60lbs in four months?

Anyone think this is semi realistic? I am going on vacation for the first time in forever. I just want to be comfortable in my own skin.

Terra1984 12-20-2014 03:52 AM

My friend lost 45 pounds in 4 months so yeah you can probably lose 60 in 4 months....Good Luck

Liliann 12-20-2014 10:40 AM

Yes, it's doable!! You can do it and make it happen!!! Good luck!!! :)

At your start weight, 15lbs a month is very doable. Make sure you are getting at least 1200 calories of quality foods (protein, lots of vegetables, some fruit and limited carbs) and plenty of water. Don't waste any of your calories on drinks (soda, juice, alcohol, etc.). Exercise will help you burn even more.

If you keep your eyes on the prize, you can definitely do this. Some weeks will be better than others but it's all about the final number. Even if you don't hit 60, you could do 50.

I hope you check in often, we can help you stay on plan and encourage you!

Thanks so much guys!!
I was thinking since my start weight is so high, the 60 should be doable. :)

IanG 12-20-2014 07:22 PM

Yes, I lost at that rate.

Terra1984 12-21-2014 03:37 AM

I wish I could lose 15 pounds a month, That would be awesome, Too bad I havent been able too.

TheLastStraw323 12-21-2014 07:53 AM

Try it for a month, Terra. I'm sure you can do it.

Log all of your food, all of your water and all of your exercise. I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised!

1 lb a week is healthy weight loss. Remember, you want this to be sustainable. Make changes you can live with.

Up your protein, carbs from fruits and non starchy vegetables, maybe two or three servings of fruit max per day, water instead of drinking your calories...if you are hungry and starve yourself, that's when you will binge and eat anything

IanG 12-21-2014 12:48 PM

4lbs a week can be sustainable and perfectly healthy. We're not featherweights.

Why go slow if you can take the sports car?

TheLastStraw323 12-21-2014 01:02 PM

I agree with Ian. At our heavier weights it should fall off if we do it correctly.

And obviously I wouldn't give this same advice pound-wise to a thin person. But 300+/-, 4lbs is doable a week. I speak from personal experience, I've been over 300.

Calicofox 12-21-2014 01:33 PM

its very do-able. The first 2 months i started my diet/exercise routine i lost 50 lbs. If you do everything right and do not give into temptations the weight does fall off. Try to be as active as possible, Every step you take, every stair you climb is a calorie burned and makes you that much closer to your goal.

TheSatinPumpkin 12-21-2014 01:57 PM

Its doable with your stats.
My first 60 (432lbs-372lbs) was 2 months, 27 days
Second 60 (371lbs-311lbs) was 3 months, 20 days
Third 60 (310lbs-250lbs) was 4 months, 16 days
Last 50 (249lbs-199lbs) was 6 months, 20 days

one day at a time.

Terra1984 12-23-2014 09:17 PM

TheLastStraw ~ Yeah I'll try it for a month and see how I do

Terra1984 12-23-2014 09:20 PM

Calicofox ~ WOW!!!!!! You lost 50 pounds in 2 months? Thats AWESOME, How did you do it?
