Yes,it's doable...This is my method for life !! I started fasting in the summer and it works great for me. I eat 1 or 2 meals, depending how my hunger is. Drinking 2 -3 liters of water daily.

Good luck if you are doing this effort!!!

There is a lot of contradictory advice about when or how often to eat, but the notion that you have to eat several small meals is getting a lot more scrutiny these days. I second the suggestion that you read about Intermittent Fasting (IF). I eat just one meal a day (and I'm very happy with my approach) but I got there through IF and a progressively smaller eating window (the window I started with was 10 AM to 10 PM!). I was originally inspired to try this approach in part by my husband, who remains happy with an 8-hour eating window. You may find that a larger eating window works well for you without dropping to just one meal. There are also approaches to IF that involve fasting on some days but not others (which didn't work well for me). I think that finding some approach that meets your highest priorities and truly getting on board with it are important. But the approach that works for each person is seems to vary considerably (not just in IF but across all different approaches).

Here's the thing. It doesn't really matter whether you eat 1or 10 times a day. What matters is the total number of calories you consume vs. The total amount of calories you expend.

Also, for weight loss to be permanent, you need to lose the weight in a manner you can maintain. Once you hit goal, there's still no going back to old ways.

Can you eat once a day for the rest of your.life? Doubtful. Find a reasonable, lasting way that includes all.food groups. Your body needs carbs, especially if you exercise.

Be patient w/yourself as you discover what works for you. Don't be in a hurry to lose. Look for what will last.

The funny thing is that after yoyo dieting for decades, eating just once a day has proven much more sustainable *for me.* I love not having to think about food throughout the day, being able to feel like I've eaten a real meal for dinner, and being able to dine out frequently. This is the first time I feel like I truly have a handle on maintenance even though I've been at goal weight several times before.
