar or white flour. For me, it's working, but of course weight loss has slowed down. It wouldn't be healthy to keep losing at that rate, and healthy is my goal. Good luck to all of you. I think really it's about finding what works for you.
